If you've played a survival game before it's quite normal. Usually due to the scale of the world and everything that can be altered and changed. For example in 7 days to die you can dig/break and change anything you can see and in Valheim it's quite similar. That may be why.

The reviews are gonna bury this game deeper than the caves the dwarves are in
dude you dont have to kill them
Lord of the Rings war in the North, shadow of mordor, Shadow of war, Lord of the Rings The 2 towers PS2, and Return of the king PS2. How in the world did we go from absolutely Immaculate, and Amazing games to this hulking pile of garbage?😔
Can"t wait to throw some stuff in this throwing simulator.
-"Une mine, ils appellent ça une mine !"
-"Non... Ce n'est pas une mine....C'est un tombeau !"
We need OPEN WORLD LORD OF THE RINGS, with great graphics great storyline as it is, its 2023 what are those graphics
And no blackwashing
Some of us are more concerned with gameplay than fancy graphics. Heck, games like Factorio and Dwarf Fortress still have sprite graphics- but the gameplay is out of this world.
Shadow of Mordor or shadow of war. Both awesome games!
@@benm1889but they're not really LOTR games. More like fan fictions
LOTR MMO by Amazon games within 7 years or so
This game could look promising, maybe a decade ago.
Great concept just some things need to be worked on like wtf are these animations
I’m a huge LOTR fan and an even bigger dwarf fan, but this needs a lot of work. The animations are so stiff and janky, it’s really jarring and takes me right out of the game. Hopefully it gets better.
If modding tools will be given to players this game can have HUGE potential.
Exploring MOria as Shrek, Pepsi Man, Link and Carl Johnson would be an awesome adventure!
deep rock galactic, you are welcome
@@ivanspataro5466ah yes a wave shooter where you do the same thing over and over and over
Why everyone hating on the game before it even releases?
This looks it would be great if it was releasing in a year.
Maybe 10
Well, it is releasing in a year if you wish to buy it on steam.
This game's audience: hardcore LOTR fans with some interest by Middle Earth geology
Nope, LOTR fans do not have not and never will accept the blackwashing of Middle-earth
@TomorrowWeLive lol where did that come from XD
This new Everquest expansion looks great!
It's like Deep Rock Galactic, but without the Deep, the Rock and the Galactic.
Feels like we are going back in time, not because of the nostalgia but because of the graphics, was this created 10 years before LOTR the return of the king for PS2?
If you've played a survival game before it's quite normal. Usually due to the scale of the world and everything that can be altered and changed. For example in 7 days to die you can dig/break and change anything you can see and in Valheim it's quite similar. That may be why.
No friggin way man. Procedurally generating this kind of environment isn’t easy, especially with the amount of detail it has. Didn’t get to see much combat, most of it was in a bottomless pit that was pretty boring. I’ll just wait to see what it’s like after launch, no pre order but I’m watching it.
Dude tossed that topaz like it was made out of childsupportium
Could be fun for a bit at the right price point, but Core Keeper seems to have a lot more to do at half the price...
Movement through the halls/caves will have to have ways to be sped up, otherwise this looks like a slog to get anywhere after the first several hours.
2009: i'm excited to see how games gonna become in the near future.
2023: games looks like 2004 games graphic.
Everything is connected !
Hopefully this will be a passion project and time and care goes in to this *coughsGollumcoughs* Given the lore on the dwarves this could be a REAL masterpiece. 👌🏼
Well given the fact that it releases in a month and that what we're seeing here is what we'd all expect to see from a game where the backbone is setup but most of the content is missing and still has a year and a half to go before release, I'm not holding my breath. More likely this will get 4-5/10 reviews for being completely original and mediocre and no more funding will go into it.
@@Nebx1989 It's also EGS exclusive on PC, that thing games do when they have no faith in their own capacity to sell themselves so they take Epic's dirty money.
Comments be like "I'm harshly judging this game based on a vertical slice"
No, they’re fairly judging a game based on a very lackluster showing. It doesn’t even have background music! Like c’mon, Anthem had more effort put into than this. Like this looks terrible and boring with no element of excitement to be found. If this didn’t have LOTR attached to it, literally no one would care.
Play Lord or the Rings Online!! The game has such a big map, beautiful Soundtrack, great community. We need more players, the game was once the most played game. There are always updates, u can discover whole Middle-Earth
Unfortunately it's like playing wow classic with very basic move sets, it needs large overhaul to entice people who have played MMORPG's for the last twenty years, as it's got a very old play style. Just my opinion.
@@clarkyere008you want something that's not basic, play warden it has a combo system. Lotro is FAR better than WoW, honestly not hard to do these days lol. Speaks for itself when they had to release classic just to keep a large chunk of their players
Oh no, it's Gollum all over again
Clearly needs a lot more time in the oven. But it has potential. If they listen to the feedback and give the devs the time to make a great game, I'm sure this could end up to be quite a gem (hehe, get it?).
And the deafening silence during gameplay is so awkward
This is the Minecraft: LotR edition
Golum developers: We make the worst Lotr game ever...
Return of Moria developers: Hold my beer
how? it looks great
@@Torbis tell me, what looks great is this beyond mediocre mess of a game lil bro?
@@Alex-ii2zt
It looks great, would of liked to see more combat tho, the problem is that all these people who don’t play survival games are looking at this just because it has a lord of the rings title & expecting it to be something it’s not, it’s a survival game, you guys just don’t understand
Nice project dude ! Do you have a git repo so we can help ?
Im not getting the hate. This video doesn't show much or any of the mechanics or overview. Im interested to see how this turns out
then why show this extremely boring video without any gameplay?
It's showing EXACTLY what this game is about.
@@unhommequicourt yeah idk. Not the first time I've seen a game shoot itself in the foot by showing something this shallow
Was this game made in 2005 and only released now?
So it's just Deep Rock Galactic with a fraction of the fun . . . Please have more than this in the game.
its a survival game, DRG is a mission-based looter shooter...
the only similarity between those games is that they both have dwarves and MP, other than that its a totally different genre.
@@carsonnesbit1178 both games have the dwarves in mines too, mining stuff, but Return to Moria beats DRG in scope and atmosphere. DRG definitely has more polished gameplay though, but then again it released in 2018.

These are high specs just to play a PS2 game 😂
These system spec recommendations are wrong.
The true ones state all this was achieved with Nvidia DLSS 3.5 + Frame generation.
It looks and sounds like the game needs AT LEAST another year of development... A shame. Been waiting for this one.
This is the kind of game I’d expect to come out in the 2010s not today
It’s a survival game not a AAA, what do you expect, clearly never played valheim
@@xizuzongchi4354 People baffle me by expecting triple A quality out of a game not even priced at that level. Survival games are tons of fun even without eye-blasting graphics. Hell, fun pimps are contributing to the project if the dev's info page is to be believed and 7D2D is one of my favourite survival games.
my main disappointment is that you need torches. Surely dwarves have darkvision.
It's awesome to get actual game play this early! Usually we would only get cinematics up until a month before the game launches. Seeing the devs show what the game is while they are still working on it could be a risk, as OBVIOUSLY its not in a finished state, but it still feels like they are being honest about what the core of the game is. My biggest problem with the AAA publishers is that their entire marketing scheme is a loud, explosive, scripted, hype train trailer that doesn't show anything. Then when you get the game you find out that the game doesn't even work.
Its barely more than a month until the game comes out...
@@Arrinity Barely? This was posted exactly 2 months in advance. Lol
@joeymoll7526 in the context of "we usually don't get this stuff until like a month before release".... 2 months is effectively the same time window for what they are referencing. We aren't 6+ months out with everything still under NDA
Usually the last couple months or so are just polishing the game and fixing bugs. It’s not going to look much if any different than what you are seeing here
Lolol the game has been finished for months…. You think they set a release date and then just keep writing and making the game…? It was probably done at the start of 2023. They have to test it, get license approval etc. and no once the game is done it’s done. The dlc is made with the base game. There not in a cubical working on new content for the game everyday. They’re already working on their next game
All they had to do was making Valheim, but with dwarves and going deeper instead of further
Its definetly one of the games of all time
their torch does not illuminate anything
You hear about a new game in the world of LOTR and you imagine epic battles against orcs and the forces of evil... instead we get a minecraft clone?
This has to be the worst play through video I’ve seen but game looks amazing
AND THEY CALL IT A MINE, A MINE!
