Interesting Story about An Iconic Figure in American History, much history learned enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing Lamont at Large, Your professional mannerisms are very much appreciated in every production ,Thank You !
Personally, I got to visit the museum in 2013 and I remember it like yesterday. There is something people STILL can't seem to grasp and that is just how popular Will Rogers was at the time of his death. Just imagine three JFKs dying at once. When the news broke even the most he-man blue collar workers broke down and cried. He was THAT popular and loved. And now people are barely aware of who he is despite highways, schools, streets, and buildings named after him. If you read some of his quotes, you just can't believe their were written like 90 years ago - because they could have been written this morning, especially his political barbs. He is one very interesting person and I encourage anybody out there to read and learn about his life.
Another thing: "I Never Met a Man I didn't Like" is his most famous quote - and the most misunderstood. No, he didn't like everybody. He just meant he never PREJUDGED anybody.
❤ 🙏 R.I.P Will Roger's and family 🙏 thank you, Lamont for this fascinating, interesting story of his life! What an amazing soul this man must have been! Stay safe 🤗 ✌️ ❤️
I had always heard of Will Rogers, but never knew as much about him until you explained, so thank you for that.I also know that quote very well "I never met a man I didn't like "and its funny about what you said about I have especially when they are kicking me out of Walmart.R.I.P. Will Rogers and family and thank you for the history lesson Lamont,I learned something new today.
As always I enjoyed this very much. Very informative! My grandparents loved Will Rogers. They loved the man as much as the comedian. RIP to one of America’s treasures.
As always, Lamont, ALWAYS interesting. I think the Oklahoma City International Airport is named after him. I DO know it's headquarters for the Federal Aviation Administration. Or used to be. All air traffic controllers begin training there. I tried to get in there once back in 2009 or so. My goal was simply a business card with a person's name and number on it. You weren't getting in there. Without credentials. There's this building outside the gate. Went in there. Two guards with small machine guns told me I had to apply online. All I wanted was an ILS systems technician job. I applied multiple times. Never heard a peep.
It’s nice that almost 90 years after his tragic death that Will Rogers is still very well remembered. I also wish I could say that I never met a man I didn’t like. Lol
Hi Lamont, I made a comment on another of your older videos but don’t know if you saw it so thought I’d try again. If you are ever back in Oklahoma, there are some interesting graves at the cemeteries in Grey Horse (a ghost town now, Fairfax, Pawhuska & Hominy). The book & movie “Killers of the Flower Moon” is about the murders of many of the Osage tribe back in the 1920’s after they had become one of the richest people in the world after oil was discovered on their land. They had sold the land but retained the mineral rights. I was born & raised in Hominy till my teens. My grandparents property was connected to the “Indian Village” as it was called in Hominy. Their shares are called “ headlights”. You had to be a member of the tribe to receive these payments. The government at the time decided that they weren’t capable of controlling their funds so each one had to have a “ handler”who.of, course had to be a white man. Anyway, one rancher started secretly murdering members of the tribe to gain their head rights. They couldn’t sell them, they could only be gained through marriage & heredity. So now I’ve made this too long but it’s such an interesting time that I wanted to at least put a bug in your ear. 😉 I’ve just recently found your videos & really enjoy them! And yes, of course, I subbed! The towns I mentioned are all in northeastern Oklahoma, (Osage county), not that far apart. Thanks for your interesting stuff!
HI @debbiepatricm399 i think that when you say Will Rogers and Dale Evans you are referring to Roy Rogers as i believethat Dale Evans was his wife and partner both in his films and rodeos etc God bless you and your family and Happy New year ❤🎉

Yes, the man LOVED his lassos. I believe you can watch his film "the roping fool" during the museum tour. Went there years ago with my kids class( I think it's required in that county🤣) anyway, it was very interesting
I agree as I myself can only see out of my left eye! I would think that it would be very difficult for the pilot to see well! 😢😢😢😢😢😢 May they both continue to rest peacefully! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
It’s pronounced ooo-la-gah and his birthplace ranch is there and is another museum but was moved up the hill to it’s present location to keep it from being flooded and lost when the built oolagah damn and created the lake of the same name.

Great Job Lamont, Will Rogers was a American hero, Couldn't imagine a Greater American. This was 20 years before Alaska gets Statehood .

Great job, Lamont! Very interesting.
Hi Lamont. Great video!
If I'm not mistaken his son Jimmy was a country western singer years ago I want to say in the 50's and he had a hit called "Honeycomb"
The singer Jimmy Rodgers of Honeycomb fame wasn't related to Will Rogers, different parents and born here in Washington state in 1933.
Great Video Lamont. I heard his name but never knew what he did. Thanks.~!~~~~Sherry.
Route 66 was also named the Will Rogers Highway. Very iconic figure when it came to cowboys and showmanship.
Great video Lamont. I have a passion for the 1930s so this really hit the spot
Never saw Roger's final restingplace. Thanx

Not to speak ill of the dead but why did he think getting in a plane with a one eyed pilot was a good idea?
I agree as I myself can only see out of my left eye! I would think that it would be very difficult for the pilot to see well! 😢😢😢😢😢😢 May they both continue to rest peacefully! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

The way to pronounce Will Rogers' home town is Oo'-la-gah.
I get him mixed up with Roy Rogers sometimes.
He never flew Spirit
Will Rogers never lived in the state of Oklahoma.
Bothers me that he was buried in California and not in Oklahoma
😊😊😊😊
Hi lamont, good cowboy there, will Rodgers and Dale Evans
Roy Rogers and Dale Evans were husband and wife ❤🎉 God bless you and your family Debbie and Happy New year to you and your family
According to Lamont at Large " Live but not Alive, but though the grace of God I'm still alive" ( untill you live to be 100 years alive...then it's a curse ) 😮🤔😅
