Thank you brother. It is sad so many men get hurt along with many women get hurt by men. It’s very hard to give someone your everything and get taken advantage of. My 20 year old son wants nothing to do with marriage after witnessing what his mother has done. He said that he doesn’t want to give half of everything that he has earned to a girl who decides that after a few years that she wants someone else.
It can happen any kind of women. Filipinas too and very often. Better to remain single

Thank you for sharing your story, Monty. I’m sure it was literally hell going through it and also working a grueling schedule. Consider yourself a survivor of a traumatic divorce. I had a friend who went through something similar at age 42 and ended his life. I’m happy you survived. Take care.

I can relate to your story, Monty. I was also cheated by my (Filipina) wife and when I divorced her I lost my house in the Philippines. Fortunately I had made her sign a prenup which stipulated that she could not get any of my Belgian assets. So it was a cheap divorce on the Belgian side, but my house in the Philippines is hers now.
Good move. The house may be a bargain since she can't (easily) say she wound up worse off and claim you used her.

I had a girlfriend many years ago that had “The Jezebel Spirit”. She hid it for as long as she could. We were off and on for 5 years. Most times she would come crawling back putting on a good show crying things like “I need you in my life”.
Looking back, I don’t know why she kept coming back. (Or why I had any faith in her after what had transpired). I just kept thinking that “she’s got to grow up some time.
It never happened and I finally moved on. Praise God almighty it didn’t get more entangled than that. That was plenty enough.

You are the best Monty, you are always so considerate and kind. Divorce is not easy and your journey although so very difficult, you made it. Your ex-wife was a force of evil and I ask if she was an American. Your son is probably just like you and your concern for him justified. Your son is worried about his mom and although she is not deserving, he will probably continue to hold her close to his heart. Hopefully he will have the upper hand by creating boundaries with her. Would he have an interest in moving to the Philippines. I always wish you and your loved ones well and hope your heart remains full of love and respect for people and life.

Been there done that two times got the t-shirts. Lucky for me I didn't have to go through all that you went through. I did end up on the winning end of the first divorce but had to wait a few years and the lawyer let her get away with paying less. I call him and said wtf is that and he just said it was the best I could do. Can't trust ex's or lawyers. Maybe I am better off single. Glad you have a good one Monty.

Im a licensed therapist with a master's degree in Psychology specializing in Addiction Behavior and Childhood Development. One issue with Bipolar is a person has a uncontrollable need to put themselves in a High Risk Situation. There is High and Lows in Behavior that a person has to seek out abnormal behavior and actions. Your Wife did not cheat on you based on Sex but it was her need to seek out unhealthy behavior. Some people go out looking for a fight or put themselves in a situation that could be dangerous like drinking in a biker bar or picking up a hooker in a bad neighborhood... someone who has bipolar are not acting out based on something a partner does and they need attention more than a average person. This is not a issue of you being a bad husband or she was a bad wife. You both were in a relationship that is very hard to deal with and there was too many outside sources that affected this relationship
That’s far behind me now 14 years. I have a wonderful wife now. I learned from my mistake. Thank you for your great thoughtful input.
