Also, I use the crosshairs when I want to see if something is lined up straight. For me the crosshairs are generally off. Keep ‘em coming.

I have a question, my silhouette studio v4.5 which I’ve had for about a year, the features in the program are responding slowly or not at all, sometimes the whole program flashes as though it’s going to crash. My computer is 1yr old with no files on it. I use flash drives to save files. I already uninstalled and reinstalled the business edition program. The problem continues. Have you heard of this problem or how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated, thx

I found you today and hoping since you did a video about the Media Layout, you can help me turn it off. I didn’t even know I turned it on, but when I try to add registration marks in page setup, I get a message that Registration marks are not available when Media Layout is active. I clicked on the Media Layout panel and see no way to turn it off. HELPPP! PLEASE.
@@silhouettesuccess Thank you, I have managed to get that working but now even printing and cutting it is missing the design. Someone said needs recalibrating, followed a youtube tutorial, it shows as a cameo 2 but the layout completely different and I can't find the calibration tab. Feel like I should have left machine in the box 😒🤔 so frustrating.
@@almahowarth7199 the Silhouette machines almost never need to be calibrated. Have you reset the blade housing? What type of paper are you cutting? Glossy or matte? Have you tried closing the lid during registration?
@@silhouettesuccess yes I've done blade housing reset. I'm using plain lightweight card for print and cut. Sorry what do you mean about registration? With machine closed?
@@almahowarth7199 close the lid on the machine while it is reading the registration marks. It lowers the level of light inside and reduces shadows and glare.
I just added a Cameo 3 after several years of using the Cameo 2. But under the Machine choices...the drop down does not have Cameo 3. I have not been able to find an answer on this anywhere...is there not a setting for the 3? I suppose it could be the same as the 2...but a person should still be able to select their own machine.
@@silhouettesuccess Yes I did. I was going to cut something as a test but I couldn't select the three which means I couldn't select the auto blade, which is what I wanted to check out. But I have since been able to do it because it shows up somewhere else like down at the bottom or something it lets me fix something and then it changes all the blades. So at least I can cut with it now. But it still doesn't show the Cameo 3 as a choice in the dropdown for machines. Very weird. I hate to have to uninstall everything and reinstall it because it's already iffy when it comes to saving my supposedly synced designs. When I'm off again this weekend I'm going to do some more investigating.
@@silhouettesuccess It says it's the latest...but I've always had this issue. For years...ever since I've been using Silhouettes and Silh Studio. I hardly ever get files from Silhouette...I always create my own, so there is no backup from the store. I rely on the syncing library, and it does this crap all the time...but it's so random. Saves plenty...but there are always some in there that say "Download Failed" and I can never open those again.
I don’t have a silhouette machine but I downloaded the software to see if I want to get the machine. I when I click on text and start to type the outline is red and I can’t get it to change not what I try. How can I get the outline in black or the color the text will be in?
After you type out the text, you want to click off of the text box so that the cursor goes away. Then click back on it. At the top left corner, you will see 2 rectangles. They are fill color and line color. Click on whichever you want to change, and that will bring up a color palette. Select your color.
Hello I’m having such a hard time with the studio. I’m trying to type something in normal font and it comes up with a bunch of red lines over it. The letter some up half cut even I highlight and switch fonts the same thing happens.. any ideas on how to resolve??
Are you on a Mac? This sounds like the compatability issue with Sonoma and the new update. You'll have to uninstall Studio and install a legacy edition. 4.4.5... I think it is.
I wish the mat could be moved like if im trying to make sa bigger print i would make it big snd put half on mat n print the redt hangs off mat that doesnt print do i eish i could move the mat with a slider to print the image thats hanging off mst eithout moving my imsge so it would print evenly 😊😊😊
I thought I could reply with a video, but I cannot. I'm better at Silhouette than I am at TH-cam.😅 I'm going to go through the steps that you need to take to get this done. 1. Bring your image into Silhouette Studio and make sure that it is the size that you want. 2. Grab a rectangle from the drawing tools on the left hand side of the screen, and drag it out so that it is the same size as your print border. 3. Align the tops and left-hand edges of your image and the rectangle. 4. Right click on the image and bring it to the front (This step is very important!) 5. Open up the Modify Panel. 6. Select both the image and the rectangle. 7. Click on Divide. Click anywhere off of the image so that it's not selected anymore, and you will be left with 2 parts that will print and line up perfectly.
this is not basic for me, I just bought a cameo 4 and I've been struggling for 2 days to get it to print the entire page and not cropped and now for the past 2 days I've failed to get it to actually cut the page it keeps spitting it out and saying that registration failed no matter what I do, i searched high and low for fixes I tried everything i found and nothing works :(
Make sure that your printer settings match what you have in the Page Setup Panel, and make sure that your printer is not set to reduce or enlarge documents to fit.

I'm running the Business Edition, and that is probably most of the difference. I've also updated to the latest version of the software.

Go to the view tab at the top of the screen and look for Media Layout. Click on that, and it will toggle it off.

The choice should definitely be there. Have you connected the machine to the computer by USB yet?

@@chrinamint what version of the software are you running? They are putting updates out like crazy. Some of them have very strange bugs.
