People have been doing the same thing for ages with high value cars. You’ll notice they all have Montana plates in order to get out of the high registration fees based on the value of the vehicle. Go to RSF cars and coffee on a Saturday and you’ll see 90% of the cars are Montana plated.
Sweet. Here in NEW Mexico we have legitimate privately owned branches of the DMV. Since they're private they're 100x more efficient than the government run branches. However there's an extra service fee you need to pay for that efficiency. So when it comes to OHV's they'll pass nearly anything you bring in as long as it has it's VIN(s), headlight, and tail light. All they want is they're fee whereas the state run DMV will tell you no, stop, and don't.

I appreciate the information you provided. I do, however, have some questions. Assume you’re driving the bike in California, get pulled over, and are asked for your license and registration. What happens when the registration is to an LLC that doesn’t match your license? Do you carry your LLC papers with you? How many months can you drive in California without the requirement of registering the bike in California? How much will it cost to transfer that title and pay the fees and taxes? Will there be any additional problems with registration in California given the hurtles you went through before even though it was legally registered in Montana before the transfer? And finally, who underwrites the insurance required for an operating a vehicle in California when it is registered in Montana? Thanks.
Ran into something similar in my state. My state actually does have a classification for something like this which is an electric moped. No speed limits, pedal requirements, and only a vin/incidental safety inspection is what the code says is required. Unfortunately, like in this video, the DMV had a completely different idea on the laws, definition, and inspection process they are SUPPOSED to follow. Still trying but might have to take them to court to challenge it.

The Arizona DMV has been struggling with this for well over a month. What I need is an "assigned" VIN. This is my major hurdle. I have vehicular liability insurance on it, which exceeds the state minimum. It is too fast to be a "scooter", and does not fit their 50cc engine narrative either. It does match a special category of a vehicle in this state called a "Motor powered cycle of 5 HP or less". This category does not have a maximum speed limit, like a scooter and moped does. The Motor Goat v3 is a 3000 watt, 45 MPH eBike. So it is well beyond the usual 28MPH 750 Watt definition of an eBike.
With pedals you can usually get away with it, but yes you would need a VIN in most cases. Perhaps a question for dirt legal as I'm not sure if it's doable or not. It MIGHT be.

I asked an attorney friend about this (I'd like to try it with my Sur-Ron), and he said it's clever, BUT: While you might be able to successfully register your Sur-Ron in Montana through an LLC, the challenge arises when you operate the vehicle in California. California requires that vehicles operated by California residents be registered in California. If you are a California resident and operate a vehicle primarily in California, you are legally required to register that vehicle with the California DMV. CVC §4000.4 states that any vehicle "owned by a nonresident and based in California or primarily used on California highways" must be registered in California within 20 days of entry into the state. Operating a Montana-registered Sur-Ron in California could be seen as a violation of this law if you reside in California and the Sur-Ron is primarily used there. CVC §4000.4(b) provides a nonresident exemption, allowing vehicles owned by nonresidents to be operated in California for up to 6 months without California registration. So just be careful, the police still might be able to cite you.
it is a scooter just in the shape of a motorcycle which is why it's so low to the ground many e scooters can reach to 50 miles per hour. so yeah not an e-bike :/ but e scooter with the body of a motorcycle thus dubbed as *build motorcycle.

I saw a comment here about cars, etc, all using this 'Montana method', and how cops know. If you ask me, the Montana plate is a red flag for cops, telling them "This guy is riding an illegal machine", causing them to instantly light you up. To be honest, your attitude reeks of entitlement, as in, "It's got wheels and a motor. I have a right to register it". I'm not saying that most of the world is wayyyyy behind on integrating small electrics into their transportation systems, and that they desperately need to catch up... but that doesn't mean that they should just close their eyes and allow any wheeled device on public roads, and at the moment, your bike doesn't qualify in California. So, don't be surprised if/when you get stopped, and maybe even lose it.
Depending on the bike in question. Most are overpriced yes. Even for gas bikes, most are overpriced for what you get. I've been a motorcycle rider all my life. Never meet a bike worth more than 5k, ever. Best i've seen for Great Quality are Hondas. Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suski are next best Quality wise.

Why not just get the scooter registration and call it good.
Why'd you get so thin? You okay, bro?
I asked an attorney friend about this (I'd like to try it with my Sur-Ron), and he said it's clever, BUT:
While you might be able to successfully register your Sur-Ron in Montana through an LLC, the challenge arises when you operate the vehicle in California.
Brah… my neighbors vehicles all have expired temp tags. One expired in 2019.
I’m curious if they even bother to insure them.
Los Angeles is ghetto.
Why would you go thru all of this??? I got an electric bike so I can avoid the DMV, registration, insurance and all the other crap.
And this is why people dont give a f and ride wherever, and i dont blame them.
it is a scooter just in the shape of a motorcycle which is why it's so low to the ground many e scooters can reach to 50 miles per hour. so yeah not an e-bike :/ but e scooter with the body of a motorcycle thus dubbed as *build motorcycle.
Tell me you are uneducated without telling me you’re uneducated
Why do all that just ride the thing
Your problem is you're in Cali lol

Person in Santa Monica gets ticketed and gets his Eahora (i think) impounded.
I think the solution is to move out of California lmao. Doing all your due diligence and they still have a problem with it. Ridiculous.
I hated every part of this video as a Californian who has had to register multiple two strokes throughout his life I know the loopholes throughout the entirety of this law and I think of you as a b**** for not sticking it through and doing it right even if you had to do it through Arizona
I heard this company has very poor customer service
I can only speak for my experience which was good.
It's already legal to ride learn your rights lol you have the right to travel
Lmfao. Can’t wait to see your “sovereign citizen” video
@@5lim.0 lmfao sovereign citizens don't exist learn English
@@5lim.0 better yet read blacks law dictionary and get back to me 😁
Literally the only reason sovereign citizen schtick ever works is because the cop doesn't want to listen to your nonsense. No sovereign citizen defense has ever worked in a courtroom.
Cali not a real state
Why argue it?you should of just got a paper that said motor scooter or video him telling u that.your waking them up I used to like your channel, but home u basically "snitched" out the whole loophole culture then televised it.smh I'm in NY we don't play with the dmv for scooters.thats gonna come back and bite ya in the ass.do u homie I'm out.
It sounds to me like you don’t know when to leave well enough alone, you have been indoctrinated way to deeply to come back from .
Llc lmfao foh
The chp told him they couldn't care less 😅
just leave california dude
Shouldn't cars be illegal to drive since they are capable of exceeding speeds much higher than are legal on majority of all roads ?
Electric motorcycles are sadly, bad.
Define sadly, bad. I have OVER 40k miles on my 80+ mph modified LBX..
