Given that there are or were 126 H6 cars (roughly 21 trainsets) in the fleet according to Wikipedia, im not sure if whether or nor they will be completely retired by January 2014, this depends on the TR train delivery process.
Bradley O'Brien now is the time to request more Hawker Subway cars to be saved before all are gone this is a shame others where not kept in storage These bring a lot of good memories back to Torontonians and Canadians across the country while visiting Toronto over the Years these are classic Canadian built and English built cars
EVEN IF DRIVERS CAN START A POOL TO SAVE THE HAWKER STYLE SUBWAY CARS TO SAVE AS MEMORIES ..PAY TTC SCRAP VALUE ...THIS IS UPSETTING SCRAPPING WORKING SUBWAY CARS IN TOP SHAPE
exactly TTC waste money where not needed those trains could have lasted much longer but poor management need to clean out house get new people in that know how to run a transit system
Other than applying there is not much advice I can give to working for the TTC. Try looking at the online forums such as the CPTDB (Google it). That might help you out more, good luck!
the H4, H5 and H6's ruled.

I certainly miss the old H6 cars :/ too bad they were retired. I loved that single seat and I could sit alone and enjoy the ride peacefully
CPRailEnthusiast Yes true, not much variety left now!
The H-6's are the only Hawker (H) series trains in service in the TTC subway system.

TTC should keep some for special occasions and events .the people still enjoy the Hawker and UTDC brands and also Gloucester all hard workers
Brian Sokoloski That would have been great! Much like how New York still has a historic fleet.

Why do some H6s have black paint on their headlight area?
