you are so incredibly strong!! i am so proud of you! this recovery is not easy and relearning how to do basic things is definitely an eye opener of how much we take for granted!!!
I found out that I have scoliosis 4 years ago and did everything i could to stay away from surgery.Now my curve got worse and I have to get the surgery before i turn 19 because my doctor says its better. i am not going to lie I am terrified knowing that things could go wrong but watching your videos and how you have a beautiful mindset is so comforting. thank you

Your recovery was incredible. I recently got scoliosis surgery about a week ago and my back feels stiff and sore. I only sleep, eat a little, and walk to the restroom. Aren’t we glad to have such great doctors and people who care for us?
Joshua Zulpo Yes! it is amazing!!! that’s great that you are already starting to walk. that is a big improvement!! And my back also felt very heavy, stiff and sore during the first few weeks too

Im 6 days post op, and im already so glad i did the surgery. The pain is slowly getting better and im slowly able to do more. This video helped me a lot.

Thank you for your posting. My son is scheduled to have a spinal fusion this week. His story is also very similar to yours. He found out because he was having stomach pain and I took him to the ER and noticed it on the XRAY. His curve is similar to yours. His perk is that he will be taller than his little brother LOL...I have a slight curve as well. Anywho...thank you for sharing your story and I have forwarded him all of your videos for encouragement. I pray all is well and your healing process is going well!

I wish I had a night time brace, does anyone else have to wear their brace for twenty three hour a day? 🤷♀️
Riley Poettcker I heard of many people that have to wear days time braces
I have to wear a day time brace but for 22 hours a day
My twin daughters wear the brace for 20 hours everyday for 2 years 😢
I had to wear my back brace 16 hours a day for 10 years
How long did it take for you to get approved to get surgery for your scoliosis,I have an 80 degree curve in my spine ,and I want to get surgery,but idk how long it's going to take or what I'm going to have to do?
I had scoliosis surgery and I had it in September 20 2023 and I'm still recovering from the surgery and it painful and hard
I have scoliosis and might have to get surgery in the future if it gets any worse!

You ARE a very strong young woman! I feel a bit sorry for you because that xray tech should never have said that to you. They are not supposed to do that it is supposed to come from your doctor. Had that been it, it's likely that they would have followed you closer and got you into a brace when your curves were smaller. This would have given more of a chance to hold the curves better. It also should not have been a nighttime brace. It should have been a brace that's worn 20-23 hours a day. I say this from all the stuff I have seen and am NOT an expert. The ones that avoid surgery are the ones that the curves are caught early (no more than about 25-30 degrees) and who wear their braces for that 20-23 hours. With that said, it is what it is and it all worked out in the end. Please understand that I'm not "beating you up". :-)

I’m having surgery in two weeks and I’m scared
After the operation, does the curve completely disappear and the shape of the back appears normal? I ask this, because my son is expected to undergo this operation soon. Thank you
hi! i got the surgery three years ago, the curve should disappear almost fully if not completely. as for shape, i think that it all depends on how severe the curve is before surgery and also body type. i still have a little bit of a lump on my back even though my curve is pretty much completely straight. however this can probably just be helped with a bit of exercise!

it's going pretty good. They took lockers out of my middle school and I still can't lift so my sister has the carry my bookbag around but other than that I'm back to normal. is it normal for there to be still numbness in my back this far after surgery?
Mallori Oliver i had numbness for a while. It took a while for it to go away. I actually have a little part of my back that’s a little bit numb still
