This video is a user manual that covers how to setup and use all the functions of the G9000 Mudman and module 3031.
Today we take a look at a G9000 Mudman, one of the most affordable legends among Gshock collectors and in my opinion one of the toughest Gshocks out there.
That toughness does come at a cost though, as the buttons are some of the hardest to press buttons I have ever tried. If you like to play with the functions a lot, this is definitely not for you. There is a trick where you can boil the bezel to soften up the button covers, but do that at your own risk

My very first G-Shock. Still going strong after 15 years of service and two battery changes during this time.
Does the watch has Power Saving (PS) Mode like in DW5600 Series?
@Dr. Harshit Joshi never seen that mode, but the battery lasts long time.
Got this watch for my for my birthday about 12 years ago, still going like its new. Its the black one with red buttons. I love it! Its realy cool that it is still for sale today.
Stood me through military service, now passed on to my son. Great watches

First of all, I'd like to say thanks for all the great content you give us.
I have this watch for quite some time now, and I must say I really enjoy wearing it. The only difference it that mine's positive display. It really looks good on the wrist, and it's just made to take a beating. The watch survived some really mean situations, and never let me down so far. But the thing you mentioned about those screws, yes it's true. It happened to me that a screw broked, and one part remained inside, but it's not such a big deal as I took it and got it repaired without any problems. So it's not that impossible to take that thing out once it's broken. I don't really remember anything other than that malfunctioned, it still runs like brand new, so if you guys are new into G - Shock (as I was), this is the one you should buy. A mean mudder - simple, rugged, and without all those fancy sensors and things...

Hello friend, what do you mean by the screw breaking? On the strap-case body? I have the positive display black red one. Weary about its longevity with regards to the strap
The button are hard to press, but it's fine for me because u seldom press it anyway. The ruggedness and reliability is amazing. Planning to buy adapters and fit a zulu

I have this watch, lovely watch!!! and feels like you said, very confortable on the wrist and great features too... one thing though, is that all your "dead skin" and mud will get stuck between the case back and the plastic that holds the prongs... no wonder is the Mudman... LOL...!

I've bought my green camo w/orange display Mudman back in 2008. The reason was I liked the appearance of this wristwatch and i was working on drilling rig, sometimes dealing with drilling MUD. And, during 14 years of use, I've never used alarm or stopwatch or timer. One of reasons is probably toughness of its buttons.
It is still possible to buy original parts, and I've replaced outer resin - black back cover, bezel and strap. Voila, the watch is like new again.
The watch is really durable, I like it very much.
I tried negative display once. Looks very cool when backlighted, but not very readable on daylight. G-9000 is a great watch. Two straps replacement during 14 years, the watch now looks like really new.

The dual illumination feature It's also avaible on casio 9100 gulfman g shock. I've a beautifoul g9000 in dark green mood and negative display. But I've finally decided to buy another one with positive display yesterday and I'm waiting for It. I think It'll be my "perfect watch". Thanxx a lot for your beautiful reviews!!

I prefer the G/GW-9300 as the most utility oriented Mudman and that's why I own one.
4:27 both the Gulfman G-9100 and the G-9000 came with dual illuminator.
One of my favorite watch. Stealthy Black. This is the Dark Knight of Digital Watches for me.

Also I like that the buttons are hard to press as it will last longer and your guaranteed never to knock any of the buttons into a different mode, ideal forr military use.
So when you need to access a function under duress, maybe with gloves on, it will be extra fun. I love/hate this watch
@@w5monkey it isn't that hard to push imo. Just take some time to getting used to. First time, seems like a struggle to operate the buttons, but after a while it feels normal. I don't whether the buttons soften up or my hands are getting stronger. Lol

Odlična recenzija. Nadam se da češ uskoro napraviti neku i za ostale modele. Meni se osobno sviđa casio sgw 100 jer za razliku od ostalih sgw modela ima water resist 200m i ljepe velike brojeve za nas kojima je vid već pomalo oslabio. Poz.

I love My G-9000 it's a great all round work watch, super tough and easy to read. I have the positive display so it's a classic G-Shock and sits well in My Casio collection. Thanks for the review and your top class tutorial on the Mudman. My G-9100 Gulfman as the same dual illuminator as the G-9000.

Bought mine 5 years ago and until now haven't replaced the battery yet.
Am trying to decide between G9100 gulfman and the 35th anniversary DW 5600BB/DW 5900BB. Any chance you’ve tried them and can help recommend which one for me.
I am looking for a stylish one and I have a pretty slim wrist. The gulfman had the most features, but looks least stylish among them. Am really confused now
I like squares more than any other gshock as they are timeless in my opinion. They were designed with "form follows function" principle and that makes them Uber cool
Pretty sure the hard to press buttons was part of the design to help with the mud resistance.

So the stop watch does show seconds, it only has blocks. How will you know if you got 1 min left

the G-9000-3V(negative display with white characters), is easier to read compared to this G-9000MS-1(negative display with red characters)?
There is no video here on YT comparing the two g9000s' with negative displays.
I believe it is, but not by much, the blacked out red ones are very hard to read

I couldn’t get my Auto-EL on because I wasn’t pressing hard enough. These buttons can be PAINFUL to say the least. Very rugged watch otherwise.

Here to answer the question he missed. 24hour time. As the watch sits normally outside of the adjust mode simply hold the Stop/Start bottom right.

The khaki colored one, you mean? I've been looking for a G9000 with red illumination, but have only found the GD100. There's a Mudman with yellow, orange, green, blue, and purple... but have yet to find a red lol.
the big question mark is how come it is look like as big as the standard g-shock and when you see it in actual is way too small and skinny?
Hi you have the best gshock review channels. I have purchased numerous ones because of the insightful reviews you provide. Could you do a video on maintenance of gshocks. Replacing seal etc. What to clean them with. Also if maintained will gshocks last a lifetime. Since I read that quartz movements eventually give out, since gshocks are so protected mechanically will they last indefinitely or is that a myth. What would give out if a watch is maintained in good condition?
I have a video on how to clean watches in general and I do it ony GShocks as well. I also open and relube the main gasket if I start noticing condensation, which is around 8-10 years after purchase.
They should last a lifetime as you can still find the originals from early 80's working perfectly

Swimming, bashing against metal, tools, rocks, mud, gravel.... this watch is much tougher than my flesh and i kinda beat myself up, not on purpose. I need and want the buttons hard to press, my alarms or something I'm timing, may get messed up or stop just because i bash my watch against something all day.
I've had mine for about 4-5 years? I time things ALL THE TIME. So the lower right button (red for me), has worn out and the internal button is exposed. I just wish it had a vibe alarm. I've been known to use my alarm setting to stop every hour to remind myself to be mindful in the moment.... so the beeping sucks for people haha.

Love hate mine, awful AWFUL legibility (negative display) and buttons that look fun to push but are not! way too stiff. Hands down best module..x2 stopwatches and timer with repeat!

I have 2 of these models!!! I enjoy watching your channel compared to other "watch" channels, some of these watch vloggers just ramble on about nothing for most of video before even talking about the watch....I unsubscibed from 5 or more watch channels because of the useless rambling about nothing.
