I dont understand the narrative that texas and ou "are gonna learn what the sec is all about" that any team in the sec can beat them. Whos arguing different? Yall act like the big 12 hasnt been to most competitive conference yesr in and year out. We have only had 2 undefeated conference champions since 09. Both texas and ou have lost to Kansas. Every team in the big 12 has beaten texas at least once in the last 13 years. Texas "only" has 9 undefeated seasons. Nobody believes their school has better odds of going undefeated than not. If texas is the best team in the conference, then they will win it. It doesn't matter their record. Because it will be better than anyone elses if thats true.
And another question. Who needs to learn? The fans? Last time i checked the fans dont play the game. Is it the players? Last time i checked, texas has recruited as well, if not better than all the sec schools except Georgia. The team practices and plays against each other. That's where teams get better. And we have as much if not more talent than any other team in the sec. So im confused on who needs to learn?

I get the whole SEC is different week to week because more talent but here's the thing. At least for Texas (and mostly OU too), almost the entire B12 considers them a rival. Every single team plays up and puts all their energy and focus and offseason into preparing for Texas. That's not going to be the same in the SEC. Texas is just another good team. Because of that, I think Texas (and probably OU) will be more than prepared to go through an SEC season. As Pate said, it's about depth, and Texas (OU a bit less so), has depth as good as anyone in the SEC perhaps not named Georgia. They'll be just fine. OU needs another year or so to develop their culture and depth but they'll be fine quickly too.

OU has some major questions at Oline but we have some transfer experience and we have one of the best O line coaches in football. At skill positions were at least 2 deep and 3 deep at some positions. Defense stepped up last year and not only have we got a team with more experience now, but we also have amazing young talent coming in. Defensive line positions are all 3 deep and youre not losing much regardless of whos on the field. Our defensive back field is going to turn some heads. UT had a good season last year and I get it. but then they lost a LOT in the offseason to the draft or to the portal. OU has had 3 and abut to be 4 top 8 classes in the nation. Oline and Dline, WR, RB, QB, TE, Danny Stutsman, Billy Bowman and Bowen playing in the secondary.... im just confused where UT is YEARS ahead of OU. OU owned Mizzou and TAMU prior to the SEC. UT and OU have wins over Bama in the Saban era. OU worked Auburn in the Sugar Bowl. Georgia won the big Rose Bowl but only after their vaunted D coughed up 500+ yards to the OU offense. Bama, LSU, and Georgia are great football teams. The remaining SEC teams aren't better than the Big 12 teams were. Could OU and Texas have tough first seasons? Sure, but I don't see them struggling to compete long term.

What Texas and OU fans dont understand is Sec teams bring their A games every sat. No easy games. League is loaded with talent.
