I really couldn't make any sense of the written instructions describing this technique but your video showed it so clearly. Thank you!

For a plain garter stitch shawl: At 9 stitches - 4:20 in video - turn the work as normal, then start the increases as follows .... Begin: Row 1: knit 3 stitches, YO, knit across all stitches to the end of the row. Then just repeat this one row (yeah!) until your shawl is the size you want and simply cast off loosely. Job done. This is a great easy telly watching shawl..... useful stash buster, just use up all your random ends of DK projects. For further info just look at the youtube videos for the garter stitch diagonal dishcloth/blanket, with or without decorative YOs. Thank you to Yarnist for uploading this video.

    Thank you!
First triangle shawl. Attempted this set up 3 times before searching for a how-to video.
They had me stopping on row 5 before picking up the additional 6. I was having a devil of a time finding the 3 p/u sites.
    This made it super easy.

I've just looked at at least 3 other garter stitch tab tutorials and yours is by far the easiest! Thank you!

With all due respect... Why is it that almost 99% of the instructors for this particular initial step when making a top down shawl, stop like you do in this video and don't try to show the viewer how to go on to the next four knitted rows including the Yarn Overs, their distribution and, most importantly, their size...? I see many videos where they show the finished shawl and point to perfect Yarn Overs along the border and down the middle, BUT... when they start working on the show piece and show the finished object, the spaces are not of equal size and many have a solid area or a hump...??? What is the secret to have decent, equal size holes...? And, also, how do you knit the center or spine stitch that always comes shorter...? Thank you for the attention...!!! Next time when re-doing the video about this subject, add 6 or more knitted rows after the casting on to show the Yarn Overs spaces... Please...
