The assassination of ellies character from 2 to 3 was so wrong. They turned ellie from a badass to a pointless damsel in distress.

and Isaac by proxy to be frank having Isacc and ellie be romantically involved at all didn't make any damn sense considering that the entire point of both Dead space 1 and 2 was Isacc trying to get over the death of Nicole and the Guilt that came with it. not to mention their isn't a single mention or mental freakout scene of Nicole at all in dead space 3. she simply didn't exist anymore to Isaac which is funny considering the entire love triangle element could have been made so much better had Ellie left Isaac for Norton because Isaac would constantly sulk over Nicole and even after dead space 2 was never truly able to get over her.

Dead space 3 had a lot of issues, but the love triangle by all accounts was completely pointless. If they wanted to have a relationship struggle between Isaac and Ellie, they could have left Norton completely out of the picture and kept everything else. Hell, they could of had a side story for the co-op with Ellie and Isaac trying to repair their relationship, with Ellie as the 2nd playable character instead of Carver.

@@moneygrabber6720 While it's not specified in both the game and book, it's hinted that she knew Norton before she broke up with Isaac. Now I'm not saying she was already "seeing" Norton before she and Isaac broke up, but it possible.

Exactly. Simply their motivations have enough tension to cause relationship issues. Ellie wants to find the source of the Markers and stop the Necromorphs. Isaac knows deep down that both of them couldn't survive that fight and instead wanted to live his life in relative peace. Dead Space 3 is all about Isaac overcoming that fear and realizing that he can't not fight, especially given his ability to destroy Markers.
