the gc8/gm6 chassis is by far the pinnacle of subaru design. I love my JDM MY95 WRX, with chassis stiffening braces, suspension upgrades and a few bolt ons its an absolute blast, i can't imagine what it'll be like when i take it down the route this one has taken. Loved the video as always, David; even more so when its a subaru!

I am not sure if Car Content people realize this, but when fans see car content people team up every once in a while they really like it. Yeah 1320 is from there and take a deeper look into Omaha and surrounding areas car scene and you will be surprised by amazing cars/trucks that come from there. I mean Trucks like Parish. You are in my old stomping grounds. I hope you liked the area, it's a bit flat and kind of laid back but not too bad of a place to visit. In that car scene when I was in it, there were so many amazing and surprising builds there.

I can't imagine iat's are worth it. It's a minor thing but Im going to go ahead and say that one intake for a headlight is race inspired cosmetics. Not functioning enough to justify having one headlight. It's not a blob eye! Be greatful and leave it alone. Less is more

Beautiful car, sweeet sounding. AllPro Subaru in Alpharetta, GA was doing a STI conversion of one of these a couple years ago. Sold my '02 WRX last year that I bought new, 208K miles. Had some issues the last 70K but I figure that's the cost of keeping the car you love for 17 years. Replaced with it's '05 twin.

Tbh this body style was the first car I ever became obsessed with but the 4 door sti. Like kid me was in awe when one of those drove by me for the first time, the sound and the dark green factory colour with those iconic gold rims.

Always thought the rear end of the RS lacked a bit in aggressive-ness compared to the front! It’s a little unconventional, but I think the aftermarket tail lights I ended up putting on mine add just the right amount of “oomph” to it

I have a 00 rs coupe NA screamer set up for the road, and a 95 impreza wagon thats for rallycross. These cars are ridiculously fun, they can take a beating and are still winning rallies around the world
ive almost got my 02 legacy up to 300whp 330lbft with a single cam forged sti hybrid build. I am using the rs single cam heads with forged 257 block. Its a freaking blast and hardly anyone boosts the 3rd gen legacy so its nice to have something thats different
David! Come by Misfire Motorsports in OKC. Shawn Abedi has a 950whp Hawkeye and they built the “Dung Beetle” for AZN. Incredible shop, Shawn’s an awesome guy and his Hawkeye is FAST.
If Subaru released this car today, I would 100% buy it. I want a GC8 in this color with the gold BBS rims. Throw in a FA24 motor too and I'm sold. Dream car, dream goals.
Mmm I would caution against "checking out" off the line performance. My cousin took his car there for a big turbo/ engine build and they had his car for TWO YEARS!! it was stored outside the entire time. To add insult to injury, he suffered catastrophic failure on the way home from des moines to eastern Iowa. My cousin contacted them about it and they "declined" to stand behind their work. I helped my cousin pull his engine after the fact and They didn't even bother to clean the engine bay before they threw the engine in! There were still dried clumps of mud from three years ago on top of the engine cross member. Shitty workmanship everywhere, FPR was held in place zip tied to the main harness, shit like that. When I pulled the spark plug out of cylinder #1, coolant came pouring out. When I drained the oil, it looked like a caramel milk shake. I feel really bad for my cousin because I pulled him into the Subaru scene and his experience with Justin and Off the line is absolutely disgraceful. I'm sure justin takes very good care of his own car and his high profile customers with alot of social media clout, but he certainly didn't give a fuck about average guys like my cousin.

Cody Nieman it due to lack of payment, so talk to him about that. It was filthy from rallycrossing it. The coolant i have no idea about because i never saw it. It made 20 pulls on the dyno and I personally drove it. What happened when it left is outside of my control.
I got a 16 sti & as nice as it is to have had a warranty I often think I would enjoy an older model more. Part of what I liked about my current sti is it feels like driving an older car but it feels a bit big. The older body style was so simple, something many car companies have moved away from. I never noticed before but it kind of resembles a Corolla from the early 90's with a thicker booty.
This isnt jdm. And if it was he wouldnt be able to do a hood exit anyways since the clutch master cylinder is in the way. No room to flip the downpipe and youd need to have extremely restricted size of piping just to go around it unless u did a relocation

Yes a lot of subarus are assembled in the US now like Acura which is also considered JDM. And having little room has rarely stopped someone from doing what they want to do to their car. This person just rather the clean look which is what i was appreciating.

I used to own a 94 Subaru legacy turbo and it was so fun to drive and the noise of the turbo was so pure. I had to get rid of it cus it was impossible to find even basic parts. I now own a 2013 Cadillac ATS with the 4 banger turbo and even though it’s much faster it’s not as fun to drive and I find myself missing that old bucket from time to time😁
That black headlight looks like a patch, I imagine the Subaru saying something like “ You see what happened to me? An Evo did this to me while street racing”
The key to this body style is two major things Subaru has not figured out to replicate again. The weight and the visibility. The engineering has improved interior parts, stiffer frames. They couldn’t get the light weight and visibility again. Is a true classic not to mention it’s a coupe.
This probably won't happen, as its lower than the Evo, but I'd love to see a Lancer GTS reviewed. (Yes, the reason I ask it because I have a GTS, I 'd just like to hear his thoughts on them)

Being from Europe that styling is part of the reason why I disliked the bugeye when it came out. At least initially. Now I like the bugeye because I am stateside and the bugeye was the first wrx in the US. Go figure. But the 2.5RS with an STI swap? Yes please. So much yes. Over all the subies that would be the one I would like best. I still snap my neck when I see a 2.5 RS.

I would have used one of the unused fog lights for an intake rather than lose a headlamp for no reason.

The head light intake adds 4mph trap speed and around 3-4psi of boost at speed.

Miss my black 98 RS 2.5. I bought that car new and put a lot of sweat and tears into it. Was such a fun vehicle for the money

I now own a 2013 Cadillac ATS with the 4 banger turbo and even though it’s much faster it’s not as fun to drive and I find myself missing that old bucket from time to time😁

That black headlight looks like a patch, I imagine the Subaru saying something like “ You see what happened to me? An Evo did this to me while street racing”
The key to this body style is two major things Subaru has not figured out to replicate again. The weight and the visibility. The engineering has improved interior parts, stiffer frames. They couldn’t get the light weight and visibility again. Is a true classic not to mention it’s a coupe.

The reason I got into Subarus 💪🏻
Being from Europe that styling is part of the reason why I disliked the bugeye when it came out. At least initially. Now I like the bugeye because I am stateside and the bugeye was the first wrx in the US. Go figure. But the 2.5RS with an STI swap? Yes please. So much yes. Over all the subies that would be the one I would like best. I still snap my neck when I see a 2.5 RS.
How about a WRE JBB billet block swap, that would be the shit..
