Wazzu and OSU got screwed the most, and it’s not close. Not only did they get left out in the cold after everyone else abandoned ship, but they also are looking at about a 40% budget reduction for athletics.
Should the ACC implode, it is likely that a few teams will be just as screwed as WSU/OSU. But until that happens, the Cougs and Beavs are unquestionably #1.
I would agree that WASHST and OREST are at the top of the screw list; however, the ACC is unlikely to end up like the PAC. The ACC is likely to survive as a Tier 2 with the BIG12.
The BIG12 has already imploded, but it survived as a Tier 2 when the PAC didn't.
Worst Realignment move ever was Georgia Tech and Tulane leaving the SEC. For Tech it did not immediately hurt them and they did win a national championship in the ACC but the move overtime has been bad.
@@upshawjohn94 I think Georgia Tech got kicked out of the SEC. They probably wouldn't have left on their own
@@nighthawk467 Both schools left for academic reasons. You can look it up on the internet. Temple however was kicked out of the Big East.
ok. All I had was hearsay and Wikipedia so I didn't know what was true
Texas and A&M being back is a rare realignment W
Oklahoma's advantage over A&M in the Big XII came down to coaching. The Sooners knocked it out of the park with Stoops. While the Aggies stumbled through with Slocum and Fran. Then Mike Sherman came in and actually did a solid job of closing the gap against OU. A&M won 2 out of the last 3 meetings against the Sooners thanks to teams that Sherman built (Sumlin was the HC in A&M's last win). Also, 2024 Texas A&M IS NOT 2000's A&M. Totally different monster with the new facilities, money etc. If Sooner thinks history's going to repeat itself (and I know they do), then they're in for a rude awakening.
Love this format, Paul
How can “rest of ACC” be on the list, nothing has happened lol your list implies realignment has occurred, has not happened in the ACC. Very confusing lol
Yes, there are test patterns like this (minus the wiggle.) I agree with your #1. We got screwed.
Breathtaking
Totally agree, you on point with this subject
From 1975 to 2011 it was A&M 21 and tu 17 in football. Being a military school for so long and NCAA didn't have scholarships limits. Big schools like tu would give anybody a scholarship and sit them on the bench instead of having to play against them.
Utah is the school that recommended that the PAC 12 reject what was offered in a 30 million per year media deal, based on one of their marketing professor's opinion that they should hold out for 50 million
I find that situation ironic because the same deal the remaining pac schools rejected because of Utah, ended up being roughly the same amount the pac schools going to XII are getting
The PAC died as a Tier 1 due to demo/cultural changes in the footprint. It died as a Tier 2 because it failed to acknowledge flight risks and overvalued itself even after USC/UCLA gave notice.
You've Earned My Respect
San Diego State robbed
Lucky they didn't join the Pac
Embarrassed themselves with the request for an extension but it would have been really funny if they actually joined the pac and then ended up back in the mw or the PAC-3

Rutgers brings the B1G huge money numbers by being the only team in the NYC metro area. The networks were very excited going from "NYC to Chicago to LA". No RU, no NYC.
Nobody in NYC cares about college football; same thing with LA and Chicago tbh
If that were true, the B1G would have bidding like crazy for Stanford and Cal, to get the SF market. But the SF market watches pro football.
@@djnfbrhkelkondwvb6853 LA cares about USC (when they're good at least.)
Rutgers is not in B1G for football reasons. They are there because of research money, that dwarfs anything they could bring in with football for the conference.
Wow one of my favorite
Magnificent

Well the Pac12, Oregon State and Washington State are obvious. Texas A&M still gets to be in the big time, they just have to compete. And the ACC will be fine. Even if Florida State and Clemson leave they will have to write the conference a huge check. And the ACC will backfill with the best G5 teams they want.
a) To where would CLEMSON and FSU go?
b) The ACC will eventually deplete down to the BIG12's Tier 2 level.
c) The ACC has already preemptively backfilled.
You Made Me Smile
Absolutely love Your video , Goodnight I Hope You have a superb Day tomorrow
If Houston is not #1 on this list, it is not legitimate
How so? They are in the Big12 now. Oregon State and Washington State are homeless.

If you are right that only schools that bring larger viewership numbers will matter, doesn’t that mean the Big XII will contract as well? Which Big XiI schools will get left behind in contraction? Does contraction mean the school is also out of the conference in basketball?
What are you rambling about?
a) The BIG12 has already depleted out. Of the original BIG12, I suspect only KANSAS and perhaps OKST or WVU have a relatively decent chance to make the eventual P2 cut.
b) The effects of the P2 consolidation on men's basketball remain unclear. The BIGEAST is a "P" and it has no football.
These "Top Five" vids are gold! Nice job on this one, Paul. aggy male cheerleader prancing and 'hitching' is correctly defined (even in sec) as "just weird". also, acc members say that the value of the conf is already 'devalued' by tv gods as if clem and fsu are gone (try and understand that one while lucid!)
" the value of the conf is already 'devalued' by tv gods as if clem and fsu are gone (try and understand that one while lucid!)"
It's not hard to understand. The ACC's deal was called "terrible" on Day 1, which in context can only mean substantially below market value.
Also, the stated basis for the new CFP payout was success during the 4-team era. The ACC was as successful as the B1G, so the new payment clearly has been adjusted for expected depletion.
@@tarheel7406 TV gods value conf content, incl acc, & offer $ based on that "content" which as of this moment, includes fsu and clem football. Noone held a gun to swofford's head to accept. Have no idea why you're whining about 'terrible' deal. Don't like it? Change, like FSU and Clem ++ are doing.
@@user-qh5rm4hi4k Again, the ACC's contract is known to be far below market value. It can tolerate some depletion without the the ACC falling below the discounted contract rate.
Contracts can't be unilaterally adjusted without terms that allow it.
Again, none of this is hard to understand.
@@tarheel7406 Just because you wish it, doesn't make it so. Swofford took best offer for acc content which included fsu and clem football (we now know he lied to those schools about more $ incoming to get them to sign the current grant of rights.) Noone held a gun to his head to accept the $ - just as noone held a gun on larry scott re: pac12 deal. Figures don't lie but liars figure.
@@user-qh5rm4hi4k I can't explain any better. I will try to simplfy more. A great deal on 12 doughnuts remains very good if it drops down to 9.
The ACC's current media deal is known to not reflect the actual value of the conference. Depleting from the top reduces the ACC's value, but likely not below the current contract rate.
In my opinion the big 12 got screwed the worst besides wazzu/ORST. Because of Texas’s greed, we’ve lost aTm, Nebraska, Mizzou, and OU. All 4 are big brands that could’ve elevated us to be close to the level of B1G and SEC.
On top of that, OSU lost it’s only rivalry game of the year. Tech, TCU, and Baylor lost the Texas game
Yep... The BIG12 has lost all of its big football brands, all of its big brands other than KANSAS, dropped in average academic standing, and lost all of its upper rights.
"Because of Texas’s greed". Explain how "texas greed" destroyed the Big 12. Name ONE...only one rule that texas voted in favor of that wasn't also voted yes by Nebraska, Oklahoma, and A&M. Always loved the irony that Neb and A&M ran away crying after voting lockstep with texas for unequal revenue sharing...but of course it's all mean ol' texas fault. I swear some of you have battered wife syndrome lol.
@@ryanf7441 the Austin Longhorns are also the reason why Arkansas left the SWC. They also killed the SWC and held Houston & SMU down (and yes, I understand SMU got themselves in trouble initially).
I know that this is a BIG12 channel, but any P5 school that doesn't make the SEC/B1G cut will be screwed. This includes most of the new BIG12 members along with the expected ACC remainders.
You're also a bit premature on FSU and CLEMSON. FSU may be screwed and be forced to join the BIG12. CLEMSON likely has to get a coattail from UNC to the SEC.
Theo boy way any of them join the B12 is if espn explicitly states bc they don’t want to lose the ad revenue if u more to the B12 we can guarantee so much per school and pay a premium to do it to other schools
@@Knightowl1980 The BIG12 is the option of last resort. Unlikely an ACC school (other than FSU) moves to the BIG12.
The already Tier 2 BIG12 is very unlikely to pay more than the future Tier 2 ACC.
@@tarheel7406 you’re a fool to believe that. The ACC without fsu and Clemson is worth more. I think the ACC can maybe stay together if those are the only two teams to leave but if unc Miami and other others start to leave it’s over.
@@Knightowl1980 The BIG12 has now lost its top 6 (net) and ~33% G5 equivalent. You are a fool if you think the BIG12, which is now the worst P4 on all material factors, will be worth materially different than a reasonably rebuilt future ACC.
If the new BIG12 were worth that much, the original BIG12 would have been so valuable that no member would have left.
I know that you're an ACC fan obsessed with the Big 12 because you predicted the Big 12's demise and the ACC's rise. So heads up to the people who, this guy is a big time Big 12 hater. The Big 12 will be fine.
W/OSU only got screwed if you believe that they were owed a place at the table! No school is owed a place at the table, hence no school is screwed by being left out! This applies to G5 teams hoping to move up!
No, WSU and OSU got screwed because they unquestionably lost the most in this realignment, regardless of whether you think they deserved it or not
@@54raynor my definition of “getting screwed”
is when someone thru no fault of their own is stripped of something that is their right. Losing something that that’s not your right is not getting screwed, it’s bad luck.
@@haroldflashman4687 then by that logic, no school has ever been screwed by any realignment.
Stanford got screwed. They have the No. 1 athletic department in the nation, and have had recent football success (2009-2018, ten straight 10-win seasons, 10-straight bowl games, 5 Heisman finalists). Now they're flying to Syracuse for a 40% cut of ACC revenues.
@@atgdcommish608 All of the P5 remainders got screwed, including STANFORD. Nevertheless, it could have been worse in the BIG12 or indy. At least STANFORD continues to play its academic and athletic peers (as things stand).
kisses... just for this
FSU and Clamsome are about to be mediocre with Miami's talent surge, so running away is smartest for them. The U will lock down the State of Florida/Miami top talent players. Miami IS the next powerhouse that no one will want to play in any conference.. Realign all you want, but hope Miami isn't on your schedule.
Miami will never be great again
'..said the U fan every year since 2004....'lol
How anyone could still consider the B12 a power conference is laughable. It's the worst hit conference from realignment...poor AZ, Utah and OSU are shell-shocked they were not invited the p64 and are shattered physiologically....the rest were desperation adds in the "dark days" from the American and have been disaster thus far. Only happy team is BYU...Keep on believing I guess.
The winners include BYU and the G5s that were elevated.
You sound like a media-puppet. The B12 is the most balanced & will be exciting to watch. The "big 2" are top-heavy in terms of power...mostly just brands. B12 lost a competitor in UT-Norman. All it lost with the Austin Longhorns is a brand...congrats to them on being The Gap with a football team.
@@emanualmarques5757 The G5 level likely competes at parity. The Tier 2 should has well.
That’s not how you pronounce salve. The “V” sound is actually a “W” sound.
