      @@seanlyons161 Yah, it's the ones you don't see... I've taken apart things that have never seen the light of day and found broken clips. The trim triangles are the worst. You can usually find one or two j-clips missing around the front footwells because they get kicked, usually in the winter with big boots when the plastic is nice and cold. My MK5 Passat has that "soft touch" plastic that after 20 years is just turning to goo. So even if the panel has all the tabs and clips it looks like everything has been chewed on by a puppy.

    floppy door panel: check. Junk everywhere (anti-theft camouflage!) check. Extra fluids: check. Failing interior: semi-check (headliner on your head, bah...) Air fresheners, sometimes, but no crayon smells. Running engine, because it's a TDI.

      I love the crayon smells. It reminds me so much of the old mk4 we used to own when I was a kid. When I recently bought a mk4 jetta, I said to the owner "it even smells like my old jetta"

    Hey Mr humble mechanic. May i pick your brain? Question about a 1st cousin to the passat.
    01 S4. The car just, by the grace of the audi gods survived a t belt tensioner failure. NTN tensioner failed at just 40k mi. She drove it 1.5 mile home on rattling motor. Valves were definitely tapping. I do all my own work. I ripped it apart and to my surprise it hadnt skipped not even a tooth. I decided to give it a chance to live. Changed all t belt related items, cam tensioners too. She runs smooth.... so far. 🥳...
    Fast foward one week. My efan power wire the goes to battery was broken inside near fuse. I made the mistake of not removing neg cable. When i installed the factory power wire and efan there was a small spark. Didnt think much of it. On first start next day it stumbled bad on cold start. Ran smooth after. Next day i scaned it. Had a low voltage code nothing else. Cleared it and removed neg cable for 10min. Next morning... today, it still stumbled on cold start... though not as much. Think this is related to that spark? Or just coincidence? Appreciate any advice...besides should of removed neg cable 🤣. I know rookie mistake. I do a 2.7t timing belt job flawlessly. But forget to remove neg cable, lol

    • @easycomeeasygo8901
      @easycomeeasygo8901 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Are you going for big power? Though it will be nose heavier, for bigger power on pump 93 fuel, id go turbo vr6. More cubic inches equals more power on 93 fuel. 1.8t can make power too. I made 411awhp or about 500 all wheel crank hp w my 1.8t with 93 fuel. Hoping for more with the stroker. 1.8t isnt exactly cheap to build. Check how much cash you got first, and check how much vr6 vs 1.8t builds compare. They both have their power limits on stock internals. Check that too. And dont forget a front LSD. Good luck
