Always good to go through figures and remember .... stopped collecting toys around 15 and gave them all to my dad to sell I am 21 now I wish I could look at some of them and hold them

Marvel Legends is my main collection. Hulk-Buster was over-priced just like Odin. I'm getting DragonMan but he's over-priced too.
I have older Odin and Hulk-Buster figures so I can pass on them but there isn't another DragonMan available. I am willing to pay but it's frustrating because I know that i am being taken for my money.
If you are looking at Hasbro pricing across the board, a standard figure was $19.99, a deluxe figure was $29.99, a standard two pack was $39.99 and a deluxe two pack(Juggernaut/Colossus)was $49.99. The price increase started out as a $5 dollar increase across the board so where does a standard deluxe figure get a $60 price tag? Wolverine/ Sabertooth 50th anniversary 2 pack was priced as though Sabertooth was a deluxe figure but he is on a standard marvel legends Omega Red body. Hasbro does an extra $5 or $10 on random products for absolutely no reason (other than greed).
A deluxe figure like Skaar should have been $34.99 but instead he is $39.99. The prices were a flat $5 more per item and now prices fluctuate wildly for absolutely no reason!
The price of plastic generally increases with the price of fuel. Fuel prices have been pretty stable but toy prices keep increasing. I'm not a genius but someone is taking advantage of a customer base. Putting an action figure on Retro-card doesn't add $5 to the price but occasionally Hasbro believes it does.

I truly believe that action figures are primarily for adult collectors. I believe new collectors come along but i believe they are few and are specifically focused on a particular product. The prices and complexity of today's toys are factors that will keep most children from experiencing many brands.
My mom and my sister are both teachers in Arkasas. I have not met a single parent or child in the last 2 years that collects Marvel Legends, McFarlane DC, or NECA Ninja Turtles. I have spoken to moms and dads on toy aisles and in comic shops, but more often than not, they are purchasing Spin Master or Playmates products for the kids.
This is a niche community that many people are ashamed to be a part of for one reason or another. I have collected my entire life and my family has always supported my collecting.
The average person can't transform a Transformer, so a child is going to get frustrated and move on quickly. And if the parents have no interest, the child has no help to learn the complexities of the toy.
My daughter is fan of Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia so i have bought plenty of McFarlane product. He's the only show in town for those particular Licenses. His only competition is Revoltech, SH Figuarts and Buzzmod. The only reason I know these brands is because I am a collector. You won't find them at Wal-Mart, Target or Ross. You may get lucky at GameStop but not likely. And they won't be $50.
She's almost 11 but her collection has more premium figures than mine. I wish she was into TMNT or something easier to find and cheaper. She is a collector but she doesn't buy any of the brands that are on store shelves most of the time. She's an adult collector.

Some collectors will never be happy lol. People complain about the engine of greed being too expensive. They say okay, let's do Giant man for $200. Then these guys complain about it too so they're like okay we'll do Dragon Man for $80 and they complaining yet again. Some dudes won't be happy until the shit cost tree fiddy.

Man Uncle Tim was trying to say Transformers from the 80s were better than today's Transformers. I'm like dude you be ranting about stuff you have no clue about lol. I had to remove his channel from my algorithm
