whenever i write notes i suddenly memorize everything i wrote, but when after a month I NEED to make them again so maybe I am just dumb or I just love to make notes
The key is to reinforce what you wrote. For example, on the 5th you wrote and memorised your notes. You then need to study the same notes on the 6th, 8th, and 15th - so a quick study the next day, then 2 days later, then 1 week later. It doesn’t have to be in-depth - it’s just a way to tell your computer system (brain) that this needs to be stored in the memory bank.
If y’all are looking a a efficient way to study for a test and remember the material I recommend your own made flash cards. It really helps me and it could help you.
Here's one more tip- 🌼 step 1: make your own test using your textbook/old papers/ internet / notes 💮 Step 2: study for very less time and answer the test like it's a real one with a timer 🌼 Step 3: now that you've answered the test, correct it and check for how much you already know and what you don't. 💮Step 4: after marking all the answers/ questions you don't know, learn them using flashcards/ mind maps/ writing them down/ diagrams 🌼 Step 5: answer the test again. 💮 Now, keep repeating the last three steps until you have got your desired results. Hope this helps ❤️
if you want to take notes like this, go ahead. but if you feel pressured to make them look pretty because of social media, just make it simpler!! i've been using markers, pens, highlighters and notebooks from random shops for a really long time, and they take me a long way. even a piece of paper and a pen will do the trick!!
I’ve been for the past year adapting my note taking skills because at first they sucked and looking at yours really helps give me inspiration as well as a good direction for what I should get this semester around.
ok so the people saying "you dont need to spend $100+ on supplies just for notes" she's only telling you how she personally is taking notes and telling you what she uses/what she thinks is a good quality of supplies, doesn't mean you HAVE to buy it, it's just a recommendation edit 1: ok people i do not mean this directly at specific people i'm just saying in general that a lot of ya'll make it seem like she's over spending and telling you that you have to buy that specific stuff no no no, it is not directed at specific people, no i am not going to answer replies from now on, mostly from people saying "oml you got the ViBE oF mY cOmmEnT wrOnG X3" like, i never said it was your comment specifically did i? AND in one of the replies i said "some" comments, not all of them, some comments. i never said any names, i never tagged anyone, just chill people im just sharing my point of view edit 2: i love how this little comment war has been going for 3 months and people are still replying, it seems like people on here really like assuming that i'm hating on their opinions, im not! all i am saying is that S-O-M-E comments just sound like they've gotten the impression that she's telling you that you have to have those specific things to study, and if i'm being honest yes there is some cheap stuff that are good quality but it's mostly expensive stuff that have the best quality. Take rings as an example, cheap silver rings make your skin go green, and proper good quality ones are expensive and dont make your skin go green, just think of it as that. its just the same as rings, more expensive is most of the time better quality, so just calm down karen and take my opinion and register it into your head.
Exactly. This video obviously wasn’t directed at people who don’t wanna spend a lot of money. She’s literally sharing what she does🤦🏾♀️ people are annoying
i agree! on a lot of similar videos i see people commenting like,, "my notes aren't this aesthetic i don't have the motivation to study." which is really sad to see because for the 4 years i've been following the study community i noticed it's just largely based on consumerism- the most expensive highlighters, pens, etc. (which are of course of better quality,, but it's not an absolute necessity in my opinion). to me, i still make my notes pretty because it keeps me accountable for studying, but a lot of people tend to misunderstand that they can't perform well without these stationeries :/
the comments aren't hating... they're just telling people that's it's okay if you can't afford it tbh just let them be, some people who can't afford it exist like me and it helped me!
just paused the video to completely AGREE on the pentel energel recommendation. the best pen ever. super lefty friendly, pretty colors, thin lines, writes like butter... as someone who suffers from some pain on my hands I have always hated handwriting notes in class because at the end of the day I would be SUFFERING, but as soon as I switched from wooden pencils and crusty ass ballpoint to gel pens and sometimes fountain pens I found I actually can enjoy note-taking! if you have any kind of pain around your hand area or find you cramp up after note taking look into some better pens. as a good rule of thumb, the less pressure you apply with your writing utensil usually translates to less pain. in order of pressure you have to apply, it goes from wooden pencils to ballpoint to gel to fountain pens. this is because of varying types of ink and tips! if you want to look into fountain pens, i recommend using a pilot kakuno as your first one. good pens save hands!

YOUR HANDWRITING IS A FONT- AAHH WHY IS IT SO PRETTY 😩😩😩😩 Edit: yall pls stop saying her handwriting isnt nice. I know, its your opinion, but like if you have nothing nice to say about anything then just dont say it 😐
Also a tip: soft ring notebooks are also a good choice as your hand wont hurt when you accidentally place your hand on the rings as they're plastic :) Sadly they're a bit expensive to me
Basically, writing notes helps a lot for organization and memory. As your hand might hurt while doing it, it has its benefits. And it’s easy to not forget. So, writing notes is the best route to go, instead of storing it in your memory, which can be forgotten later.
Hi!! idk if you'll take the time to read but this is how i take notes in a fast lecture!! i usually just leave space for the title and get started with the first subheading on a line and then leave a line and do the body!! continue and then after the lecture take a highlighter and highlight subheadings and do the title while revising the notes!! Hope this helps!! ps; stationery recomendations if your on a budget-- nichecho dual tip brush markers!! its like ohuhu x tombow!!

I just think for writing notes you shouldn't write slow its better to write normally and use your natural hand writing it takes so much practice to write neatly and at the same time fast
Tbh just make your notes so that it highlights important stuffs and it's clear enough to be read by you. If you spend 3 hours on making aesthetic notes you barely have time to study for the next day.
i remember when i used to care so much about the aesthetic appeal of the notes and bought everything these study youtubers recommended. now im too busy in my last year of high school and only use a cute ass mechanical pencil and thats it. you dont need fancy things yall, only buy them if you think it will make you happy but in the long run i limited my stationery collection so much

pov: ur here to find positive comments to motivate you but all you find are “guys you don’t need such expensive stationery, last time i thought so too and…”
yeah like i wanted some motivation and actual positivity in the comments, but it’s all just “guys you don’t actually need this” like i know that i just wanna make my notes look not as messy as i used to do them 😭😭 some people need to realize that not everyone is here for the expensive stationery, some of us just want to know how to organize our notes better and not just put random stuff in random places of the page
Ok lemme just write one, I have adhd and often am not motivated to do so much, what helped me sit down and do homework is to aesthetize my notes, it does take a bit longer than if I would sit down and do it normally but I know damn well I don’t ever sit down and do the notes without getting distracted UNLESS I add stickers and drawings. I highly recommend some of these expensive brands too because they last longer and they just make me happy bc they’re so smooth. I also really recommend the muji notebooks as their paper is smooth so they don’t leave ur fingers dry after a long while of rubbing your fingers against it and taking notes, this can be good for anyone with sensory issues like me. And tbh, writing down ur notes in different aesthetic colors and adding symbols actually makes ur mind associate different sections not your notes with that symbol which can help you remember more. This may not apply to everyone but it does for me so shrugs :3
As someone who's normal handwriting is cursive, it's odd to watch someone write 'normally'. I remember when I wrote normally that I had questions on how people wrote cursive, so I will answer some here incase some are wondering I often pick up my pencil throughout a word and will simply continue from a line if pausing is needed. Yes, I struggle to tell the difference in my; 'o's, 'e's, and 'a's. With some words, like 'with', I prefer to have the 'i' at the end of 'w' instead of making another letter thingy I often forget where the 'i' is in the word, and put the ' ` ' on another letter. I accidentally put the tick on the letter 't' on l's, d's and b's too often.
i want my life to be a little aesthetic and more organised but in reality, im just doing fine the way i am rn cuz i know neither me nor anyone can handle keeping everything so perfect...
hi guys I just wanted to tell y'all that you don't need really expensive items to take good notes that can help you get good grades. sometimes getting less expensive items to take notes can be just as effective as if you were to buy pens/markers/notebooks that are pricey. I'm not saying that "you should never get expensive things" I'm just saying that a cheap pen can get you a long way. also not spending lots of money on stationary can save money for other things you might be interested in, just something to think about : )
tip: what i usually do is basically focus in class and annotate on a piece of paper (a4 sheet) or my rough copy or my textbook itself then i go back home and review the info learnt. after that i write notes on the topic based on the textbook info and the extra info the teacher gave us. it really helps ❤️🩹
Reminder that aesthetic notes can be more than just motivation, it only depends on your mindset! If you focus on the actual info more than the aesthetic, it’s guaranteed that you’ll get good grades
Fr. I’m one of the top in my class but I don’t have aesthetic notes. Before, I would get grumpy on why my writings were bad and ugly. So, I would just print things out. Still works for me but now, I want to try and improve my note taking skills.
heres a good tip for slow writers: scribble (not literally) everything down on a scrap paper and on free time you can transfer that neatly into books but you dont always need the most perfect notes, i do think your notes should be neat enough that its legible though ^^
Guys, y'all don't need to makes y'alls notes like this. Remember, these notes are for you! No need to make it all pretty, and buy expensive stuff just for it :) Though, if you need to then do it. Whatever makes it easier for you to study, if it helps you get more motivated to study then go for it! You do you, though there's no need to :D
Me: loves the style of notes your doing Teacher: No! You have to take 2 collum notes. Also me: gets bad grades because the notes are hard for me to study by.
you guys this is giving ideas not saying "you should buy it because it definitely you need it" not she is just recommending it. And mechanical pencils or the wooden ones and a few highlighters and a pen can last u a whole school year.
If your notes are a bit messy during a fast lecture, like mine lol, you can switch out between notebooks if you have the time. So you can have a messy notebook and a nice notebook that you copy the notes onto so you can organize them and better understand them (along with just making them pretty).
I remember watching this when I was just starting out as a freshman, and now I could say that aesthetic notes with expensive stationery WILL NOT get you good grades. I was so determined to be aesthetic back then that I forgot to actually study and learn the material 😭 The amount of coverage in college won’t give you enough time to do this, so I say just write in chicken scratch, use flashcards, and annotate the REFERENCE BOOK your professor uses (this is important). Heck, you can even skip the notes and just listen to the lectures thoroughly. Take this from someone who’s studying a STEM degree and now running for latin honors.💜
I doubt anyone will see this BUT if you're writing things down in class while the teacher is talking don't worry about how things look, just make sure you get the information down. As for stationary, I just save up my dinner money for college and then when it comes to purchasing items, I prioritise, like what do I desperately desire to buy vs what’s practical and useful for the long run - so for me buying the Tombow brush pens is a desperate desire, but I wouldn’t buy them until I’ve fully mastered and learned calligraphy, vs buying the zebra Sarasa pens or the muji notebooks - both have practical usage as I use coloured pens a lot and the muji notebooks are really good,
Also if you live in the UK, idk about the rest of the world 😩 but I’d assume it’s roughly the same, purchase the muji items of their website rather than off ebay or Amazon, like the muji notebooks for a pack of 5 are only like £2.95 or something so it’s really affordable buying them off the website, tho bare in mind if you’re having it delivered, delivery costs vary (for me it’s an additional £2.50 for delivery)

whenever i write notes i suddenly memorize everything i wrote, but when after a month I NEED to make them again so maybe I am just dumb or I just love to make notes
Omg sameeee~
Spaced repetition is key
maybe try to re-read them 3 days after you write them and in general review the material once a while
The key is to reinforce what you wrote.
@@pluspluus re-reading notes is almost ineffective. Better trying to remember everything and then looking at the notes.

now that you mentioned that, I can't unsee it !!

If y’all are looking a a efficient way to study for a test and remember the material I recommend your own made flash cards. It really helps me and it could help you.
yes i love using quizlet
Absolutely!
Does it work?
Here's one more tip-
🌼 step 1: make your own test using your textbook/old papers/ internet / notes
💮 Step 2: study for very less time and answer the test like it's a real one with a timer
🌼 Step 3: now that you've answered the test, correct it and check for how much you already know and what you don't.
💮Step 4: after marking all the answers/ questions you don't know, learn them using flashcards/ mind maps/ writing them down/ diagrams
🌼 Step 5: answer the test again.
💮 Now, keep repeating the last three steps until you have got your desired results.
Hope this helps ❤️

if you want to take notes like this, go ahead. but if you feel pressured to make them look pretty because of social media, just make it simpler!! i've been using markers, pens, highlighters and notebooks from random shops for a really long time, and they take me a long way. even a piece of paper and a pen will do the trick!!

ok so the people saying "you dont need to spend $100+ on supplies just for notes" she's only telling you how she personally is taking notes and telling you what she uses/what she thinks is a good quality of supplies, doesn't mean you HAVE to buy it, it's just a recommendation
edit 1: ok people i do not mean this directly at specific people i'm just saying in general that a lot of ya'll make it seem like she's over spending and telling you that you have to buy that specific stuff no no no, it is not directed at specific people, no i am not going to answer replies from now on, mostly from people saying "oml you got the ViBE oF mY cOmmEnT wrOnG X3" like, i never said it was your comment specifically did i? AND in one of the replies i said "some" comments, not all of them, some comments. i never said any names, i never tagged anyone, just chill people im just sharing my point of view
edit 2: i love how this little comment war has been going for 3 months and people are still replying, it seems like people on here really like assuming that i'm hating on their opinions, im not! all i am saying is that S-O-M-E comments just sound like they've gotten the impression that she's telling you that you have to have those specific things to study, and if i'm being honest yes there is some cheap stuff that are good quality but it's mostly expensive stuff that have the best quality.
She’s literally sharing what she does🤦🏾♀️ people are annoying
tanks 4 agreeing :>
Exactly, some people are really channeling their jealously. It’s the way SHE takes her notes.😒
i agree! on a lot of similar videos i see people commenting like,, "my notes aren't this aesthetic i don't have the motivation to study." which is really sad to see because for the 4 years i've been following the study community i noticed it's just largely based on consumerism- the most expensive highlighters, pens, etc.
I think you're handwriting is what makes all the supplies look good
just paused the video to completely AGREE on the pentel energel recommendation. the best pen ever. super lefty friendly, pretty colors, thin lines, writes like butter...
as someone who suffers from some pain on my hands I have always hated handwriting notes in class because at the end of the day I would be SUFFERING, but as soon as I switched from wooden pencils and crusty ass ballpoint to gel pens and sometimes fountain pens I found I actually can enjoy note-taking!
if you have any kind of pain around your hand area or find you cramp up after note taking look into some better pens. as a good rule of thumb, the less pressure you apply with your writing utensil usually translates to less pain. in order of pressure you have to apply, it goes from wooden pencils to ballpoint to gel to fountain pens. this is because of varying types of ink and tips! if you want to look into fountain pens, i recommend using a pilot kakuno as your first one.
good pens save hands!

th-cam.com/video/ALhhosofmiE/w-d-xo.html
Basically, writing notes helps a lot for organization and memory. As your hand might hurt while doing it, it has its benefits. And it’s easy to not forget. So, writing notes is the best route to go, instead of storing it in your memory, which can be forgotten later.
this video makes me wanna take a bunch of notes for no reason, your books look soooo neat and it makes me wanna study lol

Hi!! idk if you'll take the time to read but this is how i take notes in a fast lecture!!
i usually just leave space for the title and get started with the first subheading on a line and then leave a line and do the body!! continue and then after the lecture take a highlighter and highlight subheadings and do the title while revising the notes!! Hope this helps!!
ps; stationery recomendations if your on a budget-- nichecho dual tip brush markers!! its like ohuhu x tombow!!

GURL WTF I LITERALLY DON'T HAVE THAT PATIENCE TO WRITE SOMETHING... i respecc

@@beomgyuniverseofficial preach also took me back to 2 years ago

I remember when I wrote normally that I had questions on how people wrote cursive, so I will answer some here incase some are wondering
I often pick up my pencil throughout a word and will simply continue from a line if pausing is needed.
Yes, I struggle to tell the difference in my; 'o's, 'e's, and 'a's.
With some words, like 'with', I prefer to have the 'i' at the end of 'w' instead of making another letter thingy
I often forget where the 'i' is in the word, and put the ' ` ' on another letter.

If you focus on the actual info more than the aesthetic, it’s guaranteed that you’ll get good grades

heres a good tip for slow writers: scribble (not literally) everything down on a scrap paper and on free time you can transfer that neatly into books
but you dont always need the most perfect notes, i do think your notes should be neat enough that its legible though ^^
how in the world is your hand writing so freaking amazing...????
I just use a big ball point pen and lined paper BUT you really have every thing organized and acctually reread your notes
Guys, y'all don't need to makes y'alls notes like this. Remember, these notes are for you! No need to make it all pretty, and buy expensive stuff just for it :) Though, if you need to then do it. you guys this is giving ideas not saying "you should buy it because it definitely you need it" not she is just recommending it.
