      Thank so you much. We are well on our way and are growing fast! :) I thank you for being a part of the TBK community! We should do lightning in Blender! That would be awesome! :D

    I just wanted to thank you for your pixel art tutorials! I only recently got into pixel art and your videos have helped me a lot. btw would you say that having a graphics tablet makes it easier to create pixel art?

    • @TutsByKai
      @TutsByKai  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome! Thank YOU for watching! Glad I'm able to help! Well it depends. For larger scale pixel art like this... then yeah, it helps a lot - since the canvas is so big, you're in essence just painting with pixels :D But for small scale stuff - like old school pixel art graphics... then no! You should be fine with no tablet! :)

      @@TutsByKai Thank you! I'm just a beginner, however, getting a good graphics tablet will be my priority. And once again, thank you for these awesome tutorials.

      Awesome! I am so glad you like my videos :) I recommend the Huion H610 Pro - that's the one I saved up for. It's pretty cheap, AND it's really cheap in comparison to other tablets :D Doesn't have an LED screen, but those are kinda overkill - especially for pixel art :D But yes, graphic tablets make loads of a difference! ESPECIALLY if you decide to branch out to digital painting :0 :D I love it! Got it almost 2 years ago now, and it works perfectly! I did need to replace my pen, due to charging reasons, a few months ago... but all in all - it's fantastic!

      @@TutsByKai Thanks again! I was just browsing all these graphics tables and wasn't sure which one to get. But yeah, a led screen would be superfluous for a beginner like me. H610 it is!

      Libresprite

    • @PaqAttax
      @PaqAttax 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is *Aesprite*
      It's available for both Windows and Mac through Steam for about $15 USD.

      Actually, this is Libresprite. A free Aseprite alternative. I don't like promoting Aseprite since the developer is not a very nice person.

      @@TutsByKai Thanks for clearing that up. Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference from a first glance. The GUI between the two looks remarkably similar to the point of being near indistinguishable.
      Just the same, your tutorial is a great one, and I favorited it. It's very useful.
      I haven't really followed up with the developer personally though. Just out of curiosity, what did they do that made them not a very nice person?

    • @TutsByKai

      There's a long story behind Aseprite... but here it is in (semi) short fashion. When the dev, David Capello, first wanted to create Aseprite, he licenced it under the GPLv2 licence - which pretty much allows everyone to use the software for free and contribute code to help the software grow and become better. After Capello used the community to get everyone's free code, he pulled the program from GPLv2 (which you just don't do) and made it a paid program. After being asked the simple question of why he did this, he said that it had nothing to do with him wanting money... but instead concocted all these ludicrous reasons that have NOTHING to do with a program being GPLv2 or not. For example, he stated that he pulled the GPLv2 because he wanted to save electricity. Huh? Then as time progressed... he stated that there wasn't anything wrong with wanting monetary compensation for his work. After a long time of this sort of thing - he's been going around the internet contradicting himself ALL over the place. And when people call him on it, he becomes very hostile and rude. He pretty much told me that I was an idiot and was even using incorrect information when trying to give his argument against me, when I posted my original Libresprite video for saying that Libresprite was almost exactly like Aseprite... when Libresprite is OBVIOUSLY the almost exactly the same. Especially when you know that Libresprite is a fork of Aseprite's old GPLv2 licence. Capello is just upset because he can't take Libresprite down since the GPLv2 licence says you can use whatever, whenever and forever. Libresprite was created from a few of the devs who were helping Aseprite when it was under the GPLv2 licence. Hope that clears things up :)

    I'm going to build a pixel art style game in unity. Would this software be good alone. Or would I need something else to compliment? Im mainly a developer but i need to get into the art side

    • @TutsByKai

      This software is perfect! No need for anything else! In the future, if you decide to work with 3D pixels (voxels), I recommend MagicaVoxel : th-cam.com/video/aMBMhedQp6s/w-d-xo.html :)

    Hey sweet tutorial. Just having a issue. When i press delete and enable onion mode I still don't see the background of the previous frame, any suggestions?

    • @TutsByKai
      @TutsByKai  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have any layer obstructing the checked background, you won't be able to see the onion skinning. Try hiding any layers other than the transparent layer you're drawing on :)
