Will The ACC Become The New AAC After FSU & Clemson Leave? | Clemson REFUSES Schedule Change

  • Is the ACC on course to become another version of the AAC (American Athletic Conference)? That’s what Kelvin Hunt, a writer from FSU blog Chop Chat said this week after the additions of SMU, Cal and Stanford into the conference. Florida State fans are bitter during this period where they are engaged in multiple lawsuits with the ACC in order to break the Grant of Rights and exit the conference once and for all. It’s only a matter of time before Clemson and FSU find a way out. Will the ACC be no better than the AAC once that happens?
Hosts Alex Donno and Kenton Gibbs react to that hot take and discuss the long term state of the conference. Meanwhile, Clemson seems to have committed an open act of defiance against the ACC. They refused to allow their game against South Carolina to be moved from the Saturday after Thanksgiving to Black Friday. Which ACC team has the most pressure to win big this upcoming football season? Gibbs and Donno both feel Miami is the choice there.

Answer to Kenton's question ? Clemson won before Dabo. There is a reason Clemson & FSU has the most ACC championships. There is a reason Clemson is one of the 15 winningest programs of all time. Know your history. You ever heard of John Heisman. He did coach at Clemson. Hint: Heisman Trophy. So don't act like Clemson was not a football school before Dabo got there. Considering all the programs out there; if you are in the top 15-20 all time over 100 years that is pretty good company. Know your history. Stop listening to other Media that dislike Dabo

      @user-kn7ry8iz6x 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

LMAO. All ESPN has to do to earn the MOST REVENUE over the Next 12 years is KEEP the ACC ALIVE.
Not only does ESPN profit MORE of the ACC than it does the SEC and ESPN gets better Ratings off the ACC than it used to get off the B1G... BUT ESPN has just INVESTED $1 BILLION in the ACC Network... which is about to INCREASE REVENUES for ACC teams and ESPN but ESPN's TAKE from that is going to be more than an ADDITIONAL $200 Million per year AND on top of that ESPN is about to see a $2.5 Billion Return on their Investment over the next 12 years.
Plus you make the MISTAKE of seeing this as a ZERO SUM GAME (if you can even understand what that means) and not seeing this as a DYNAMIC GAME.
The ACC and ESPN are NOT going to Stand Pat and DO NOTHING after the coming Exodus. In Fact, those 2 PARTNERS (ESPN/ACC) made Moves and Plans 9 years ago for what was a KNOWN Impending SEC and B1G RAID n the Power 5. Every single move the ACC/ESPN have made for 9 years has been to shore up the ACC Teams that would be STAYING and MINIMIZE the Damage of Teams Leaving. And every single step has be SUCCESSFUL... but you would not know it because apparently the ACC/ESPN know how to Play POKER/CHESS while you are watching the PAC 12/Big 12 play GO FISH/CHECKERS and celebrating them winning CHILDREN's GAMES.
You do not understand how STRONG the ACC is RIGHT NOW and have NO CLUE what the ACC is going to do Post-Exodus. Which is TYPICAL and FOOLISH.
There is NO SCENARIO where ESPN makes MORE MONEY doing anything other than STAYING with the ACC.
And I challenge ANYONE to even ATTEMPT to explain HOW ESPN could make MORE $$$ without the ACC. I would love to read your DELUSIONAL Comments.

ACC Revenue will be UP by around $26 Million this year due to the Expansion and NEW Status of the ACC Network. But they keep using the LIE that they will be $50 Million a year behind the Big 10 during the same YEAR that we find out the Big 10 is making $10 Million LESS than was reported and the ACC is going to get $26 Million MORE than reported.
That is a $36 Million DIFFERENCE between their LIES about the Big 10 and their IGNORANCE about the ACC.
It reduces that GAP to $14 Million a year in REVENUE after only 1 year.
And the ACC has a MOVE coming that will cut that GAP by another $10 Million in 2 to 5 years.

Why would any university administrator or Network agree to something as volatile as a contract between rival schools with divergent interest? Texas A&M and Texas anyone? Especially if Private Equity interest and rival Networks are trying to push schools to break media contracts.
    It's BAD Business.
Conferences won't work. Group Contracts won't work. So the Networks will eventually make individual deals with a top few schools. That is how they will trim off the Northwesterns and Vandys etc. Conference pride won't save them. People are trying to say Notre Dame will be forced to join the Big10...why? When ND is the future and ahead of the curve. Every School will pursue Notre Dame type of scheduling agreements. If NBC peacock won't pay the 60 Million..Apple TV will pay 100M.
An end to the ACC is essentially ALL conferences ending themselves.

Evidently FS and Clemson, didn't add much value at all or ESPN would have given more money. In reality, when you look at group 5 and below those schools make 5 million and less and are able to handle their business. There is a bit of malice with D1 teams making less money than the big 10 and sec. You must play the hand you dealt. However, FS and Clemson have put themselves on a pedestal that they deserve what the big 10 and sec are getting but not the big 12. If ESPN or Fox, cbs and NBC never made the deals with the sec or big 10, I really don't think we will be having this conversation. I don't think the ACC is going anywhere, they may lose 2 - 4 teams (most likely just FSU and Clemson) but they will largely remain intact. The real question, especially for the MWC fans, is what happens after that? Who will the ACC be coming after to backfill some value? The B12 had a leg up on you all since they got to pick through the AAC, and then again when the PAC fell apart, they came out much better than you all.
Utah was the cream of the crop there and you all got Cal, Stanford and SMU? Stanford being the best pickup there and not bad because that further solidifies you as the conference that ND Football wants to join. Eventually, but probably not.
So what is left? Well nothing in the AAC, as you all caught up to the rest of us and pointed out in this video. There are the other two PAC leftovers that you all already passed on once, do you take another look at them, maybe? And then there is the MWC, probably the only G5 conference that holds any sort of value save for a couple teams I don't think you would go after anyway, like Memphis and Tulane. Dirtbag Memphis doesn't fit in with you all, and Tiny Tulane doesn't have the metrics that spell long term value.
IMO you kick the tires on the PAC leftovers one more time, you may only take one and that would be OSU, and then you would take a good hard look at the likes of San Diego State, UNLV and Colorado State. I would include Boise State and Fresno State on there but I think you would have Cal and Stanford bitching about that and they don't really fit in with the other schools in the ACC.
Coast to coast 18 - 20 team conferences seem to be all the rage these days in the P4 and I think the 4 - 5 schools I mentioned above are your best bet on getting caught up to your P4 peers. Outside of that you could try to steal away a team or two from the B12 such as BYU, UCF or Utah (although I think you already tried there and it seems to have come to nothing).
I just wish you all would get on with your FSU and Clemson drama so us over here in the MWC can find out how badly we are going to be screwed in all of this.

ESPN gave the ACC a Pro Rata so that it can ADD anybody to make sure the ACC can maintain the COMPOSITIONS CLAUSE in the TV Contract because ESPN KNEW 9 years ago that the SEC and B1G were going to RAID the Power 5... and ESPN wanted to be SURE the ACC would SURVIVE Post Raid.
      AND
ESPN has been PAYING the ACC $16 Million MORE per school that you have seen Reported because the Sports Media is FINANCIALLY ILLITERATE and is not SMART ENOUGH to look at a Simple Balance Sheet beyond looking at the REVENUE. If they LOOKED at the TOP of the Balance Sheet and not just the BOTTOM they would see the ACC teams all have a $16 Million GAP between INCOME and REVENUE and no other Conference does. That MIGHT stir their Imagination Enough to ask WHY and then LEARN WHY and INFORM YOU. But they are all TOO DUMB and can only Parrot what others have said. You know what that is like. It is what YOU do. "SQUAWK!! The TV Deal will END. SQUAWK!!!"
Big 12 has NOTHING it can OFFER ACC Teams. And Big 12 INCOME has been 2/3 ACC INCOME for the past 8 years.
Their REVENUE has been roughly the SAME. But LEARN to READ a Financial Statement and you will stop believing BS about the Big 12 and ACC.
The Big 12 is NOT DONE being RAIDED yet. Kansas is as good as gone. The "Utah Rumor" was a too early LEAK, not a Rumor.
The B1G is definitely going to grab a school from Texas because the MARKET is too HUGE not to get into. Maybe Tech idk, it doesn't matter.
And other Big 12 schools already have a HOOK in their Mouths from the Power 3's Trotlines and waiting to be pulled in.
