    I avoided fixing this for like 6 months bc I thought it would be difficult. This was the issue and so quick to fix!! Thank you so much! 🙏🏽

    Your video saved me $600.
    My 2009 Subaru Forester's fan switch would not turn off the fan but it would adjust the fan speed otherwise. Also the vent control switch was frozen and could hardly be turned. I took the car to Subaru and they wanted $600 to replace the air conditioner controls. I followed your video and disassembled the dash board panels to expose the A/c controls. I found that the fan switch knob was loose and only partially connected. When I reconnected it it worked like new. Also a few squirts of WD-40 on the vent control mechanisms also freed the stuck knob. Now every thing works great and I save $600 thanks to your video.

    Thank you! Exactly what happened on my 2010 forester. Didn't even have to pop any panels loose to get the cable back in place.

    Well, I’m wanting to change out the AC control light color on my wife’s 2009 forester - this gets me part way there.

    Your video saved me a fortune! My wife's car was the exact same deal. The cable popped out of the clip and no front vents. I popped it back in and put the loop piece back on the air door control and boom. Ice cold a.c. blowing in our faces again. Thank you!

    I have to replace the whole climate control cable and can’t get the clip loose to remove the old one. How do I do that?

    Would this generally be the same way to perform this on a 2017 forester ? My air flow knob is stuck and can’t turn left past the foot air flow option !

    Hey! Hope you will see this. It seems like the same place your lose mine is stuck and won’t turn all the way. Suggestions for that? Should I try just lubricating that gear in there? Sorry if this is a dumb question new to diy cars! 😅

    • @TheBrookeJackson
      @TheBrookeJackson ปีที่แล้ว

      Update! The gear is working fine actually it is the wire. The wire is disconnected as yours is but it seems like the owner before somehow jammed it up and bent the wire. Would I need to replace it completely? What would you do?

    Nice video! I have an ‘08 Legacy, the temp control knob is stuck. Will barely move either direction, blows hot air. Couldn’t get my AC to come on. Sound like a cable?

    I had a hard time seeing how to put the cable back where it belongs. Do you have any clearer pictures? I can access everything without removing any panels and can see that this is the problem with my vent control.

      I was looking for a video on removing the climate control cluster. Actually disconnecting the cables and removing the climate controls from the dash.
      In my case I was looking for a video because I need to get to the accessory outlet under the climate controls. Wasn't trying to be mean just at the end of a long search to figure out how to remove the cables from the vent doors (?) and be sure they go back on correctly. Have found no help and your title sounded like exactly what I was looking for even down to the car model then you didn't actually remove the climate controls.
