Thanks for posting this 😊 I'm still a newbie and have frustration at my ineptness setting properly, judging water, and choosing flies, although I thoroughly enjoy the areas I fish in western montana. Thanks again for helping me realize getting out and fishing is the most important part ❤
I have seen most of your videos of you going all over the world fishing for different amazing species. This is without a doubt my favorite episode I have ever seen
I lost what would have absolutely been my PB bass two days ago , I'm guessing it was close to 8 lbs.... shoulda let it keep pulling drag , but i thought i could turn it around...i was wrong. I'm still a little bummed... this was cathartic , thanks Ben.
I completely understand the advantages of fishing from a boat, but I definitely prefer videos where you actually do a little wading around. Nice to see I am not the only one who misses fish. Great video as always.
We have an overcast day forecasted for tomorrow, which means BWO in the 22-26. So, I am tying those while watching TH-cam fly fishing videos. Should be a fun day.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING? YOU'RE DOING IT ALL WRONG! Just kidding! You're the best in fly fishing sarcasm like Don Rickles was to TV. I snicker with all your content.
Well, I fish floating lines most of the time, and a sink tip for streamers,iei.e. Wooly buggers, most of the time. As for textured lines, I bought my first one after some 60 years of fly fishing, for a new 6 wt that I bought. I have not fished it yet so I can't say if its going to be better or not. Most of my fly fishing is trout, I am a big fan of DT. I would suggest don't over thing it. Buy a good floating fly line for your rod and a sink tip- go with the fastest one for your rod you can find. Then go fish and have fun.
The name of my duck boat is TGW. Thank goodness for wigeon. The name of my waders is TG10”. Yes, 10”ers day in and day out. From 9AM to dark. While we love the great northern mallards, wigeon are there day after day, week after week during the entire season. Same goes for 10”. I have no complaints about 10”s. Therefore, I do not understand your title. Thy are a blessing, not a curse. That 16” or 19” is just another type of joy.
I like this guy and enjoy his videos. I respect his desire to catch fish his way. But man oh man could a good euro guy clean up in some of those seams he fished today😅😅
Yes....but, euro nymphing is boring. One of the major pleasures of fly fishing....is the casting component. High sticking may be an effective fish catching method...but, where's the challenge?
Ben What weight line and who’s the maker. It seems to make a good amount of noise as it shoots through the guides. Not that it matters. Love the video. Too bad about that rod.

Wow the Yellowstone river looks awesome. Can’t wait to go fish there soon! 🤯🤯I
Make sure not to go during runoff, try to plan your trip after it's over.

Yeah, i'm not too interested in boat fishing videos.
I love fishing the slow deep sections. All my biggest browns came from water like that in my area.
Love this kind of solo float vid, def hope for more in the future

How’d it go?
Fishing solo can be great because you can do whatever you feel like doing. Can also be bad for the same reason.
In the end, I enjoy it!
Beautiful fall day on a beautiful piece of water, all to yourself; screw the hook sets, it doesn't matter.
Some say a 10"er would not be a curse but a blessing😂

Haha I agree what a great comparison!!😁👍
Your truly blessed with the scenic country!
How are you out on such a beautiful day and there's no one else around??
Strategery
If it were me, by myself on such big water....I'd be wearing an auto inflatable PFD.
Hadn't broken a rod in 6 years broke 2 in the last 2 months! One of them was my Scott Centric!!😭😭
how do you choose what type of fly line to use ( smooth vs. textured/ floating vs. sinking vs. some kind of intermediate)?

Sun was high…….and the sweatshirt came off. Been there a thousand times………..cool video!
My wife also has the curse of the 10 incher.
That’s what you gotta love about fisherman always exaggerating how big it is.😅
@@xpwhitesquallhahaha so true!

Great video, Ben! Greetings from Medfield, Mass.
The Charles River kinda looks like that.
Sure, especially when it dumps into Boston.

6 wt Orvis Pro Trout textured
You just need to set the hook harder. I learned that from some bass fishing videos.
Yeah that’s it. I’ll try that next time.
Intro hurt the soul
That rod breaking made me cringe. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard that sound.
Techy fishing. 👊🏼👍🏼🤙🏼
Sounds like textured fly line.
Ant time baby!
Poor Mortimer he was the most stupid of all his friends
my wife's boyfriend suffers from the 10 inch curse. poor guy.
Ben missing fish.
