Timothy does such a beautiful, soulful job with this song. And, Steuart Smith does admirably with the guitar solo -- but not as silky smooth as Don Felder played it.
When TBS joined Eagles, Don and Glenn wanted to see what he had written. He showed them the part of this song he had already written. They said this was the one! Timothy, Glenn, and Don finished it together. At a listening party after it was recorded, Don said to him There's your first hit. ( How cool is that? It gives me chills.)
Don and Glenn screwed up when they ran Felder off over $$$. The up side might be that Felder filed suit and won. I hope they were ordered to pay him a fortune. That said, Steuart doesn't disappoint and they are lucky to have him.
