    All 7 things be practice. With that you don't really need anything else. These are all electronic band aids to fix problems that are occurring from improper handling and operator error

    For the CB350 I learned on. Knowing how to set up the kick starter(the battery was forever dying so the electric starter wasn't always usable) is the knowledge on setting up the kick so you don't dislocate your knee when kicking it. Takes a bit of practice but is learnable. Computer assisted aids? Hehehaha no such thing when I started. Nanny-assist did not exist in the eighties and I think I am better for it.
    Geesh even in the '90s the overheat of bikes in traffic was a real thing even for liquid cooled bikes like my '93 ZX7(best bike ever IMO). Sure, it didn't overheat but to be sure the battery went dead with the electric fan running 100% of the time at idle. Now what do you do with a dead battery? Hmm. Just live and learn.

    On the 1st item.. All the electronic aids (like ABS or traction control, etc..) can be really counterproductive, when talking about developing, maintaining and improving some good riding skills & habits and especially, when considering these in regards to new a/o unexperienced riders. In general, these aids can be of some HELP to good riding skills, but cannot FIX or SUPRESS or CORRECT the bad ones. Please keep that in mind 🙂
    Ride hard & ride safe.

    Was not a fan of BMW bikes. But decided to go to a demo day just for the sake of argument. Road the BMW F900r (naked sport bike). Fell in love with it. Best bike I have been on. I've owned a Z900, and GSX-S750, and a MT07 for comparison. That BMW gives you all the confidence in the world. Maybe even too much.

    i tried a quick shifter for the first time, and it felt like its sole purpose was to get the bike to go as fast as it could as fast as it could! it was NUTS! im glad i did NOT have it when i started! bad habits! haha

    I agree with everything you pointed out, unfortunately my bike ( Vulcan s 650 ) doesn’t have the option for the majority of the options! I have found one safety item that is affordable and works for me, it is the brake free helmet mounted stop/tail light. It is wire free and fewer people tailgate me now since fitting!

    If you have an air cooled Harley you do not need a heated seat. The rear cylinder makes the seat more than hot enough.

    Rain mode is for people who can’t ride without assists. You lose less than 20% mechanical grip when it is wet. Bearing in mind you’re never riding at 100% when it’s dry, you can safely ride at the same or slightly lower speed in the wet and the tyres aren’t just going to slide out from under you.

    Meh... I've been riding for over 40 years, and other than a Comms system, I wouldn't have a use for any of those things. If you need a bunch of bells n whistles on your vehicle, maybe a bike isn't for you. And no one should be on two wheels in inclement weather.🤦🏼‍♂️
    Other than the heated grips - which I've NEVER used - and the ABS system on my R1150RTP, or the fuel injection on my Dyna, none of my bikes have silly gizmos.
    But to each their own, I guess. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @spartanx169x
      @spartanx169x 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Traction control is not a silly gizmo. You don't have to like it, thats your choice. But its a great rider aid. Riders can and do make mistakes, The BMWs and Yamahas both allow you to adjust the rider aids, so as your skills improve you can adjust them. Driver aids save lives just like your ABS.
