I have no qualms about purchasing a program to elevate my skill level, but first things first. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I just got my Silhouette. There is no quick start guide or book for adventurous souls like me. You went step by step and I have learned more about the Studio than I dreamed possible. Kimberly have been on your website and have several of your designs. This video is absolutely the best by far. I have had my Cameo 2 since 2017 was doing okay but became ill and stopped awhile. Then when started again I upgraded to designer edition thinking that would make life easier ha. no idea why, but between software upgrade there was and upgrade omg then I became to fearful to even print. I seem to be able to create once I figure out where everything went. Thank goodness for right click! I'm just afraid to print out. now. Your video just gave me some confidence to move forward. I just got my Silhouette Cameo 4 on Friday and have been wanting to make Superman Stencils and many other stencils for Glass etching. Your instructions are the best on TH-cam. Cameo should hire you to do instruction videos for them. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I wish you did this for the portrait. I bought my Portrait in 2016, let it sit for almost a year, finally made maybe 2 or 3 cuts in one night and never touched it again...until now and I am just so completely lost, like I was back then and I remember nothing. I have just updated to 4.3 and now here I am watching your video for my Portrait but mainly to understand Studio. Thank you for this.
thats me I took my cameo 4 out of the box when I got it in November. I haven't touched it since , not even a first cut. the soft ware is so intimidating. I have my cricut that I know the design space well and its very easy to learn, but the silhouette I will be able to do more im sure.

thank you! I just got the cameo 4 and I'm freaking out because I'm transitioning from the cricut explore air 2. I'm already frustrated that my machine stopped working out of no where after just having it a year and a half and the company said all they could do for me was give me a 20$ coupon. this video is a massive help!

this is a great video, only detail I would change is to have you do your fonts in something other than light pink,very hard to see for us on this side of the video watching, Using darker colors will be lots easier on aging eyes like mine lol, love it and thank you for doing these!
oh my gosh - I am glad I am not the only one that will do a ton of fonts on the side of the mat. It's one of the most time consuming things for me - finding the font I want....
This was an AMAZING video!! I have had my Cameo 3 for over a year and have only cut like 2 things, and that was just by trial & error!! You do such a good job of explaining how things work & take time with it. All the other videos I found were just "unboxing your silhouette".......going from a cricut with cartridges to this has definitely been a learning curve. Thank you so much!! So glad I found your channel:) Do you have videos where you recommend types/brands of vinyl for different projects? That is something I don't know much about either.
9:10 pm 0:22 Thank you so much for your video, I have been using my Cameo 3 by trial and error and your video which I just found has answered a lot of questions, very helpful! One question that I do have is when loading your vinyl into the machine using a mat do you make adjustments to the blade to move it into the vinyl and possibly down with the arrows so that it is better aligned to cut on the vinyl and not cut on the mat? I have found that I have to do this because my machine doesn’t always line up the blade properly.
i love mine, but i wish there were more people out there with videos showing how great and fun it is. it seems everybody is on the cricut band wagon. Am still trying to figure out if i want to update the software since i saw a lot of people having problems afterwards who posted on FB.
Sorry, also to get the different colors do you have to load different color vinyl for each color? So if you wanted to do pink letters with black polkadots you’d have to print out the pink letters first and then print out the black polkadots and put them over top of each other?
Awesome first video in this series. I have had my silhouette for about a year and have done some projects with many issues lol but this has clarified a lot for me. I have the first silhoutte machine and I purchased the premium blade I believe it's called and my issue even with the original rachet blades is when I go to cut my project out of vinyl even if I do a double pass it always doesn't cut the beginning of the letter , it's like my blade isn't making full contact how do I fix that? I do a test cut and cuts great but then I go to cut my project and it's like the blade isn't making full contact with the vinyl especially when it first starts .
Is it possible that your letter design is intersecting the cut border? Sometimes when your "show cut boarder" is not selected, the cutter will cut everything except the part of your design that is peeking outside of the cut boarder.

I wish you did this for the portrait. I bought my Portrait in 2016, let it sit for almost a year, finally made maybe 2 or 3 cuts in one night and never touched it again...until now and I am just so completely lost, like I was back then and I remember nothing. I have just updated to 4.3 and now here I am watching your video for my Portrait but mainly to understand Studio. Thank you for this.

thats me I took my cameo 4 out of the box when I got it in November. I haven't touched it since , not even a first cut. the soft ware is so intimidating. I have my cricut that I know the design space well and its very easy to learn, but the silhouette I will be able to do more im sure.

I have been using Cricut for 3 years, just got the Silhouette Pro for Christmas, had no clue where to even start, I know this is a older video and maybe some things have changed, but at least I have more knowledge now by watching your video and comprehending what you are teaching than what I have picked up from other videos that I become so frustrated with because they are not as detailed as yours. thank you! I just got the cameo 4 and I'm freaking out because I'm transitioning from the cricut explore air 2. I'm already frustrated that my machine stopped working out of no where after just having it a year and a half and the company said all they could do for me was give me a 20$ coupon. this video is a massive help!

this is a great video, only detail I would change is to have you do your fonts in something other than light pink,very hard to see for us on this side of the video watching, Using darker colors will be lots easier on aging eyes like mine lol, love it and thank you for doing these!

oh my gosh - I am glad I am not the only one that will do a ton of fonts on the side of the mat. It's one of the most time consuming things for me - finding the font I want....

This was an AMAZING video!! I have had my Cameo 3 for over a year and have only cut like 2 things, and that was just by trial & error!! You do such a good job of explaining how things work & take time with it. All the other videos I found were just "unboxing your silhouette".......going from a cricut with cartridges to this has definitely been a learning curve. Thank you so much!! So glad I found your channel:) Do you have videos where you recommend types/brands of vinyl for different projects? That is something I don't know much about either.

Thank you so much for your video, I have been using my Cameo 3 by trial and error and your video which I just found has answered a lot of questions, very helpful! One question that I do have is when loading your vinyl into the machine using a mat do you make adjustments to the blade to move it into the vinyl and possibly down with the arrows so that it is better aligned to cut on the vinyl and not cut on the mat? I have found that I have to do this because my machine doesn’t always line up the blade properly.
i love mine, but i wish there were more people out there with videos showing how great and fun it is. it seems everybody is on the cricut band wagon. Am still trying to figure out if i want to update the software since i saw a lot of people having problems afterwards who posted on FB.
Sorry, also to get the different colors do you have to load different color vinyl for each color? So if you wanted to do pink letters with black polkadots you’d have to print out the pink letters first and then print out the black polkadots and put them over top of each other?

Awesome first video in this series. I have had my silhouette for about a year and have done some projects with many issues lol but this has clarified a lot for me. I have the first silhoutte machine and I purchased the premium blade I believe it's called and my issue even with the original rachet blades is when I go to cut my project out of vinyl even if I do a double pass it always doesn't cut the beginning of the letter , it's like my blade isn't making full contact how do I fix that? I do a test cut and cuts great but then I go to cut my project and it's like the blade isn't making full contact with the vinyl especially when it first starts .
That is so weird! I'm not sure what is causing this!
Is it possible that your letter design is intersecting the cut border? Sometimes when your "show cut boarder" is not selected, the cutter will cut everything except the part of your design that is peeking outside of the cut boarder.
