Ah, so it seems that JiU is Chase's first K-pop bias. Congratulations, she's my DC bias as well. Absolutely gorgeous and talented, she distracts me every DC music video, live stage, variety show appearance and vlive.
And even if that is the case, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Sua is my personal bias but jiu is our leader for a reason! 🤘🖤
Jiu has that affect on me as well. I started out a Yoohyeon bias during Piri era, but watching their Dream Notes, and other behind the scenes videos, Jiu's personality kept shining through. And when Deja Vu came out, Jiu's visuals totally won me over. Now, Yoohyeon still remained my bias, but now with Jiu, I had to change my bias to JiYoo. And the 2 of them have been holding onto that bias spot tightly for about a couple years now.

I love that you saw how great JiU looked in this video. She actually enjoys lighter, happier concepts and shines brighter in them. It speaks to her acting skills that she can look so fierce in the MVs when she's generally the one smiling and laughing all the time. JiU is super powerful in the next video, You and I, and it's one of my favorite Dreamcatcher videos because it's creepy and all the ladies shine visually and vocally. Also, Dami's magic trick never gets old.

I've binged through all your Dreamcatcher reactions and I genuinely can't wait to see you get to their B-sides. But also, I'll go ahead and say that Kpop has much to offer if you're talking about production, and I'm interested to hear your takes on other artists also. Korean agencies are drawing from local and international producers (a lot of European ones, especially Swedes from what I understand) and I've heard the opinion that they are the best in the world right now in terms of music production. Even if the music isn't your taste, there's a LOT to break down on any given Kpop track.

Time for a serious comment. Fly High is one of my favourite DC tracks. It's that tension between the incredible catchy poppy hooky chorus and the way the heavy guitars crash into the song. Even when I know what's coming it can still floor me. And as a big Siyeon fan both her work on the chorus and second verse gets me every time.
Next in the storyline/chronology is You And I, th-cam.com/video/I5_BQAtwHws/w-d-xo.html , but the people who mention Deja Vu have a point too. Deja Vu's something quite different from the standard Dreamcatcher title track but also one of their best.
When u like rock/metal genre + kpop + something like dark fantasy/anime-ish... Damn! I'm a fan.

Fly high was the first song I ever heard by dreamcatcher, as well as the song that got me hooked. That being said, I NEVER noticed the little piano inserts at 7:50 until you pointed them out.

The melodies in this song (and many dreamcatcher songs) is very reminiscent of Japanese rock. The super unique chord changes, modulations and melodies are very prevalent in j-rock. Of course dreamcatcher adds their own spin, but that style is certainly derived from the j-rock sound.

Happy to see Fly High getting the love it deserves! I've always liked it but I don't think I appeciated its beauty until they performed its acoustic version during their last online concert. Their voices together with the piano made it a heavenly experience. I really hope it will be part of the setlist for the acoustic part of their upcomingt concert.
