I remember my grandpa telling me stories about his Saturday nights.
He would watch Sha-Na-Na from his house because thats when the next door neighbor brat would finally fall asleep.
For a long time, i didnt know what he meant when grandpa said, he would "sneak through her window and the neighbor lady would let him come inside her back door."
Now i know EXACTLY what he meant.

If you were playing a pickup gig with Chuck, or were lucky enough to have him sit-in at a club, it was *always* a good idea to watch him closely, especially his hands. He had a habit of changing positions without notice, thus changing the key. If the band didn't catch it, and played a clunker, who caught the blame? A tough lesson, but from a master performer and player.

Those playing on stage with Chuck Berry no doubt considered it an honor to play with him on the show. Sha Na Na went against the grain when the played at Woodstock. At first when they appeared on stage the Hippies just looked at them because here’s guys with their hair slicked back. When they started singing 🎵 the Hippies got into it because no doubt they started to remember their American Graffiti Days. If anyone could pull off anything like that it’s…Bowser!!!

Bill Haley (1954), Elvis Presley (1954), Little Richard (1955), Bo Diddley (1955). I was a DJ back then and knew Haley, Bo Diddley and Chuck. Hope you are enlightened now. Yes, Les Paul was not a Rock'n'Roller.@@chrispraz877

Chuck was great in Sha Na Na he was great in any show. He influenced the Beatles, Stones, and others. Other performers looked up to him because Chuck Berry wrote his own material. He was great in this show and Sha Na Na backed him up as well. It’s sad that Chuck Berry isn’t around anymore because this is someone they need to bring back.
