It would be a horrible insult to place her in the "Hall". No way, no day. She's the bloody reason the "Rock & Roll Hall of Fame" sucks! She's the golden thing to compare the shit to!!!
Glad to see her enjoying herself, but unfortunately an awful show to be on. A bit childish interview, but interesting for Curtis experience in participating. A bet She felt embarrassed about it all 😾
FFS, seriously people!? It's Graham fucking Norton! This is his schtick. Everyone knows this. He has the best chat show on television. And all his guests have the best time.
Siouxsie is an attractive and intelligent woman. And anyone who loves cats is okay by me. Pity the sound quality on the video is crap and pity about Mr Norton making it all about himself.
he couldn't do it any other way, if he wasn't that self centred then he wouldn't have this type of show. He knew jack shit about siouxsie/banshees/punk etc.
I never watch this because it puts my teeth on edge. Even if a hero of mine (like Siouxsie) was on, I'd know they wouldn't get a word in or be allowed to talk about anything serious or interesting. It's all just a vehicle for Norton's high-camp, bitchy humour, which is absolutely not to my taste. (Same with Jimmy Fallon in the US - he's a funny guy, but it's not a "talk" show. He has some great guests on but the "interviews" are just a lot of p*ss*ng about)
In 1976 punk rock was the shot in the arm rock music needed on both sides of the Atlantic. Siouxsie should have been bigger here in the States but she is greatly loved.
I love Siouxsie so much!! Her music, and lyrics are truly amazing. She defined what the REAL Gothic culture was. Not this emo shit you hear now. She got through this interview so gracefully considering how rude the interview was. Siouxsie is in a class of her own. ❤
Love your comment. I was a Goth in Brisbane in the very early 80's when the scene was just starting here. Its been a huge upset for me to see something I truly loved go to Emo. We used to get the crap beaten out of us because of how we dressed and to see any of it go mainstream is just sickening. Nose rings, tattoos, Doc Martins etc have all gone over and it makes me ill. Seeing yuppies wear full sleeves, I just want tyo punch them. My tats represented my class and the hard life I come from NOT JUST DECORATION. I still have my piercings but never wear them now because they mean nothing. For me we dressed that way because we wanted to be outcast from a society we did not agree with. We were street kids back then so it was a hard life for us. I have buried so many of my friends that died along the way through drugs and the hard life we led. Im in my 50's now but it still means something to me. Love your comment.
@@elysabethpoodle6234I second everything you wrote, wish I had written it myself, same story here but in Rome, Italy, late eighties (we've always been behind, which by the way is often better for many things)
Totally agree. You should never knock someone who's actually putting themselves out there and making music that's real to them. The best I can hope is that he was somehow in on the joke or crazy enough to just not give a shit. But that wasn't very nice at all. I think Siouxsie was very supportive in her reaction. If Graham let her speak a bit longer, I think she would have had a chance to be more encouraging. Because he wasn't even that bad (for people that like real raw punk music). I'm sure a lot of famous musicians were much worse than that when they started out
7 years before TV programme was recorded I'd named one of my cats "Siouxsie". And round about the time of the TV interview I saw Siouxsie her in concert in London Just as the concert ended I had strong urge to get out the crowd before the rush leaving. I took a wrong turn somewhere and then I bumped into her near an exit on the way out, we would had wedged in the doorway had we not both stopped in our tracks. Sorry Siouxsie, I honestly didn't recognize you at that moment until the moment you'd spoke and thanked us for coming. Look at her body language in the TV program in places - it speaks volumes.
Thank you! 💜 - I used to watch G'N all the time but somehow missed this completely! Maybe not the interview some expect, despite such a rare & wonderful guest, but that was the show style, & Siouxsie's still as mesmerising as ever 💜
I love watching her in interviews. She carries herself in a way that's youthful and wild without sacrificng sophistication and she's very articulate. On another note, the song "K-Mart" fucking slaps! I sincerely wanna find this guy's CD.
The negative comments on here are really perplexing. They obviously know each other and anyone who's ever even heard of Graham Norton knows what his show is like and knows what they're in for when they go on. This would be different if she was sitting there honestly perturbed. She's in on it. She's laughing and it looks genuine.
No one goes on his show without knowing what it's like. It's pure publicity, and good (as in widespread) publicity at that. But I can understand people who haven't seen him (especially from other countries) finding it annoying.
Why is everyone getting so pissed off about this, it's not an interview, she's a "guest" on an entertainment show that he hosts..they have a laugh and she gets to plug her tour dates/album or whatever! All British TV talk show hosts do this. It's all about _them,_ not their guests. Jonathan Ross is the worst offender, sometimes his guests don't get to complete a single sentence without him interrupting. But they're all offenders, in this respect.
I don't get why everyone is hating her long-time friend. She used to spend a lot of time in Substation South, the gay club in Brixton where she was unpestered and drank with Graham and many others. Leave her mates alone.
I have lived in France for fifteen years now... With many cats and it has been a nightmare. But at least the locals have the honesty to tell me to #### off back to England!!
