A lot of good info. I can put 78 inches in the belly of my trailer which is most any full-size truck and a lot of vans. And that’s if I don’t air the tires down. I can also put two sprinter vans on my top deck.

I ended up going with a TP ez 4 because of its versatility, i can haul 4 cars or haul 3 big cars, bigger cars often pay premium, and nit have to worry about heights and deal with that hassle
We run a mega cab Dodge dually with a 3 car wedge hauling show trucks, No CDL No DOT card. Never had anything said to us. Once had a DOT cop ask us about the show trucks at a gas station while he was on duty haha never ask for CDL or weights of anything. Ur the man Dave

I started with a wedge trailer and they definitely do have a few advantages. I just got tired of the limitation on income for the same number of hours worked in a day so I went up to a seven car and have never regretted it.
What are you pulling it with ?
I was pulling my wedge with a 95 KW W900. If it fit on the trailer I could haul it.

I love your thought process on way the three car hauler is a great Business model. I am learning tons of inside information, so I can make some really good decisions based on the vast knowledge and experience you have. It is super greatly appreciated thank you so much. Looking forward to learning more. Question mark what would be the best truck set up for a three car hauler? What type of gearing should the truck have? It makes so much sense because you are not limited ,to car or truck size to put on a three car hauler . Their is so many ways a person can go with different combinations of different types and sizes of vehicles.
I do have my CDL with Hazmat endorsement and my TWIC card to get into ports.
I’m considering on buying a single axle sleeper to haul a five or bigger car hauler. My question to you is ,can I make a little more money doing it that way as opposed to doing it with a pick up truck and a three car hauler.? I really do like the three car hauler idea as for all the options that I can work from.

What would you recommend as far as trailer goes and not having issues with DOT? Could I get a 5 car trailer and be okay with weight restrictions? Would you stick with a 3 car?

Hi David. Nice video. Question. I’m getting back into the business again I have a CDL and I use to be a convoy combat trainer for the Military. Before my accident I ran a dodge 3500 and . I had the take 3 triple axle 3 car wedge trailer. But I had to get rid of it due to an industrial accident. I’m thinking of getting back into the saddle.I was thinking of getting the Sun country 4 car hauler and a Dodge 5500 but an older one with the Isean automatic transmission. What do you think about the Sun country 4 car hauler wedge trailer Metro 40 foot model.with dually two axle Would you take that over the 53 foot unit that has the 3 axle. I’m just thinking of meanuverability and efficient operation . Thank you brother

Look at your class rating on your drivers license and the weight you can haul. It all depends on what state you live in. Class c, class b, class a. I think in class b you will be alright to answer your question.

I would never run a day. There is way to much that changes in this industry. You think I will be all local and if not hotels are convient. But they arent if u have cdl sleeper all day

I can run empty pretty cheap not going to haul stuff to just cover fuel not in business to cover fuel I make money or it doesn’t get loaded. Dallas to Kansas City for 280.00 not for me

I dont haul cheep freight. $0.80 mile I haul 53 foot step with a KW and wont touch the door handle for less than $2.25 mile. Maybe the cost for wedges is much less. I was thinking into A wedge with my 1 ton but now rethinking it,.

Wedge if you’re serious about car thing. Flatbed is versatile to where you can haul freight if you need to.
3 car unless you have big accounts less waiting around to fill 3 vs 5+
IMO it depends what kind of work your doing and where. I live in southern California and there's no way I'd use anything less than a 9 car hauler. You're just cuttin yourself short on money. But, 95% of my work is local. I pick up all my cars in 1 spot, literally takes me 45 minutes to an hour to write up all the cars AND load them. It takes me 30 minutes on average to unload all the cars. The furthest I usually go is 2-3 hours away. I charge between 50-150$ a car. Depending on how far I go. The only upside I see to having a smaller setup is less maintenance and cheaper to get started. There's way less that can go wrong compared to a bigger trailer. Which I've had my fair share of repairs. But to each their own. Whatever fits your lifestyle best.

Guys get cars for local dealers in MA for $60. I can't make that work in my books. I never got 1 car ever under $1/mile and I do 300 miles average one way.
The decision about what car hauler to get is complex.
Dave you can run a 5 car like a 3 car though.
I can't load 3 trucks or 3 vans on it. Trailer its self is 44ft

Cdl is
5-6 car trailers gross $10k+ weekly
7-8-9 car trailers gross $15-$20k weekly
Why bother with a 3 or 5 car hauler when I can just buy a Peterbilt 348 5 car hauler?

To me the 4 car stacker is a horrible design. Same as 5 car except you have shorter hydraulic lift. And less then a 3 car wedge when lift is down

@@rickanthony530 it depends on the setup with my first truck i could put anything on it. Really depends on the weight if the truck. The trailer is 6500lbs usually
