No sparks flying out from hits, CGI battle instead of costumes. And 1 instance of classic footage delivered in the worst possible way. And then they give Trini a canonical death but nothing for Tommy. Nothing about it worked for me :(

While I’m not a film producer, I know there is a very real chance it was too late to change the movie in any meaningful way in that 5 month time period. Part of your comment highlights their lack of budget, and then your final point implies they have plenty of money and resources to rewrite, refilm, and re-edit potentially multiple scenes. JDF’s death is sad. But you don’t have to be mad at a movie over it.
facts they added things to this game i didn't even expect. like more zord super scalers other then the monster of the week and that time warp mechanic. Green ranger is crazy now they did all that too.
Thanks for noticing! Ever since it was announced in the summer, fans have impatiently demanded a release date, almost with an assumption that we're being evasive or rude by not offering one. But the truth is we were still working -- we still are working! -- and we didn't want to commit until we knew we could deliver. Gamers naturally expect the highest quality and the deepest gameplay and the longest playtime, and those are all things we want too -- but they also want to be told the title will be shadow dropping three hours from now. That expectation may come from a place of love and enthusiasm, but it's just not how game dev works, and it's often difficult to set expectations accordingly.

The robo rita plot taking place in 2023 is a direct follow up from the plot of the 2023 Netflix special. This game's premise is, what if the Robo Rita from the Netflix special wasn't thwarted.
They should because it's be weird not facing Lord Zedd or Rito Revolto, seeings he brought in the Tengu Warriors. And then Rita tricks Zedd into marriage, but even after the spell wears down Zedd accepts it, anyway. Then during the ShogunZord season Master Vile attempts to take over..... There's so many directions they could go..... Too bad BOOM! Studios seems to have no involvement on this 1 as they appear to kind of with Legacy Wars and Battle For the Grid.....
I think we need a Dino Thunder expansion with the DT Rangers travelling back in time to rescue younger Tommy, thereby unlocking both MM versions of Tommy as well as DT Tommy.

Omfgggg this looks so damn incredible. I LOVED the snes game but it was very flawed. This seems to have gotten it right. Really amazed how they incorporate side scroll beat em up with vehicle and megazoed combat. I want to go back in time and show my younger self this
Id love a power rangers RPG. Create your character, design your suit, exploring with your AI or online group, coming across enemies and deciding whether to morph or not. Maybe you have to gather crystals before you can morph
I've always wanted a Marvel Ultimate Alliance type of Power Rangers game, where you can unlock rangers and create your own team. They should do the Boom comics storylines for such a game.

7:26 Hearing that quote really now makes me wish someone would make a 3 way crossover between Power Rangers/TMNT/X-Men. The three biggest superhero teams of the 90's teaming up in one series would be crazy epic. Would probably be crazy to balance the rights, especially seeing at X-Men is Marvel/Disney. But hey they've done crazier teamups in the past. Though if Disney were in control, there's a chance they could also get the rights to have other 90's teams make cameos somewhere along the way. Like Street Sharks, Captain Planet's Planeteers, Animorphs, VR Troopers, Battletoads ... ok I think I'm going insane here.
My ONLY criticism about this game is the fact you morph into your suit before every level you play. I wish there was a meter mechanic or something, where you would play as the original characters, beat up on a few puddles and press a button to morph MID level. Hell, they could’ve given us like a two part scenario, like if we simply walked to the next slide location, morph them into their suits and then finished the level before the megazord battle. I just want to actually build up to my morphing phase instead of starting in my morphing phase the whole level like they normally do in the tv show. That’s legitimately my only criticism. But I couldn’t be more excited for this game.

Also someone's probably already said it but Robo Rita isn't the actual Rita; Rita herself became the Empress of Good Magic by 2006 and essentially established the Mystic Force Rangers' powers after her purification around 1998
I wish they would do more with the combat system. I hope that its more that just another shredders revenge or streets of rage 4. Im glad they added other gameplay modes but for terms of replayability add tons of moves and customizable attacks, team attacks, super moves or effects maybe a skill tree based on their ranger powers. I dont maybe i just play too many games. Either way still gunna pick this up
There's no skill tree here -- every character is powered-up and freakin' awesome from the drop. It's designed to be a 90s coin-op arcade game so you're a hero from the jump -- no waiting!

this looks awesome, the og snes game was fun but pr never got the acclaim in that era for any more mighty morphin games, it switched to time force on ps and that was really the last time anyone saw anything like that, this is as they say long overdue and I'm sure will be a great follow up to those titles
I know what you mean, in the senes that Mega Drive and Game Gear original Power Rangers games weren't proper Beat 'em Ups, but Fighters. The Super Nintendo and Gameboy versions of the original Power Rangers game, nor the Movie version, also weren't proper Beat 'em Ups, but more like a side-scrolling Platformers (with very uninspired design in the case of the Gameboy versions). Then Fighting Edition was another Fighter (albeit a very good one) and Zeo was a Kart Racer (and not a good one). But the Mega Drive version of Power Rangers The Movie, _was_ a proper Beat 'em Up, and was literally released when the franchise was at it's peak to coincide roughly with the Movie release. It wasn't stellar but it was plenty competent (and the only game that gave all the Rangers their own skins rather than just recolouring; I am looking at you super buff SNES Pink Ranger). Just see alot of people miss that, probably because they assume it'd be more like the original Mega Drive game (as the Movie version of the SNES, Gameboy, and Game Gear games are exactly like the original version just with some art and character changes), but this was not the case with the Movie Mega Drive game. It was actually a different genre from the original Mega Drive game, and probably the best Power Rangers game in that era, considering it was the only one that utilised the show proper rather than inserting generic video game music and tropes. Just like Rita's Revenge, that one felt like they did their homework on it, rather than just calling it in as a cash-grab.
I really wish it was similar to previous game Id love to play as the teenagers and morph for a power up during the mission. Especially when the sprites of the teenagers seems to look good.
I am curious whether they will continue to provide support for the game following its release and introduce additional content, such as a survival mode and extra chapters featuring other Rangers.
Only question i have is after you unlock Tommy can you use the dragonzord in the zord fight sections. I doubt it but it would be great if it turns out im wrong
The only thing that dissapoint me is the megazord fight, why they can't do the 2D Fighting Game Style just like what Banpresto & Natsume did with their Power Rangers game back in the day ?
So, in the series, either each Ranger controlled a different part of the Zord, like legs and arms or all the rangers were coordinated enough to do the same movement, like in Pacific Rim.
I keep wondering if there is going to be a skin to turn the green ranger into the white ranger. The white ranger was my favorite one, so I hope it will be included into the game.
So I'm assuming nobody knows about the power rangers mega battle, a side scrolling beat em up that released in 2017. Because every time people mention this game, they talk about the SNES games and for some reason why they never released any after that. Which, they did. It wasn't groundbreaking, but it was enjoyable. This, though it does look better, is not the first since the SNES to release. Not even including the gameboy games that dropped as well. 👀

So, in the series, either each Ranger controlled a different part of the Zord, like legs and arms or all the rangers were coordinated enough to do the same movement, like in Pacific Rim.

I keep wondering if there is going to be a skin to turn the green ranger into the white ranger. The white ranger was my favorite one, so I hope it will be included into the game.
Physical release?
So I'm assuming nobody knows about the power rangers mega battle, a side scrolling beat em up that released in 2017. Because every time people mention this game, they talk about the SNES games and for some reason why they never released any after that. Which, they did. It wasn't groundbreaking, but it was enjoyable. This, though it does look better, is not the first since the SNES to release. Not even including the gameboy games that dropped as well. 👀
