Thea Valencia Hi Thea~ For me, mindmaps are only effective for visualising the structure of a chapter, or for remembering short yet important information. Hence, I usually make one mindmap at the end of studying a chapter, just to recap everything. Usually I’ll read these mindmaps on exam day as it is really effective for recalling information. I don’t use mindmaps during the ‘actual’ studying/note-taking process as I like to remember the full phrase, and not just keywords. Writing full phrases and long sentences in mind maps just makes it too cluttered and crowded. It’s all up to personal preference~ Hope this helps! ✨
Aww, luckyy! I've tried them before and LOL, they're definitely not for me :,) I wrote about 6 pages of pretty notes and gave up since I have exams coming up with absolutely no time.
i also tried making my notes aesthetic and colorful, and it stressed me out! now im incorporating colored pens and highlighters but only to section a huge chunk of notes i take from my hundred pages worth of readings. it doesnt matter to me if my notes are all over the place as long as i got all the information i need, and i understand what im jotting down. feels good i have someone i can relate to

I tried doing the aesthetic notes because I thought it would help me on the long run, but it's true that it takes extra time. You spend more time rewriting it making it look pretty than actually studying the notes themselves. I'll try doing this new and improved method of taking notes. Hopefully this will help me take notes better. Love your handwriting! Thank you, for the wonderful advice again!
3:01 if anyone is looking to save paper you can also split the page into two parts and note separate concepts in each of them if there isnt a lot to write

This is actually a very good improvisation of the Cornell note taking method. One that I could use for heavy load science classes I attend. It also incorporates previous year questions, so that's one benefit already.

I don't really feel motivated to study despite knowing that my grades are not good since I do not have any method any studying and some tips I learned do not work for me, very time consuming, and not effective. But learning from you, I am encouraged and found fun to study and take notes following your method.

I cringe at how much time I have wasted trying to create colour coded “works of art”… which I later realised was a combination of procrastination/OCD/ADHD 😅 I would literally rewrite the same things over and over again if I wasn’t happy with how it looked etc (ouch). I think this will be a lot more efficient and help me stay focused, and spend less time on trying to decide on note themes and layout. Thank you! It’s tough being me 😅

Improved Cornell notes : I make 2 section one in the bottom where I write
questions and above I write notes of what is said and textbook notes
