Hey, this question has been asked already and I can see it would be a popular one so you never know, it might be coming soon! You can definitely use a mixture of income and savings if you don't quite meet the financial requirements on income alone. It really depends on how much you are short by but you need to have a minimum saving of £16,000 for it to be counted towards your application. So to work it out... (Amount of savings - 16,000) / 2.5 = x 18,600 - x = amount of income needed to to be earned. So say you had cash savings of 20,000. (20,000 - 16000) / 2.5 = 1600 18,600 - 1600 = 17000 So you need have an income of £17,000 per annum

Hmm, it will depend on why neither of them is working. You may qualify for exemption of you are unable to physically work for example. Another route would be to have £65,000 of cash savings in your bank account for at least 6 months. This does not have to be yours either, it can be "gifted" but as long as it has been in the account for 6 months, that's enough to be able to use it towards your financial requirements. I also know that they accept other things such as a pension, any assets that you may have but I am not sure how you can use them towards you application. It is definitely one for a solicitor if you find yourself in that situation.

@@shafirohman2331 It really depends on what you are earning because you can make the difference back with your savings. If you are working, it doesn't have to be £65,000 of savings, it can be a minimum of £16,000 but you need to figure out how much you are short by before you know how much your savings needs to be. If after all that, you cannot afford to keep your partner then you should be able to apply through a third party (not sure if that's available with an extension but it is for the first application so I don't see why not). The only thing with a third party is that you will not be on the 5 year route, but will instead be on the 10 year route. So it is still possible but you will end up making 4 of these visa applications in total before citizenship, which is so much money!

Me and my girlfriend have been taking screenshots of a 6 page conversation each month, a photo of us whatsapping each month, all video call logs that are 6-7 hours a piece and stocking piling photos from 3 holidays so far along with family. I'm planning on proposing next year and also got permission from my landlord for her to live in my apartment. Is this good enough so far? What else do you think I need? I earn way over the needed requirement and she has over the 16k in savings anyway. It's so paranoia inducing :( I think tickets are important but I only have ones saved on my end but she has invoices from emails for when she came here twice so far.

It sounds like you have quite a good amount of evidence (actually more than we had) which is great! I also have a video on what we evidenced for our accommodation, it is slightly different to what you will need as I was bringing my husband to live in my parent's home: th-cam.com/video/H3ax5MOxlE0/w-d-xo.html. A letter from the landlord is good, I would suggest you provide them with your tenancy agreement also and a months worth of any bills that you pay (gas, electric, council tax, etc). The environmental health report is not needed if it's just you who lives in the property. Hi, sorry to have missed the self-employed out. I can only speak for my situation really. With self-employed, they look at a full years income which I am sure you know. I don't see why you can't show both of your incomes as it is still an income/earning at the end of the day, no matter what way it has been earned. I can't see it being an issue but if you want to know for sure, it is definitely worth asking an immigration solicitor.

Hi! I started collecting my wage slips and bank statements from 6 months before I wanted to apply. Also during that time, I would recommend you put your screenshots together and begin to draft any letters your want to submit (such as sponsor or applicant letter). When I get to the 5th month, I began to collect everything else so that they are still within 28 days when we submit and that is also when I began to fill in the application form.

Hi, we applied after 33 months but you can apply after 30 months if you wish, it should not affect your application as 30 months on initial application and 30 months on flr will total 5 years
