Dreamcatcher Chase Me are the protagonists of my video reaction today. I recently discovered this group and I was so impressed by their talent ever since. So, I decided to dive into their discography starting from their debut.
"Chase Me" holds significant importance for the group as it marks their new formation after rebranding from Minx, with the addition of two new members to the current seven (JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami, and Gahyeon). The song fully represents the Dreamcatcher style we know today and marks the beginning of a true legend in music.
Dreamcatcher Chase Me is out of the box compared to other kpop songs and is perfect to be the soundtrack of a Japanese anime. The MV is equally interesting as it is full of references to the famous hit film The Shining (impossible not to notice the scene that recalls that of the iconic sequence of the two twins holding hands).

"Chase me" was their debut, released on January 13th (a Friday), 2017. It must have been nerve-wrecking for the members, re-debuting with a genre that is not popular in Korea after Minx failed. (5 of them were Minx before.) But they already doubled their sales with this. And they stuck with the Rock/Metal vibe until today, now selling 50 times the albums than Minx did.
This is the start of the Nightmare arc, which spans 6 MVs and 1 Japanese release. They are Nightmares here, and the Nightmare hunter is trying to dispel them - how that turns out is shown in the next one, Good Night.

According to Google, 808 is the angel number often associated with the concept of karma and the cycle of rebirth in eastern culture. I'm not sure if that's what they were going for but the guy in the mv would eventually get his own karma handed back to him for the way he treated the girls (spoiler: he was trying to capture them in the next mv). As for rebirth, it probably signifies them returning as a new group with different concept or in the context of the story, they were reborn as Nightmares after the have been cursed (another spoiler for Fly High mv which is a prequel)

They had a fire debut and they've only gotten better as time has gone on. Your concert is coming up soon, isn't it? I've seen a bunch of the fan cams from this tour and they're doing some awesome new arrangements for some of the songs, and it seems like they're all having a blast. I look forward to hearing about your concert experience.
