  • After a few years of use our blinds started to get pretty crooked. We tried adjusting them from the top, but some of our blinds were really stuck and we didn't want to risk damaging the paint and frame so I figured out a way to level them from the bottom.

Thanks Ryan. My kitchen blinds have been annoying me for years and now they look great. Much appreciated!

While mine didn’t have the same mechanism, thank you for the confidence to go and find a string to tighten! That blind has been crooked for months! Fixed in minutes.

Thanks so much for posting this fix! Was ready to purchase five new shades due to left-sided sag. They now look brand new!!

Thank you for this video!! These appear to be the Home Decorators Collection from Home Depot, which is what I have. I could find NOTHING before about how to level this type of shade. Some brands have an adjustment tool, but these have SOoooo many cords going every which way that I had no idea where to start. My shades are level now : - D

Thank you for the post!!! I’m a perfectionist, (to the dislike a many family members) and I tried to fix a similar problem I have. Your video is very useful. Regards from Monroe, NY.

Wow so good. You didn’t show how you wrapped it around…I’ve got the same issue lol

Ah, sorry it I didn't show it very well. Hard to get the right camera angle. Basically, I just got some slack going from the cord that I needed to shore up, and wrapped it between 2 of the little pegs inside. I think different models might have different hardware, but basically, whatever you can wrap it around, or even grab a small piece of plastic or paper and tie a loop around that with the slack, just so the cord is tighter there.
      Hope that helps!

Levolor cellular shades are not made like that, unfortunately

Ah, sorry it didn't work out. If you want to try a slightly different method, try getting a paperclip or something small that you can twist the line around just a little bit to make it tighter where you need it. If that doesn't work, you'd have to try to remove the shade and level it from the top. Best of luck!
