Check out my insulin resistance meal plan video from a few weeks ago th-cam.com/video/RqxTQvDswcA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qHGpzz1uOGyklzry I give an easy framework on how to put together meals with examples 🥰
I eat cheesy scrambled eggs every single work day. I’m never hungry at work and never eat lunch. I learned that from you a few years ago and it’s so true!!! Thank you Kate!!! ❤
Thank you for video, I was Diabetic in 2018 with HBa1c 6.8, I treated my self with Diet (low Carb high good Fat) with Intermittent Fasting (Roza) now I am non diabetic with HBa1c 5.3 all without insulin or pills. Thank you so much for all you do and help us. I tested 5.7 last week. In March I changed my diet, getting rid of most of the breads, pasta and watching my sugar intake. I have lost 30 lbs. and 4 inches around my waist. I have my A1c tested every 4 months. My triglyserides have always been at a great level. I am 74 years old and have noticed a huge change in my 70's. I have to watch everything a lot closer than when I was younger. I do walk 2-3 miles every morning. And lift free weights at least 4 days a week. Still working on that pesky A1c though.
Hi Kaiti! I still eat 4eggs and two sausage patties every morning ! Not pre diabetic anymore but still trying to lower my insulin levels. Have a good day Kaiti, love you ❤
Hi Kait! Great content as always! I’m at the gym lifting weights by 4:30am 4 days a week. I eat my breakfast at 8am everyday. Trying to be consistent 😅. I also have insulin resistance so I’ve learned to eat a very high protein breakfast not just to help with building muscle but to keep me full until late afternoon and to keep my blood sugar under control. This morning I made a huge omelette with chicken sausage and loads of veggies. I also had 155 grams of seedless cucumbers with tuna salad. I ate everything! 78 grams of protein and only 13 grams of carbs. Delicious and nutritious!
I sometimes use a chocolate flavored grass-fed protein powder with some avocado, cacao powder, coconut milk, and stevia when I want to take a "break" from pature-raised eggs, low sodium bacon, and avocado. Thanks for the tips, Kait. Love your energy and insights!😊❤
I usually eat at 10 AM and 4 PM no snacks. I eat eggs with both meals coupled with steak, burger, salmon, liver, or sausages. No fruits and little vegetables. I do this about 6 days a week. Sometimes I have a glass of wine with my meal.
Love my eggs for breakfast with mushrooms and onion too. Whenever I’ve eaten oatmeal I always get so hungry a few hours afterwards, I do like it though so I make a modified version that’s lower in carbs with only a little bit of steel cut oats plus hemp and chia seeds, protein powder, a bit of coconut yoghurt and top with nuts and berries
Glad to hear this, there’s so much conflicting information out there. I’ve been eating scrambled eggs and two sausage links, the high fat meat corroborated by another site, but then was told sausage was unhealthy so I should switch to cottage cheese. I also was told that frying any meat including bacon, sausage or ham was bad. Along with the sausage and eggs I’ve been having a slice of whole wheat whole grain toast, but was told all grains should be out of my diet including any wheat like this toast, Wheaties cereal, etc. I’m definitely going to be making that mushroom and cheddar omelette, great idea, thanks. 👍
Also type 1 (LADA). I used to eat high healthy carbs and low fat, but my weight and insulin resistance increased steadily over the last 5 years since diagnosed. I have now completely changed my macros - still low fat, but also low carb and high plant-based protein. This is a game changer! I have lost 10 kg in 3 months, blood sugar is low and extremely stable, decreased insulin by 70%. I also go for a 15 minute walk after lunch, I no longer need insulin for lunch.
I like how you cut through to the hard truth, you're matter of fact style is encouraging and helps with my discipline. I actually think about you when I'm tempted with the bad things.
Very thorough information! What you’re saying is what I heard from a couple of other sources and what you share is worth following. Subscribed and looking forward to more from you! 👍🏾
I liked the little picture of the 2 cells showing the sugar storage. Made sense. I try to keep a few hard boiled eggs in the fridge for a snack or breakfast. Quick and portable.
I completely changed my diet after my heart attack and found out I was pre diabetic. I've been eating these exact foods and I'm already down 25 pounds! I was never obese, but I was overweight
I never eat breakfast or lunch I don't get hungry until 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. which I eat a big fat steak and then try and eat something around 9:00 p.m. usually involves eggs. Been having nice low blood glucose in the morning and very satiated but I do have some vegetables that I grow in my garden low 3:213:21 starch of course?😂 I'm a bit underweight and type 2 diabetic so it might be a little different for me
Great video… enjoyed the information… I wake up about 6am and have breakfast about 8am on average… I have two fried eggs with cheese on two slices of Sprouted Ezekiel bread and Greek yogurt with fresh blueberries or blackberries… Does this sound like good breakfast…? What would you recommend I add or even subtract from this breakfast…? Thanks. RayAA

And it means that if you try to cut down on carbs, you will go through sugar withdrawals for about a week or two - headaches, low energy, mood swings, intense cravings, anxiety, disturbed sleep, etc. This is the big thing that most people aren't aware of. They just thing carbs are something they like or are a family tradition so they aren't prepared for how difficult it can be to give them up. Carbs are seriously addictive. You beed to prepare to go through an uncomfortable detox period if you are trying to cut back on them. And, if you start eating more carbs again, it can trigger binge eating. But once you break through those two weeks of sugar detox, your whole life will become so much easier. Being free of those cravings is an amazing feeling. You can do it. I am happy to explain more or answer questions or address concerns. I have personal experience with this protocol and with dealing with sugar addiction.
