I had to listen "through" the narrator's tabloid-style delivery and supercilious "questions" to the actual *text* of this story and it was worth my time.
Have long understood how critical a great marriage has been to Streep's career, so i liked seeing her husband/co-parent.
I feel as happy for Kidman as i would for any woman finding a great partner relatively later in life. Saying she wishes she could have had more kids with him reveals so much time, growth, and healing.
I've watched Shailene since "Teenager" - i have affection and respect for her youthful, earnest political activism. I like her physicality - as a hero or as the least glamourous of the BLL cast.
Along that same line - i LOVE that she hasn't messed with her face. Hers is neither stunning nor conventionally beautiful, nor exotic or quirky. It says a lot about her as an an actor - and at least a little about Hollywood - that her roles havent gone to "prettier" "girls."
I know the least about Kravitz. What ive seen on the show - tho i think her role is somewhat short-changed by the writers - is a depth that reminds us just what a mask beauty can be.
Her character was living behind such a mask long before she was cut off from Everything by killing a man. Kravitz' whole being trembles with isolation even as her body is still, guarded. Brava!
