Ur 💯 correct. Dad was born in 1953 and told me Russians came boxers and coaches n for boxing. Yes also to help the military. No wonder foot work looks very similar in Cuban n some Russian fighters. Thank you Coach Charles.
Yes during the Russian - American missile crisis... 💯
Very good Coach
Appreciate it!
Your Cuban boxing teaching has me killing it in sparring! Thank you
Any time brother
Awesome ! I really like how you explained this concept. In soviet style boxing this is always used in warm up...but you showed more add on sequences. Very glad you showed this. And awesome teaching by you Sir. Thank you !

amazing, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!!
Very educational!!!
gracias coach
Very great, thank you very much!
Love your channel.
Salut coach excellent travail explication très bien merci pour la vidéo yassine d'Algérie A Laprochaine
Very interesting techniques. I use a lot of lateral movement mainly to take a quick break or to reposition myself in the ring but never thought of attacking from it other than stepping in with a jab. Thanks
Actually in the Square stance you only throw crosses for straights with both hands unlike the Jab Cross that the regular stances offer.
Thank you coach, a square stance in movement and a combination of different punches is incredible. I especially liked the combination with moving around in a circle. Thank you for your work
Друг! ❤ Благодарю за урок. Знакомство с твоим творчеством, как подарок от жизни. Вдохновляюсь 🔥
Excellent, thanks.
Fascinating stuff.

This fits perfectly with my style. I've practiced so much of this thinking I'm innovating. No one round east Texas boxes like this love it. Similar to Anderson Silvas style. Thanks again!

Great 🥊🥊🥊
Charles the kind-hearted man thanks a lot
Working hard for you AA
I’m learning different concepts in boxing through your videos coach
Well done and your video was good 👍🏾
thanks coach
Amazing content!!! Fuerte abrazo de Brasil!!!!
Very valuable final disclaimer at the end of the video: drill these things with dedication to avoid becoming the next favourite moving heavy bag of the gym (everyone will want to spar you).
Square stance is a topic on its own in combat sports, and this cuban foundation shown here can break your anchors, but it's a must to deeply STUDY it (with capital letters, yeah).
I enjoyed it Charles, well done.
Thanks brother... almost a lost technique due to the Orthodox and Southpaw stances taken as the standard!
Nice teaching ❤️❤️❤️
Excellent thank you coach
Love the detail
You can tell I used to be a teacher 🤣

Hey Coach, many thanks for you great content. Ever since I discovered the soviet and cuban boxing style I have been obsessed trying to grasp the key elements. Especially the contralateral movement going fwd was something that struck me as I was taught that this movement was “wrong”. They taught me to move ipsilateral going fwd and contralateral going backwards. My question now that I have so many options is: when to use what when sparring/fighting? Thanks!!
The idea first is learn as many skills that work to a high level. The more you learn the better chance you have in confusing your opponent when you fight him.
Deciding when to use them will depend on strategy but the square stance is good evasive lateral movement, also as the square stance has no Jab hand both punches are crosses and so it will be good when you have your opponent in the ropes. The square stance offers the chance to catch your opponent off guard when you attack moving forward from lateral movement.
@@Charlessalbox many thanks I really appreciate your answer. Keep up with the videos!! Un abrazo
i think i naturally prefer this stance. just started boxing training
interesting. That will take a lot of drilling. Thanks for posting.
This is awesome! Thanks coach 👍
Anytime Dongcheol 👍🏾
very cool and inspirational lessons! i try to train it for sure :)
🥊Merci 👍
Would be great to see more variations on this shadow boxing and on the heavy bag
Yes a mix of singles and combination set ups
That history lesson at the beginning was very interesting, the historical relationship between cuba and soviet during the cuban revolution. But i think it was also worth mentioning how Fidel Castro also banned cubans from boxing professionally for like 50 years. I can understand why tho, the footwork looks so elegant and cuban boxing looks really deadly. I can see why this style would be banned from the pro ring, its so deadly it should be illegal 😅😅
Yes I think I will definitely touch on many more of these aspects later on alongside the prizefighting history of Cuban Boxers during the Pre - Castro in Cuba and America.
GRACIAS POR COMPARTIR BASE DEL BOXEO, HABER CUANDO SUBES UN VIDIO DE COMO ENTRENAR EL BENDI UN SALUDO DE CANARIAS BUEN DIA
Thanks!
Could you also show lateral movement with punching?
Good idea 💡 I will see if I can do a Short video on this

What’s your advice if my coach hates me using Cuban style? I’m American 🇺🇸 and I’ve been tearing guys up in sparring with your teachings, but my coach hates the style, saying things like “you’re not a Cuban boxer” how would you suggest I handle this?
Try to understand that a coach cannot determine your style of boxing. His job is only to advise on technique... No one taught Julio Cesar La Cruz to use that style - he was shown technique and then the boxer decides his preferred style.
My top man!
My bro... did you do a class in Italy?
Can you actually mix up both stances square/traditional stance? Thank you coach for great explanation🙏🥊
Yes this is what you should do

Couple of questions.
Does the square stance go with normal boxing stance or is it a style unto itself?
Also how do you utilise the jab or lead hand lead foot punches?
Many thanks.
The square stance is a stance in itself... there are supposed to be 3 stances. In the Square stance you only have contralateral crosses
@@Charlessalbox really appreciate your reply! I am truly intrigued. I look forward to learning more.
🙂
Thank you for the video Charles,I really enjoyed watching and learning .
One thing I did notice that the rear foot appears to be pointing straightforward than pointing 90degress is this for ease of movement?
Good question... actually for my stance, with respect to the front bearing, the angle I tend to use for my back foot is approximately 65-80° and during the course of movement, especially after a pivot, it might shift to anything between 50-90°.
@@Charlessalbox thxs for the reply Charles
Hi Charles, I really like your videos, and how you explain things . Why isn't this taught in western boxing? Also, how can I drill this into my training and sparring? Are there other videos I need to watch?
Western boxing isnt taught in a school system... so coaches teach what they want and don't follow a curriculum
@@Charlessalbox I really want to drill this into my routine. Please could you recommend any other videos, you have, that I need to watch to perfect this routine?
Is it a general rule that combines contralateral/forward ipsilateral/backward? I.e. is it equally correct to use contralateral/backward?
Sería interesantísimo que sus videos estuviesen subtitulados al español. Se lo agradecería enormemente.
Intentaré volver a subir más para tener los subtítulos.

Can You Post A Video On Working On Reaction Time And Defense
Yes I will try

Когда смотришь из Росии , то удивляешься, а разве можно двигаться как-то по другому? Конечно можно, и по разному, но советская и кубинская техника выглядит настолько естественной, что забываешь об этом.
Excellent video! Really great history overview and training insight.
Uma pena não ser legendado😢
Hello, awesome video. How many rounds for each drill?
During your shadowboxing and perhaps warm up, attempt each drill for 1 round (3mins)... add nothing else when drilling each move.
Thank you, you're awesome. I'll share your channel is very helpful.

@@Charlessalbox Thanks for answering this question….. I’ve watched this vid several times over the last 3 days! Lol
Hey bro, can you tell me, how do cubans spar? I mean intensity wise, and do they spar hard and if yes, how often?
Thanks.
Surprisingly a lot harder than most people believe. Sparring is considerably hard between Cubans but they usually fight differently in the international setting because the rest of the world don't seem to move their feet as much!
From where can I buy this Cuban outfit.
Cuba is the place
Havana here I come,I might visit Rafael Trejo. I like your vids.
@@jivcolicov4119thanks! I'll probably travel there in August.
Always found the bladed stance strange as a short man
