Geez, I cannot believe how simple this was. I had my blinds for 2 weeks and they were 'off' by like 1'. I did this 2-3x quick - and they are fixed. Videos this well-done and HELPFUL, restore my faith in TH-cam videos when seeking help / answers. Thanks!!!!!
BS. Still working on it and it’s not releasing the jacked-up side. About to give up and chuck the whole thing in the trash, it’s frustrating and stressful and I’m getting tired of people’s advice not working.
@@hobomike6935 it did take me a few attempts. But I just looked and ‘yes’ it’s lower on one side 🤦♂️ I’ll try again and see if it works again 🤷♂️ It honestly did when I hung the blind…
Just about to give up and send my new blind back but watched your video and it worked first time. You’ve saved me a lot of hassle thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge.
This is awesome to look at. I was to adjust all 10 of my blinds in 5 minutes. Quick easy fix. It is not going to get any better than this. Thanks a million. I am very pleased.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think it could be this easy. I had tried that myself when I hung them initially and gave up, but I just wasn't doing it aggressively enough. And like the other comments, I believe that IS key. Really appreciate this!
Thank you thank you thank you!!! I have lived with an uneven for a while now!!!! Not being a professional, I thought I had really messed up - with 1- yes 1 blind out of 8 blinds!!! This is crazy! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Thank you SO MUCH!!! When watching your video I thought that is not going to work. But I tried it right away and it DID!! Unbelievable! And you are an excellent teacher too!!! Thank you!
Thank you!!! I was getting ready to order all new blinds, even had them in my cart, & with your help I fixed the problem in less than 30 seconds. Wow!!😁
You are a genius! Thank you so much! The other instructions I received were onerous and I could not have done them by myself. You made my OCD so much better. Thank you!
My blinds have been bothering every single day for 8 months and I finally had the thought of searching for a solution on TH-cam. This was the video that first popped up and I literally did it WHILE watching this video and mimicking his method, within 3 seconds, my blinds are perfectly straight. The feeling of shock and instant gratification is the best! Thanks!
This just happened to me over the weekend. One of my blinds were curving and I was moving out up and down. I tried your trick and it absolutely worked! Thank you so much, you helped me out so much with this video!
Visited my son today and the first thing he ask is how to repair his cordless blinds. If it wasn't for your post yesterday, I would have been clueless. Thanks as always Scott!
I'm glad I came across this video while exploring your channel! I was just dealing with the same issue with my blinds, so thank you for the helpful tip!
I've been wondering if this would work but was afraid I'd just mess them up so never tried. Finally got fed up & found your video, tried it on my office blinds & it worked! I'm about to go around the whole house 😆
First time having cordless blinds and it was driving me nuts how uneven they were. I tried lifting them up all the way and pulling them down slowly and evenly to no avail. My partner said that it was just the nature of blinds and unfixable. After watching this video, I fixed it in a minute. Thank you.
Absolute mind blown... I'm like yeah right because mine looked stretched from one side as if it were loose. It looked so tacky and was nerve racking. My blinds are also very wide and i gave it a shot and IT WORKED!!!!
I didn’t realize that it was this easy! 🤦♂️ 3yrs ago we bought a used Camp Trailer & there was 1 blind that was crooked!! 😤 This fixed it first try!!! 😃🎉
This was a way easier fix than I was anticipating when I first hit Google. Thank you so much! Moved into a new place and the crooked blinds were such an eyesore.
Nice! This worked with my 2.5" blinds with about a 6" slant on them. I did this trick 2 times in a row and it fully corrected the issue. Thanks for the video!
They you so much, this apartment complex put in these cheap as* blind's, and ai couldn't figure out how to let them down.. I was lost before your video, thank you so much!!❤❤
This is so simple I can't believe I've never thought to try it! I usually like to trim mini blinds to length which as you said also would take care of it, but I've been putting off doing that to fix a set in the kitchen that's been crooked since it went up. Fixed now, and I suppose I can live with some extra slats at the bottom.
Thanks so much! This worked really well! I had no idea how to fix the problem and was afraid I had to open the top casing. But your solution absolutely worked!
Ok, the aggressive pull is key! Couldn’t get one of my blinds even, even after trying to raise one end and lower the other. But saw this, tried it with an aggressive jerk and voila! Fixed! Thank you SO much!
Thank you for this tip! It worked great. One of my blinds gets stuck part way down and I don't know how to fix it. Is there a way to fix that? I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!
Good grief…where have you been the past 12 years!! I’ve taken my blinds down, tightened the string, replaced the crooked blinds…with blinds that were even WORSE! I decided today to take them down but found you just in time!! Thank you…THANK YOU!!!!
Does this work for blinds that are crooked at the top when open? I did try this hoping it work but not having luck with it. Perhaps I am not pulling hard enough? Suggestions please!
🎉 You don't even know how ecstatic I am right now! I had 3 blinds with this issue in the house I bought. I've been waiting to buy new ones since money is tight. I watched this video and fixed all three!!!!! 🙌🏼 I just have another issue ... Some of them won't go up all the way. Do you have a video on how to fix that issue?
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. Can you advise me on how to repair a broken string. It's one that goes through the middle of the blind.(on one end) I've been struggling to find any information on how to fix this on the cordless blind. Thanks
Hmmmm, might be hard to repair the string with a robust fix. Are you able to find a matching blind at your local home improvement store? Often if you are dealing with 1" vinyl blinds it is easier to just swap out opposed to fixing.
Amazing! One of my blinds had been slightly crooked for years and I was putting off adjusting the strings. This trick worked in about 4 minutes. Thanks!
Thanks Ralph, yeah these type of videos don’t have broad appeal but really come in handy for those who have the specific issue. Thanks for the support 👍
We have Levolor cordless blinds with the push button for lifting from Lowes. Overtime a few of the blinds have started not pulling down far enough to cover the window and its slowly getting worse. You cant pull them down any more no mater how much you try.
On mine, the string had jumped the spool in the (spring loaded) take-up mechanism and then slightly wrapped itself around the axle. It took some time and patience to fix. I nearly blundered in a way that would have realeased all the tension. Fortune prevailed. The only damage, if any, was to the topmost slat (that may have already been broken). As I was prepared to replace the blind, pressure was low. Out of maybe three previous attempts at this kind of repair, I think this was the first success. Good Luck.
For those who have roman shades -- this works, but it's easier and more precise to reach behind the blinds while they're open, grab the strings near the top rail, and do this motion directly on the strings themselves.
Thank you! I have another problem with my cordless blinds. When raised, they curl towards the window. When I close my sliding window, the blind catches on the window frame. I have to move the blind to close the window. Annoying. Can you help?
Ocd doesn't mean "unsymetrical things drive me nuts" It's more like "if I don't fix my blinds my neighbors will talk crap about me to my boss and I'll loose my job because I can't keep up my house, then ill be forclosed on and live on the street" then proceeds to fix all the blinds on your house, knowing full well you don't even have neighbors, and you sure don't have a job that would ever know or care about it
This is a chronic problem on a 68 inch set of blinds. Would any type of lubricant help to stop one side from persistently binding, e.g. - wax or voilin rosin?
the left side is very tight and the right side is loose. This happened after I shortened the blinds, and at first I had taken the string out of the plug on the left, then realized that was for a corded blind after I couldn't get the string out of the right plug and checked another video. After that the left side cord kept wanting to move up (and left several of the remaining slats) while the right side of the blinds remained loose. It was a huge battle. I tried to even them out as best I could, but the end result is, nice shorter blinds but the left side remains 5" higher. I tried your method, very hopefully, but no success, unless I am not pulling hard enough on the left, though it's so tight I'm afraid something will break.
Thank you thank you thank you. What an easy fix. I was ready to take my mini blinds down, rehang them or take them apart somehow and probably throw them in the trash😂😂. This was super easy.
How about a video on how to fix vertical blinds where the strings snapped. That happened to me and no video I've found tells me how to put the cord back in.
Thanks for the video tip. I believe this tip will only work on cordless style blinds where you push up or pull down the blinds itself. Corded blinds are more difficult to balance because of the cord mechanism.

I’ve had uneven blinds for months now and I can’t believe it was this simple!!! I was thinking I would have to replace them completely
It worked perfectly for me. Thank you for the easy fix that would have taken me forever to figure out on my own.

I am still stumped why the manufacturers don't call out this fix since the problem is pretty common 🤷♂️
Thanks so much! This worked really well! I had no idea how to fix the problem and was afraid I had to open the top casing. But your solution absolutely worked!
Excellent!
Worked on the Home Depot Home Decorators 2in faux wood blinds. Thanks a bunch!
OMG thank you! Easiest and quickest fix so far
👊
Thank you for posting this, worked for my top-down bottom-up blinds as well.
Happy to help 👍
Thanks this was really helpful I had to read just one sentence from your video and it solved the problem.
Thank you Sir!!! Worked like a charm and you demonstrated it perfectly!! Again…Thank you!
Amazing. This guy is a real MVP🙌
This was helpful, the unevenness blind drives me crazy. But should the blind be open when raising and lowering?

Will this work for blinds with the string that you have to pull to raise and lower?
The best trick for fixing this problem!!! Thank you!
My top one is just not even enough and just had a new string ! Would this work and make it even or i need to bring it back to him ?
This worked! Very cool and simple!

Any tip for adjusting motorized shades?
When you're a little OCD about things such as uneven blinds, this is the cure for it!
Ocd doesn't mean "unsymetrical things drive me nuts"
It's more like "if I don't fix my blinds my neighbors will talk crap about me to my boss and I'll loose my job because I can't keep up my house, then ill be forclosed on and live on the street" then proceeds to fix all the blinds on your house, knowing full well you don't even have neighbors, and you sure don't have a job that would ever know or care about it
@ “RGragg5071”….I feel you man!
Thanks for posting this! Getting ready to show our house. Nice that the blinds will not be crooked when others are walking through :).
I tried your method, very hopefully, but no success, unless I am not pulling hard enough on the left, though it's so tight I'm afraid something will break.
to clarify, the shortening was done following other videos, and my end result led me to your video.
when I pull the left one down all the way, and they are even, as soon as I let go of it, it jumps back up the 5"
Worked quickly & easily. Thank you!
Will this work for blinds that look level when extended but are uneven when retracted? When I raise mine the left side droops about 3 inches.
I actually don’t think this technique will work for that scenario. Sounds like maybe you have a malfunctioning retraction mechanism on 1 side 🙁
This worked perfectly and was very quick. Thank you very much.
Your solution worked very well for me! Thank you!
Glad it helped!
that was WAY too easy lol!! thank you!! great video
What a Legend, so quick and easy, thankyou!!
You bet!
Thank you so much! this was extremely helpful, I just fixed mine in a matter of seconds.
You bet!
Ty ty!! I was trying all kinds of things and this technique worked. Did not want to have to call the landlord about a crooked blind 😂
No doubt, it is a super common problem. Happy to help!
Man you just made my day keep up the Great work 👌🏾👋👋👋👋👋👋
I didn’t know it was this simple wow 😮 thanks !!
What if it doesn't want to go up at all and when I manage to get some up, bringing it down has a lot of tension.😊
My first thought was that is couldn’t be that simple. I tried it and it was that simple. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!!
Thanks for the video tip. I believe this tip will only work on cordless style blinds where you push up or pull down the blinds itself. Corded blinds are more difficult to balance because of the cord mechanism.
💯
Honestly. Thank you! This was driving me nuts in my house 🙌🏽
Here to help 🙌
Solved a lingering irritation in three minutes. Thank you.
This method worked great! Thank you! 🎉
Worked like a charm. Thanks!
Praying for a video on pull-string-less blinds that won't go up after being pulled down 🙏🙏
