I'm an old-school tool and die maker and I'm in awe of what has been developed in the last thirty years. I'll be first to say that the "good old days" weren't all that easy when it came to producing parts with extremely wild geometry. Take a long look at many of the consumer and industrial products produced over the past 50 to 75+ years and you'll see what I mean....lots of simple lines and features.
That's just it. Not only is it making it easier/cheaper to produce parts, but it's making what was previously impossible possible to produce now. Imagine what this'll do if somehow it could be adapted to metals!
I actually liked the tag line of the company "stop prototyping and start producing". I am quite curious to know the polymer resin used and another triggering methods we could use other than heat.
One of differentiators of Carbon vs other 3d tech is the ability to manipulate the mechanical composition of resin at the molecular level. They will design the resin for the product, they reverse engineered the building process. That is where the real breakthrough is in my humble opinion.

This video did not answer my question and instead it created more questions like: 1. If you shine an UV light like that, it should make a cube but i didn't why? 2. How can liquid plastic turn into solid when contact with UV light? What is this liquid plastic? What's it made of? 3. How can this "window" only allow light or oxygen to go through? How does this window work? Wtf is it made of?
1 , its a kind of screen it only projects what is going to be printed , not the complete surface 2) there are several liquid resins that get hardened by UV light (from liquid to solid) ; 3 I think that´s carbon´s biggest secret !!!
In the video comments the slice of image, the 3d figure is nothing but a mass of 2d images so ultra violet light projects a sliced image to resin, a liquid mixture of polymer and photo initiator then it become solidify. And if you have a job related to Chemicals, it is common sense that oxygen slower or interrupts liquid resin to be cure, they usually inhibits oxygen by filling the curing zone to nitrogen.
