The character development in Arkham Origins is superior to the other games in the series. Batman, especially, is a more interesting character here also. There are cutscenes dedicated to show how young, inexperienced, and angry he really is.

Very underrated. The Joker/Harley sequence is one of the best moments in all Batman lore. Also the Deathstroke fight has QT events that are fun! That’s a triumph in itself!
And that's why it wasn't a good game. Up and down it felt like a imitation of Arkham , mixed with some own ideas. Problem was, neither did they reach the quality of Arkham nor did their own ideas were any good.
I never even had a chance to like it. The game has a bug were if you buy a dlc the game just stops when you get to a certain point. And there is no fix unless you are on pc. Got to play about 20 minutes in on my 360 and never got to play again.

Origins was awesome. I liked everything in the game apart from the world. And it has the best boss fights in the series. City has some great fights and the Mr. Freeze one is my all-time favorite, but I personally loved the boss fights in Origins the most, particularly the Deathstroke and Bane ones.
Been saying this for a while. Such an under appreciated title. I love young, grittier, brutal Batman. Him just starting out and getting to know Gotham’s criminal underworld while it’s getting to know him and test his limits. It gave us the super popular & coolest Deathstroke design, along with one my fav bat suits. The Christmas feel is just the cherry on top and why I return to it almost every December. Hoping Gotham knights keeps some of this games flavor even though it’s a different universe.
Loved this when it released. Felt different to the other Arkham games, but I found that quite refreshing. I thought the music was fantastic in this game too, mixing gothic tunes with Christmas jingles. Not the best batman game, but we'll worth playing imho

The Mister Freeze story dlc was pretty good to. I think it actually complimented the Freeze side mission in Arkham Knight and made it more satisfying to see play out.
Reminds me of the time when their multiplayer servers were still up. It was honestly a blast and there were always a few of the same people that I kept running into due to the small playerbase. Good times.
I was hyped when the teasers dropped and stayed hype even as the credits rule. Origins sat well amongst the Arkham series- being one of the best games series ever

As someone who plays the whole series probably once a year, just out of some monkey brain habit: People forget how flawed Asylum and City were as well. Especially Asylum has weird pacing, fucked up, almost nauseating level design, a shallow combat system, and the worst bosses in any videogame I've ever still liked.

I always loved this game from the start and happy to see it's finally getting the love it deserves it was kind of the wicked red hair step child of the all 4 games. I remember playing the game and that last hour or so of the game I just truly felt like I became batman like I earned the mantle and had to fight way to earn it. I just remember 13 year old me being so into Arkham Origins ending. But overall it was a good game. Man do I feel old felt like yesterday I picked up Origins or Knight but man its been 7 years since Origins and 5 years since Knight. Talk about nostalgia but also make me feel old and I'm only 20.
I remember when Joker was in Arkham getting interviewed by Dr Harleen Quinzel and you play as the red hood as part of the Joker's origin. Really liked that part. Plus they tried setting up task force X in the post credits..

Arkham Origins is honestly my second favourite (behind Arkham City). I remember watching every single pre release video dissecting all the trailers, so excited for the game to come out. And honestly I absolutely loved it. Especially that detective crime solving thing with the time manipulation and all that, I thought it was so cool. Not to mention, Deathstroke is my favourite Batman villian and getting to fight him was awesome

Harvey Bullock : Who else would jump off a building to save your sorry ass? The Joker : You know, Officer, I was wondering the same thing myself.
Origins for me is really an equal to the other games. The setting cemented it as a prime game to replay at christmas time. It had probably the best boss battles. Some cool additions to gameplay, both gadgets and enemy types. And Batman felt really like the terrifying vigilante here. I really loved the stylish shots of him perched up somewhere with his face covered in darkness and only his eyes shining. The other games didn't do this, and it was really cool here. Oh, also worth mentioning that besides the snowstorm, it's also Christmas Eve. Also a reason why there are no civilians outside, most would spend that night with their family.
arkham origins was my first contact with the arkhamverse. Actually, it was the first game I've ever played on my Xbox 360. It still is, to this day, my favorite Batman game, wether it's because of nostalgia or because it's a great game, with a great story, memorable voice acting and some pretty damn good boss fights. That last fight with bane scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. So glad Origins is getting some recognition nowadays!
I played it for the first time within the past year, after having already played Asylum, City, and Knight. I loved it. I think the only complaint I have at all is that there weren't always enough grapple points when gliding. Otherwise, I honestly feel like it stands right up there with the others as a great game. Even the different voice actors do an excellent job. I understand that the game was super buggy when it came out, but playing it now, it's really solid.
Its cool that you mention this game now, I just recently set about and did beat this game for the second time around a week ago. I have never understood why this game gets downplayed all the time just because it wasnt a rocksteady game. I love it just as much as the other Arkham games. I wish they would have included it in the PS4 / XBONE remaster Arkham pack they made a few years ago. Its a shame that the only way to play it is on the original hardware.
Man this game IS SO underrated i mean this should actually be the standard to make a batman game man! the setting does not matter but the thing is that the sheer enormous storyline and the expanse of the open world was so well written that this game can't and never will be forgotten...and im telling you this was wayyy more better than Arkham knight!
Something that i find really interesting on this game is his batsuit, it's like an armour because he's on his early days as a crime fighter, he's reckless and cant afford critical damage, while on the other arkham games, he has a much lighter batsuit so that he can improve his speed, seeing that now he is experient and dont need that much protection anymore

Loved this when it released. Felt different to the other Arkham games, but I found that quite refreshing. I thought the music was fantastic in this game too, mixing gothic tunes with Christmas jingles. Not the best batman game, but we'll worth playing imho
The electrocutioner fight was the funniest one in the whole series I did not see it coming from such a serious game
The only two issues i had with this game: The riddler glitch and why was bullock in one cut scene? He should've been in the game.

Even though it wasn't done by Rocksteady I still consider it an Arkham title. Outside of the added features it felt like the other titles (in my opinion )...🐉
The Mister Freeze story dlc was pretty good to. I think it actually complimented the Freeze side mission in Arkham Knight and made it more satisfying to see play out.
Reminds me of the time when their multiplayer servers were still up. It was honestly a blast and there were always a few of the same people that I kept running into due to the small playerbase. Good times.
I was hyped when the teasers dropped and stayed hype even as the credits rule. Origins sat well amongst the Arkham series- being one of the best games series ever
Joker singing during the credits really just closed the game out perfectly as well.

I had no idea this was made by another studio.. never noticed and thought EVERY of these Batman games was friggin awesome. Maybe even the best superhero series in all of games. The atmosphere and the lighting was almost on point every damn time.

I couldn’t agree more. This may actually be my favorite Arkham game. I know that may sound crazy, but I like back stories. Plus the additional detective mode stuff was pretty sweet!

I was incredibly suprised when i transition from just playing games to being apart of the gaming community online to find that so many hated on origins! It deserves its spot among the arkham titles! It has flaws of course but it was a great game!
As someone who plays the whole series probably once a year, just out of some monkey brain habit: People forget how flawed Asylum and City were as well. Especially Asylum has weird pacing, fucked up, almost nauseating level design, a shallow combat system, and the worst bosses in any videogame I've ever still liked.

I thought it was a good game too. I Remember being puzzled at the hate it got, Jim Sterling gave a it 3.5/10.
At one point he admitted that he went way over the top negative in his review and promised to re-review it more fairly. He never did.

Unpopular opinion: I prefer Arkham Origins to Knight. Knight had no memorable boss fights and too many tank battles for my tastes.
The graphics and gameplay of Arkham Knight, the story of asylum and city, and the bossfights of origins= perfect Batman game.

Using the batmobile every 20 minutes literally sucked out the fun.

I always loved this game from the start and happy to see it's finally getting the love it deserves it was kind of the wicked red hair step child of the all 4 games. I remember playing the game and that last hour or so of the game I just truly felt like I became batman like I earned the mantle and had to fight way to earn it. I just remember 13 year old me being so into Arkham Origins ending. But overall it was a good game. Man do I feel old felt like yesterday I picked up Origins or Knight but man its been 7 years since Origins and 5 years since Knight. Talk about nostalgia but also make me feel old and I'm only 20.
This game was one of my favorite at the time and still his now. It introduced me to the franchise and I will always be grateful for that.

Dick Grayson Robin is playable in the multiplayer mode.
I remember when Joker was in Arkham getting interviewed by Dr Harleen Quinzel and you play as the red hood as part of the Joker's origin. Really liked that part. Plus they tried setting up task force X in the post credits..

Arkham Origins is honestly my second favourite (behind Arkham City). I remember watching every single pre release video dissecting all the trailers, so excited for the game to come out. And honestly I absolutely loved it. Especially that detective crime solving thing with the time manipulation and all that, I thought it was so cool. Not to mention, Deathstroke is my favourite Batman villian and getting to fight him was awesome

I think Telltale's Batman games are most underrated. Arkham Origins is quite commonly praised in the community and deservedly so.
The telltale games are the most unknown but origins is the most underrated and is better than asylum imo
Origins for me is really an equal to the other games. The setting cemented it as a prime game to replay at christmas time. It had probably the best boss battles. Some cool additions to gameplay, both gadgets and enemy types. And Batman felt really like the terrifying vigilante here. I really loved the stylish shots of him perched up somewhere with his face covered in darkness and only his eyes shining. The other games didn't do this, and it was really cool here.
Oh, also worth mentioning that besides the snowstorm, it's also Christmas Eve. Also a reason why there are no civilians outside, most would spend that night with their family.
arkham origins was my first contact with the arkhamverse. Actually, it was the first game I've ever played on my Xbox 360. It still is, to this day, my favorite Batman game, wether it's because of nostalgia or because it's a great game, with a great story, memorable voice acting and some pretty damn good boss fights. That last fight with bane scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. So glad Origins is getting some recognition nowadays!

I played it for the first time within the past year, after having already played Asylum, City, and Knight. I loved it. I think the only complaint I have at all is that there weren't always enough grapple points when gliding. Otherwise, I honestly feel like it stands right up there with the others as a great game. Even the different voice actors do an excellent job.
I understand that the game was super buggy when it came out, but playing it now, it's really solid.
Its cool that you mention this game now, I just recently set about and did beat this game for the second time around a week ago. I have never understood why this game gets downplayed all the time just because it wasnt a rocksteady game. I love it just as much as the other Arkham games. I wish they would have included it in the PS4 / XBONE remaster Arkham pack they made a few years ago. Its a shame that the only way to play it is on the original hardware.

Man this game IS SO underrated i mean this should actually be the standard to make a batman game man! the setting does not matter but the thing is that the sheer enormous storyline and the expanse of the open world was so well written that this game can't and never will be forgotten...and im telling you this was wayyy more better than Arkham knight!

Something that i find really interesting on this game is his batsuit, it's like an armour because he's on his early days as a crime fighter, he's reckless and cant afford critical damage, while on the other arkham games, he has a much lighter batsuit so that he can improve his speed, seeing that now he is experient and dont need that much protection anymore
