    Hi!! I also had spinal fusion surgery for scoliosis last year and happened to come across your video. I had my surgery done at UCLA too but Dr. Scaduto was my surgeon. I just thought it was cool that we had it done at the same place! :)

      That’s so cool!! I loved it there at UCLA. They were amazing, i hope your surgery went well!

    Hi! I was first told I had scoliosis about 5 years ago, and at my regular checkup with my specialist the other day, he said I’m most likely going to need surgery. I’m planning on having this done sometime in the next few months and I noticed that the hospital you went to is the same one that I’ll be going to, so I was wondering if you have any advice? I’ve been really nervous about the whole thing :/

    • @sophianicolette
      @sophianicolette  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sarah! I wish you luck with your surgery! Think positively!! I suggest taking pajamas that are button down tops and bottoms that aren't tight on your waist. Also you can only eat liquids for the first day or so fyi. Another thing is take activities like a coloring book, Nintendo switch or other things. I wasn't allowed to take a laptop or anything bc it interferes with the hospitals internet. It is a big and hard surgery but you've got this!! If you have more questions dm me on ig! ❤️

      Hi! Not everyone has to get surgery! It depends on what degree your curve is. But surgery will definitely help in the long run and I go to physical therapy as well which has helped soooo much

    • @sophianicolette
      @sophianicolette  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! I thought the same thing, but it depends how much they will do on you. I had it done on the top 4-12 so practically my whole spine. I’m not the exact same in flexibility but I’m still flexible. I’m also a lot older than I was then I got the surgery but keep being active even after surgery and you’ll be good!

      @@sophianicolette I'm 16 and I have lower back scoliosis, so its scary because they will work on my whole spine too. And I'm already this old and wont grow any more Im pretty sure so I will be permanently stuck being depended on others and I don't want that at all ☹️
