😮Wow! I know this was a DEEP dive into becoming a best seller. 🤔What do you think about the data? Has your experience been any different? 📚Also, is publishing on KDP worth it? Check out my candid thoughts in this popular video: th-cam.com/video/Tzy9wsNXw-o/w-d-xo.html
Sir keep doing what you are doing, I will say thank you first of all, because watching your videos helped me to publish two books on Amazon. Your tutoring is exceptional. Keep "informed".
Hi, Dale. Great video. My approach is to continue writing and publishing books and networking with readers who enjoy the genre. I'm taking the long game. Not focusing on riches and fame. I just want to write something readers can enjoy
Saved! So informative that I need to watch it over and over again. Now this makes me so interested! As my husband is finishing his book. But We don’t have any background on publishing.
Awesome! Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I’ve got you covered. So, if you have any questions, drop them here in the comments. I most likely have a video covering it or will cover it soon.
Hi Dale. Can you repeat what you need to include to get a clean link? The example you showed was over before I had a chance to comprehend. Up to what point do you save and then what do you ignore? Thanks for your efforts and how you update the information as things change.
I'll make it easier. 1) Go to your KDP Dashboard. 2) Find the book you wish to share. 3) Hover your cursor over "View on Amazon." 4) Click on the region you wish to share the link. 5) Copy the URL in the top of your browser. 6) Then, share that wherever you like.
Yes, in this instance. But, I cover that in the bestseller book launch checklist. Truth be told, I didn’t put as much into this launch as I normally would. I did the launch like this to illustrate a point.
I’m overwhelmed by this whole process. I’ve spent so much time researching self publishing scammers are starting to look good. Everyone you listen to on utube always has a product or program sandwiched in the middle that involves paying for something. I’m too old to go the traditional route. Do you know of a reputable self publishing company? I’m sitting on four ms. Ready for cut throat editing and have no social media presence on purpose. I’d consider it a success if it just got on the shelf.
Hmmm, I believe you’re asking for a done for you service. If that’s the case look into Book Launchers or Archangel Ink. If you want a specific platform to do it for you, then look into BookBaby.
Dale, I have a question: Sorry, I didn't follow something in your video. When your brother's book was at the pre-release 99 cents and you had around 8,000 sales in the U.S. and around 2000 in Canada - could you share how much profit you made - or was it all lost leader? Sorry, do you have the numbers for e-book only as that would have given you some profit since they were not printed books - right, Dale?
That wasn’t 8000 in sales, but in the ABSR. And I could swear I disclosed it in the video. It wasn’t much. Use Dave Chesson’s ABSR calculator at Dalelinks.com/calculator. At 99c we were only getting a 35% royalty. But, I’ll tell you across all three formats, we’ve more than made our investment back.
New Release are the books launched in the first 30 days in a niche. It's a way to showcase new books without them being buried by the older books or perennial sellers. Bestseller means you hit it in ALL the books both new releases and older content.
Hello, Dale! Thanks for your inputs. I have published my book on print but I have yet to launch my ebook. Would you advise that I still make a preorder campaign on Amazon?

Many times, when you try to publish something that is not EN based, or it is an unsupported language - you are basically ********ed. Doesn't matter that you have a kindle editor or not, there is no usable layout editor that only makes it possible to concentrate to your work and supports the path to make books. The pain is one side is nothing more just a plain text editor, and the other side is overflooded with features that you never will use in your life. IDK why software developers haven't noticed that task based simplified dynamic UI would be the best, or you have to learn every time new learning curves and that is a wasted time.
I see your struggle, friend. I think that's why KDP allows Word docs. Microsoft Word is a software that most people at least have a working knowledge of. They have really tried to make the learning curve less on their end. Also, Dave Chesson, over at Kindlepreneur, has a book formatting tool currently in Beta called Atticus and it's going to be a gamechanger.
@@DaleLRoberts I checked it, and I can only praise that. If gets proper linguistic support to many languages, and online translation support, that you can insert with source link - then all technical writers who are authors of multi linguistic manuals will praise too. The collaboration part will be huge, if you allow next aside direct voice support, because your hands are busy to type - but people like me who are living from multiple language translations, language book editions to specific speakers, language learners - would be pretty gamechanger. I fed up with beefed up "flyer editors", that can't follow my work, and doesn't organise for me or at least help in it, where I must hunt for all damn image legal rights and permissions - and if you work e.g. for kids illustrated books, no way in hell will you remember that every used source. If your software remembers and helps with your ideas, and chapters are cool, but I say it needs to have one place for notes, technical links as you advance where you can decide which one goes to bibliography, or just a note to yourself or your team of editors. What would be, if your software would have a function called insert as element...chapter, memo, or already page element with quick F1-10 keys pre-set of formatting....and just concentrate on typing. There is no such software currently, but Atticus can be. Add multi-monitor support, and people will be in heaven. Sadly, MS Word is PIA, because can't handle images properly, and at every reopening your file it will toss around the pictures randomly within the page, and that only causing trouble to KDP too IMHO. I used Affinity too, but that software pack is only for EN users, and no i18n support at all, even after years waited as I purchased many times. At least there is hope, and I will be able to edit and finish my language book, and dictionary where you can put Arabic text on one side and latin writing on the other on the same line without cursing software devs - as there is no software that handles multiple languages within one docs with correct grammar and features.
Boom! Great chatting with you tonight. I was about to pull out my hair, but you stopped me from that. This strategy will help you with your upcoming book launch.
Yep! Things like that. Sorry, but I laughed out loud when I read "porno books." I just call it "smut." I learned that phrase when working in the senior communities. haha Seniors say the darndest things!

You’ll know in due time. 😀👏👍
Great insight...thanks Dale! 😎😎😎
Glad you found it insightful. It’s not as glamorous as some people would think, so I’m hoping to build more awareness around this best seller status.
I'm loving the beard man!
It’s staying for as long as winter is around. I skipped growing it out last year, but not this year. All that to say...thanks. 😎🔥💪
Good stuff....gotta watch this again:):)
Awesome! You’ve got a a lot to work with here. 💪🔥
Hi Dale, one question here. Do you implement launch strategy separately on both versions - kindle and paperback or just on kindle?
Yes, in this instance. But, I cover that in the bestseller book launch checklist.

I may have missed it but how many sales did your brother make to hit #1 in the 5 categories?
19:19 I say it right here.
@@DaleLRoberts Wow about 30 sales to hit Number 1 sounds VERY do-able! It obviously differs per category but wow!
Is all of this in your complete DIY publishing course? I published on KDP but I’m ignorant of the advertising. And, I just bought Publisher Rocket...
Yes and no. This video is not in the course. Yes, I cover some of this in the full course.
Love your content. :)
Thanks so much for the kudos. 😀👍👏
Hi Dale. I recently (on Monday) hit #1 New Release in my category and #2 Bestseller in my category. What's the difference?
New Release are the books launched in the first 30 days in a niche. It's a way to showcase new books without them being buried by the older books or perennial sellers. Bestseller means you hit it in ALL the books both new releases and older content.
Hello, Dale! Thanks for your inputs. I have published my book on print but I have yet to launch my ebook. Would you advise that I still make a preorder campaign on Amazon?
That’s entirely up to what marketing plan you have in place, the following you have and your intent.
Self-Publishing with Dale Thanks! Watching your videos directed me to my specific plan.
Hey, Dale, what if I don't have any followers or email list? How do I go about it ?

You rocket and publish release lists in description are pulling errors. Thx for this vid brotha
John Theo Huh?
Self-Publishing with Dale sorry. Two out of the three links in description of this vid came up with errors.
I’m having site issues today. We’re working hard to resolve them and should have them working soon.
