1989 was still the G body for Speedster. The 964 Speedster was also one year only in 1994, and doesn't have the turbo flares. This car is most certainly a G body.

It was real. We verified the VIN and build date later on.
The shape of the windscreen is a tell tale sign. Speedsters had a shorter windscreen it was more oval than the regular G body.
