Great video Monty stay strong my friend. I was living in the Philippines in Catanduanes. After only 10 months I had a server stroke and was unable to leave the Philippines for another 7 months so this past December we were cleared to fly back to Georgia. I still cannot walk good or use my right side much at all. I know exactly what you are going through so stay strong you can do it. Love you man !!
I’m so very sorry to hear that, thank God we’re both still alive. I’m very happy you’re doing better. It’s a fight I know. Thank you for sharing brother you take care of yourself 💛
I will never live in the Phillipines or anywhere in SE Asia. Not a part of the world I would want to live in. But, for some reason, it fascinates me that so many retired men move there. Some live in the province, some in the city. Many go there to find a lady. Or just to get away from the US. It's all so interesting to me. Your story Monty is so real and honest and could be thousands of men's story. But you have overcome. I admire your fortitude, your resilience. Circumstances, not under our control, play a big part in why life turns out the way it does. God alone knows what's in the heart. There are rich men who are desperately unhappy. Some drink, some are greedy, some lie and cheat. Wealth is not a marker of one's character, only the ability to accumulate. Thanks for being you Monty. Love your family and your real stories of life. Keep it up!

Living within your means is very important. After my 3rd trip here I decided this was the place for me to retire but I didn't have any saving in the bank and only a small retirement plan from work. At 63 I took my Canada pension and between that and my pay I was able to wipe out my debt in about a year. After that is was save as much as I could. I had a goal in mind for what I should have in the bank when I moved here and fell short of that but knew if I stay in my budget I would be ok. I have managed to save enough since setting here to put back in my account what I spent in the first 7 months of travelling here. Not rich, no big income but I can live comfortably. My expenses here are way less then half of what they were in Canada. If I had of stayed there I could not have retired. You are looking better all the time Monty. Just take one day at a time and one step at a time. I know Aragel looks after and Faith will keep you young.

Hi Monty, Thanks for sharing your story as it is much appreciated. You have had your share of bumps in the road. I have been wanting to get to Dumaguete since last November. However there has been bumps in the road for us here as well health wise. I hope I can be there by June 🤞but time will tell. I hope that we can have a chance to meet each other after we setttle in a bit. Please take care and I hope to see you down the road. All the best with good health to follow you.
Good seeing you, Monte. I know several cities have people sharing apartments and renting rooms from others. That significantly reduces the cost of housing. Another thing to reduce costs in the US is to keep the same car for longer. Also keep the same cell phone for longer. A lot of people unnecessarily change cell phones every 18 months to 2 years. Many of the cell phones are expensive and those dollars really add up over 15-20 years.
I agree with you definitely. I’ve always had IPhones for my business. I kept my iPhone 6 for about 4 years. I have an iPhone 12 now that I bought in the states for $1,200. I could never afford one of the new ones it’s like $2000 now. In my lifetime I only bought one new car. I had a Ford ranger that I bought for 5K and drove it for five years putting 300,000 miles on it and still sold it for $1500.
@@crewfamilyphilippines so many people don't know how to manage their money. I'm using an iphone se3 which I bought 2 years ago. It was about 1/2 the price of the other new iphones. I think it came out a little before the iphone 13 did. The iphone se series is smaller phones with smaller batteries. I think it was $600. I like it. I'm hoping to keep it for 6 years. In the last few days I've stumbled on a youtuber who's about 30 who seems to really understand money. Many people would be better off financially if they listened to channels like his and applied a lot of what he says. I know a lot about money and even I'm learning from him. Thanks for responding. Have a good day. I like your positive attitude.
Good to see you Mr. Monty, glad to see you making another video. I said it so much that I just quite saying it, I wish I knew back then what I do now. LOL
Hi Monty, Interesting story you have. Yes it too bad about having the physical health conditions you have. Wish you the best. Our life's are kinda similar. I lived on a sailboat here at a sailing club for 120 a month to live cheap. Had a truck camper with a cargo trailer with all my landscape equipment and generator with electric roof vent and grated hole bottom on trailer to run generator and slept at Walmarts when I was working in Houston. I just happen to be online with a asian dating site banner came up and found about about the Filipino women. Kinda like going back to my young days growing up. Girls just wanted a relationship not what I met here later on. Money was big thing. So like you I have very limited income but do all right. I like the life I have. My Filipino family are all poor tenants living on a beautiful hilly land. It all works out. I see your wife family was just in Moalboal recently. I don't live in Philippines still live on a lake with a travel trailer where I have a permanent address. Thanks again for your story.
Yes, very similar life Fred. I’m happy you found a lady over here and you have a permanent address now. I hope you have a long and happy life brother. 😊
Your looking really good….my girlfriend has a baby girl and I will retire in June or July and my question is if we get married and I adopt her daughter will I be able to collect social security for her. I’m 69 and collecting about $3,100 a month so far.
Since the $700 of SS (social security) for your daughter will stop when she turns 18... would Aragel have to live with you in the USA for 5 or 10 years before she'd be eligible for your $1k of SS continue for her lifetime?
Hey was it super depressing living in that cargo trailer? No matter how well you had it set up, did it feel like you were a practically homeless vagabond? I don't mean this question to sound mean, I'm seriously wondering what mental health would be like, living in a cargo trailer with a generator.
Yeah, he never married her. They just live together. He finished remodeling the house but he claims that many people stop by his house because of our videos so he doesn’t wanna do a final video..
@@crewfamilyphilippinesGood to see you again, Monty. Interesting Jim bought a house for his girlfriend not wife. I was waiting for your final remodel video but now I understand why it wasn’t done. I’m happy to see you hanging in there. I respect your intestinal fortitude through life’s challenges. Nobody ever said life was going to be a walk through the park. Hand in there. Tom
Thanks for the good honest video. You're a survivor, a lot of us out here are, it seems to be the American way, we work hard for the family just to have a sick women take it, sad... it happen to me also, killing your sole just got to me because it happen to me also I never had words to describe it but now I do, that is exactly what happens when they take our kids to...Oh, and I really appreciate the honest budget, SS $1080 per month strait up no BS. It gives guys a real marker. Blessings to you and your family Willie & Bernadette Bacolod City BRGY Tangub
If I were married & my wife could find a guy with 22 million, who would take her, I'd pack bag her bags hahaha, not many of those guys out there! But seriously, I'd imagine he's already cheating on her, considering she found him while she was married to you & with 22 million, it's nearly impossible to pass up that kind of temptation, especially for a man who would steal another man's wife
He had a wife at the time too, who helped him build his business. She was the school teacher for 25 years and she had a heart condition. He planted crack pipes around the house, hidden behind the toilet etc. then he called the police and claimed his wife was a crackhead. So she lost custody of the children to him. She only lived a couple of years after the divorce. He is a bad guy. They are both cheating on each other now enviable. He’s going to give her $500k when she leaves and $6k per month. Knowing her she will blow through that money in a year.
I don't understand how you worked in the USA for so many years and saved so little. What have you done with all your wages in the usa. And ended up so poor in the Philippines.
@@ricke6854 I went through a divorce. It was in 2007 the economy went to crap and I lost all my investments. What I didn’t lose you took through the divorce. I had to pay $1100 a month in child support along with another $700 a month for alimony along with Insurance until January of last year. So both you and Andrew have your answers
At least your happy now with your family in the philippines, its the biggest blessing of all.

Living within your means is what I’ve been trying to tell everyone. I was making big money at my job, in the States. But I wasn’t saving like I should have.
Lesson learned.
Now that I’ve retired to live here in the Philippines, I have a small budget to take care of my Wife and Step-Daughter. In the past month I’ve been trying to teach them budgeting.
That’s a very interesting question Unfortunately I don’t know the answer I apologize.. but I am happy you found a nice lady to settle down with
❤🙏👍

Since the $700 of SS (social security) for your daughter will stop when she turns 18... would Aragel have to live with you in the USA for 5 or 10 years before she'd be eligible for your $1k of SS continue for her lifetime?
Yes, but Aragel could not collect my Social Security until she’s 60 years old.
👍👍👍👍👍
😊💛
Hey was it super depressing living in that cargo trailer? No matter how well you had it set up, did it feel like you were a practically homeless vagabond? I don't mean this question to sound mean, I'm seriously wondering what mental health would be like, living in a cargo trailer with a generator.
I really only slept in it the rest of the time I was pretty busy. Plus, I would take it and park it down by the lake on the weekend sometimes.
what happen to your friend Jim? he was building his house a year ago. he married a filipina.
Tom
Any way contact?
If you were talking about my contact information, it’s in the description of the video

Blessings to you and your family

Yes Willie losing your kids is one of the worst things. I’m sure you’re much happier here now. 💛
90/101
I don't understand how you worked in the USA for so many years and saved so little. What have you done with all your wages in the usa. And ended up so poor in the Philippines.
👍🏻
I was asking myself the same question : What did this man do with all his money ?
@@ricke6854 I went through a divorce. It was in 2007 the economy went to crap and I lost all my investments. What I didn’t lose you took through the divorce. I had to pay $1100 a month in child support along with another $700 a month for alimony along with Insurance until January of last year. So both you and Andrew have your answers
