To me, Fly High was when they really got into the flow of what they are and started incorporating kpop more into their rock sound and morphing it into their iconic Dreamcatcher sound. Their next comeback, You and I, is when we really see it come to fruition and I believe that was when they really solidified their existence in the game. Loving your journey with Dreamcatcher so far and looking forward to the next reaction!
"Fly High" is probably the poppiest of the Nightmare arc. It was not done by their usual production team as well. But it makes sense, since this is a prequel, so bringing in a bit of the Minx sound makes sense to me. There are really heavy parts in it as well, which clearly state that they are not Minx anymore. And I love the dark parts thrown in, they really make the song special. The light part sung by SuA after the metal break is in major, while the rest of the song is in minor. That is why it stands out so much. They did the same in Good Night, but a lot shorter. About the MV: You can see Yoohyeon burning the spider, which brought the curse of the spider queen down on the members. You will see the spider queen again in You and I. In Native American mythology, spiders are considered protectors, that is why a Dreamcatcher resembles a spider's net. That is a brilliant connection to their name! 😊
dreamcatcher \:D/ fly high refers to being successful. the theme of the song is a recurring one in their discography - staying true to yourself. that is why you always see duplicates of themselves as well as mirrors in their mvs to represent one's internal conflicts. if you keep in mind scenes of them running, it is often from themselves or the dark side more specifically. here you can see jiu running after she sees herself playing the piano. in another scene, yoohyeon is standing in front of a mirror that's being consumed by darkness but instead of running, she embraces it which sets off the visual plot of the series. also you should separate the lyrics from the visual plot to help understand each better. here the lyrics are about chasing a dream and wanting to be successful, to fly high. it shows wanting something so bad you are willing to 'fake it' and thus lose a part of yourself. like in many dreamcatcher songs, the lyrics are a reflection of themselves. as minx, they were doing what was expected from a girl group in the kpop industry. as dreamcatcher, they were making music more representative of themselves especially with their b-sides. granted not everyone was fully into rock early on but they have all embraced it now. dami is a prime example stating dc will be rock/metal til the end. the two songs dami composed are both rock so it's not something she felt compelled to do but rather wanted to do.

Had their CEO not been willing to put it all on the line after Minx's failure then Dreamcatcher wouldn't have happened. I agree that Prequel is where they really start to hit their stride. They're always leveling up with each comeback and its always impressive how they manage to continue to grow and evolve when they're already so good here.
On official Dreamcatcher channel there are playlists of each era/album which includes album teasers. You should watch those which makes you more immersed in the storyline. ❤😍
PIRI is the last one of the Nightmare series and it's one of my favorite title tracks from them too. I think you'll like PIRI even more cause it's even heavier.

Please be aware that the Nightmare Saga has 6+1 parts, Story order: Fly High, Chase Me, Good Night, You and I, What, Piri + Breaking out as alternate ending (Japanese) but I am personally not sure if the explanation spoils the upcoming M/Vs or makes them easier to understand and appreciate. My personal vote is on the 2nd actually...
