The thing about Vermont’s reload is… the shells are so slow and floaty that by the time you’ve stopped focusing on them to see if they’ve landed, you’re most likely down to a sub-30 second reload already. 😂

It's hard to resist pushing in with all that armour and maneuverability...and putting 12 HE into a lurking dd is pleasing.
The hidden buff of the Vermont's 40 second reload is that, unlike other ships, Vermont is guaranteed to have detectability drop between salvos. It's a perk! :)
Unless, surprise sub in your face lol
Pro tip: you can utilize that with any other BB which has the concealment, by not pressing the LMB

Was inspired to grind this line after seeing the Brisk video and while I'm still on Kansas having the 12 guns and good wiggling has been pretty enjoyable. Invested in both of the AA skills, which might not be wise but seeing the AA damage number goes up makes my brain tingle so, good enough. Thanks for the work on the videos PQ!

It certainly has its drawbacks but I love the Vermont. Getting 30k+ salvos on BB's without a citadel never gets old.
You can do that with Montana too

The only ship I've ever dev struck a petro with. Even after the nerf to the guns it's still a pretty satisfying gunship and fairly relaxing to play.
Hipper/Prinz/Tallinn have 30mm deck armor, so they are deck overmatched by 457mm, like Pensacola by 380mm

That's exactly what I feel these days in BBs. By just dealing dmg you are not always impactful on the battle, if your team is crap. The more utilities you have the more impact you can have on the battle. Apart from that, also BBs are probably the most RNG influenced ships in the game. No matter how good your aim is, if RNG screws your salvo, you are basically done. In most cases CVs can be really infulential, since apart from doing a massive dmg, you can effectively spot. It is just a shame that BBs are just relegated being only dmg dealing ships. Very few of them have any meaningful utility.
A timely video, I have the XP for the Vermont but a little shy with the silver. Looking forward to the waiting between salvos, gives an older guy like me some napping opportunities.
I had a dream once where I was staying on the deck of Vermont and it made a full salvo. Of course it's a dream so I didn't lose my ears and got chills after such a loud and epic boom. Since then I play the game using headphones when I use BBs😁
I started with IJN then GER BB and Ignored the murrica line like the plague. I highly regret not getting into US BB earlier because that thing (in my view) is the epitome of battleship that I so sought after. (Yamato second fave tho)
If only the California would play like this. One of my favorite ships in the game next to Mass. Love the big girls xD
That last salvo of the 2nd game. I've been noticing that too, sometimes my dispersion is horrendous. I don't know if it's a lock on bug or if they messed with the dispersion system or what, but it's really bad sometimes.
Some times it feels like you have to lock unlock an enemy, many times it truly feels like the game doesn’t realise you have an enemy locked

Logged off tonight with less than 100k to go til Vermont so this vid couldn't have come at a better time
vermont is so weird. I'm good at the game, and i'm a regular, i play an hour or so every day (i skip some of course). but in this ship i win almost every time. I have like 77% win rate with no extra effort. in comparison, my win rate in Schlieffen is around 40% and i bust my ass off on that thing

I think that the dispersion of the gk was so bad that it trickled over and affected your shot
What are your zoom settings if you are using mods?, or is that jus the monitor resolution? battleships kinda appear bigger and streeched in your videos
I have not played the Vermont in months but I decided to take her for a spin and damn it's faster than usual and I can turn faster than before. it's more flexible and changing my direction is much better compare to the old Vermont where trying to turn is a nightmare and the speed is very slow.

Vermont UU, it will be interesting if the UU uses 6th slot, decrease reload time and improve secondary range.
In a nutshell, you sacrifice accuracy for reload and brawling.
I think it will be fun since the ship itself is good at brawling
I can fix the research bureau.
What's the big problem with it? Resetting lines AND LOSING SHIPS. I don't mind playing a lower Tier ship again. But if I have a bad game I have to wait to play that ship again. That could take 15-20 minutes. If I have 2-3 bad games in a row, that means I had to sit for almost an hour waiting to play 1 ship. That's just stupid. Like everyone else, I have ships I play between grinding battles. But example: I love the French DD line. I really like the Fantasque and Kleber. If I reset the line and play the Guepard, (T5) and for some reason die right away. I can't just go play my T8 or T10 ship because the line is reset. This makes me not reset lines, and play until I have enough Free XP to unlock an ENTIRE LINE. That's forever.
Here is the fix:
Only reset the XP for ships, but don't take them away. So example, the French DD line again. I reset the line. I keep my Kleber and Fantasque unlocked to play. I get to keep playing them if I want. But the Research Bureau XP appears as normally, and only earn the Research Bureau points by playing the ships again, (in order) for the XP only.
I play T5 until XP 'unlocks' the next ship. I receive the RB XP points. I play the T6 until I 'unlock' the next ship and get the RB points. (I only get the RB points for that tier ship when I get enough Ship XP to 'unlock' the next ship) Also make the Research Bureau points be played in Tier order. I have to play T5 first, then T6, T7.. etc. I can't skip around. All the way up to T10. And then it automatically resets once I earn whatever T10 XP is. Example: This would be great for the US BB line.. which T5-T7 is painful and the US BB line is XP EXPENSIVE. I'LL NEVER RESET THAT LINE AGAIN.

Vermont may hit like a tractor trailer, but you have to make EVERY shot count due to your reload time.

I rarely play my Montana now. Why would I when I get to play Vermonty instead?
Montana pros:
Faster straight-line speed
Faster Reload
Slightly smaller target
Better DPM
Better Fires per minute
Secondary dpm (ha)
Marginal flight time for AP
AP arming threshold
Vermont pros:
Overmatch (This alone tbh)
Better alpha-damage
Faster ac/decelleration
Better turning circle
Better rudder
More health
Better accuracy/dispersion
More range
Better concealment
Better torp protection
Better AP & HE penetration
Better fire chance per shell
Marginal flight time for HE
AA is kinda mixed. Monty marginally wins base, but Vermont gets DFAA, sooooo
Repair party is mixed too, but I'd personally give it to Vermont. Monty has a higher base repair value, but heals much less citadel damage and has DOUBLE the cooldown
Mixed gun angles too, Monty has better fore angles, but Vermont gets better rear angles
Armour scheme is kinda mixed also. Vermont having a thicker deck and upper belt, but also having a larger super structure and kindaaa vulnerable citadel (Though I never feel in danger of being citadeled in it. I don't get it). Montana does have an exposed citadel, but it does have thicker armour for it. Vermont also has better armoured turrets, as much as that matters.
What you gain with Vermont feels far more useful and impactful than what you gain with Monty. Even the longer reload can help you pick your targets better leading to better decision making. Without the overmatch and accuracy, the DPM of Monty often just doens't cut it. I'm left feeling "If only I was in a Vermont right now". For Monty to feel more viable right now, I'd either want to see nerfs to Vermont (Probably in it's handling), or a few small buffs to Monty (But honeslty it's lasted this long without so it's probably the former). Buffs to Monty I'd like to see are really in it's rudder and ac/deceleration. For a "Fast Battleship", it feels worse to handle than the more nimble Vermont, which is hilarious when you consider how they look.

Does anyone know when the research bureau x2 resets? I know its every three months, but is it based on when i used it, or globally?
I think it reset last week, so ur gonna have to wait another 3 months I'm afraid.

Great ship to farm. Burn baby burn. Watched the king of the sea battles. St. Vincent and Kremlin we’re much in evidence however not a single Vermont made an appearance. I don’t sail my Vermont. It’s too damn cumbersome, the slooow reload is maddening, and the floaty shells are annoying. Then there’s all that 32 mm plating. No thank you. Nice video though. 👍🏻

Not everybody is playing tier 10 in Wows. Vermont this year has just a bit over 700.000 games. North Carolina has 11 million, Bismark 18 million games. Could you please make videos about more popular ships in the future, too? And not always just tier 10 and tier 11 .. it is just discouraging. Thanks.

While Vermont isn't a bad ship, it's so boring to play that i can't bring myself to play it. Same for Colombo. 40sec. wait time is just brutal. Though unlike Colombo, Vermont can at least hit stuff.
