I was riding my '22 Hayabusa recently and from far away spotted a couple riding their bikes in the lot where the DMV motorcycle course is administered.
One of the bikes looked to me like a 450SS, so I had to go check it out. I introduced myself to the nice couple and started gushing about their bike.
I loved how the LCD display is high resolution and looks more like a sticker than a display. I was so impressed. The bike looks like a baby Aprilia. It's so tiny. The exhaust sounds beefy for being stock. The winglets look amazing. Freakin' thing has a Brembo caliper too, ha-ha.
The lady was laughing because I got off a Hayabusa to gush about her bike, but I told her that once we own something, the novelty wears off and it's no longer such a big deal, so me finally seeing her bike in person made my day and it's why I was so giddy about it.
We exchanged numbers, so now I have two new riding buddies. Hopefully they'll let me ride it, ha-ha. I really love it. Nothing about it screams Chinatown quality. It has presence.
This is a very interesting and refreshing comment. Thank you for sharing that. Life on twos should be just like in your little story.
@@TSTindustries I totally agree!🤓 Thank YOU for reading and appreciating my little story. The event made my afternoon. Take care and be blessed!🫶
@@JESUSISCALLINGYOU7 feel free to share more uplifting stories. Let's offset all the doom reported in the media nowadays.
The sliders are functiona AF , the rental shop's 1st customer was a gal and she tipped it over, sliders work!
Ive been a 450ss owner for about 7months now and have riden it about 4k miles. Its not my first bike and it surprised me how good it actually was. Being made in China, i had my doubts. But i was easily won over by the build quality and feel of the motor and transmission. Its not perfect by any means but its well worth the money with everything it offers.
Also there is a tiny keyhole on the the left side of the bike just below the front seat. It unlocks the passenger seat to reveal the "storage" compartment. Tools have to be used to lift the front seat however
how is the swingarm on yours, i know its a common issue
I've never heard of this common issue. And I've never had problems with the swingarm
@@Zeus2013 the issue was that the alignment was caused my some sketchy welds and the chain tensioner
@@nahpknim courious about that too
Been riding my 2024 450SR-S for a month and loving it! It's a great beginner/learner bike with plenty of power to learn on. Lightweight, single swing arm, sounds great, nimble, predictable power and fun. Traction Control feature for riding in the wet or loose gravel road is a bonus for beginner riders too. Definitely a fun/fantastic first bike to learn on before upgrading to a 600cc+ bike later down the track. I'm considering an Aprilia RS660 as my 2nd bike, but for now, I'm loving this 450SR-S.
I really like this bike personally. im looking to surprise my wife with her first bike. Thank you for the review🤙🏾
That's funny you say that bc I'm about to surprise my wife with one of them too. 😊
4:30 Those are slider slots, there are aftermarket sliders that protrude further that bolts into it.
Just found out about this channel when y'all posted the fender eliminator. Can't believe you guys also do bike reviews, Subbed!
Great review! I bought the 2024 450SR-S and can't wait for delivery next week!
I bought my first bike this summer and went with the 450SS, I have zero regrets. 2024 model is even better.
Can you guys make some high quality levers and maybe a full headers dual exhaust.
For now we are waiting to see how the part set we just made does in this new market. If we have success we will make some more. If it turns out that the market for CF Moto parts is weak, we will stay away.
CFMOTO makes upgraded billet levers I believe. Maybe give your local dealer a call and see if they have any.
Cant wait to get mine! Itll be my first bike. What windshield is that?
gonna try to get one in a few months! i'm excited
There is a seat lock down lower for rear pillion where a wrench is stored to remove the main seat. I dare you to look again then should be additional tool kit by battery.
I agree with the service interval comments. It’s what kept me away from Owning Ducati. It’s insane to own an inexpensive item that keeps bleeding you.
This a cool little bike👌 We need Bart to tart it up😉⭐️
Comment about the weight: the claimed weight is the dry weight, whereas the Ninja 400 claimed weight is the wet weight. CFMOTO in Europe is upfront that the wet weight is 395ish pounds.
seatlock on left side of bike but only for the passanger seat
Yhe Aprilia-esque grey/black/red colors are growing on me with every view.
Finally something for the cfmoto
I have lots of bikes R1, R6, 765,V4 sp Panigale .
The fasteners sux on the cfmoto450ss 44 in fact 😂 and you have to take the fairings off to take the tank off.
The faux carbon scratches easy.
But the bike quality is excellent for the price point.
This bike is the best handling bike i have better them my R1 and R6 and 765 its so sweet it shits on the Ninja 400 and the R7 .
This company in a few years is going to be huge when it gets a name for itself in Western countries and with the 675 coming out it be even better.
As a beginners bike its a winner 🥇
Ps: the tires are shit they are dangerous best fit for the 450ss are the Bridgestone S22 perfect for the bike 😊
There is a key lock its the round hole on the left side panel below the seat its recessed hard to find it.
Thanks for all that feedback and info! We're pretty excited about the future of the motorcycle industry and newer companies like CFMoto take on the heavyweights that have been in the industry. - Mark
Im very curious to see how these bikes handle the years go by... looks and rides great in the beginning but let's see the long term reliability. Hopefully parts become more accessible too because rn they're a pain to get and if you don't have a dealership close by it'll take a while for you to order and get standard maintenance parts.
I rode my during an impending storm with 40 mph crosswinds had to lean bike heavily into the wind.
Those rear turn signals, do you have any for the Yamaha Tracer 9? I like the dual function.
Those are our Quadrix -D lamps compatible with just about any bike. You couple those up with Yamaha harness converters we offer, and you've got yourself a plug and play connection. If you want tail light and brake light function, you will needvto tap that from the tail light on your bike.
@@TSTindustries Thanks for the response. I would rather not tap into the factory wiring, a dongle might be best.
i own the 300Nk. I dont have a lot of milage on it. For now i like the bike. The only complaint i have its the cluth. I have 24 years of experience. i have own different bike (ninja 600, gsx-r 750, boulevard M50 and M90, harley davidson flhx, harley davidson road glide, duke ktm) but its the first time that i have problem to be smooth on first gear when i start at a red light for exemple.
i hope its just an adaptation. Yes i am a little bit nervous about how it will hold up but in the mean time i heard biker's complaining about there BMW for exemple, so i guess every company's have there issues
... strange, I bought this CFMoto 450SR in Germany for my son, - it has a seat lock for the passenger seat under the left side panel close to the upper level of the shock absorber! Isn't it the same in the US version 450SS - if not - how will the passenger seat removed then? ...
The passenger seat is removed by removing hardware.
@@TSTindustries www.cfmotousa.com/assets/cfmoto/images/customer_care/owners_manuals/cfmoto-450ss-om-usa-20230725-small.pdf
@TSTindustries ... let's have a look at page 30 #7...
The lock as he stated is for rear passenger seat not the rider seat....where allen key is stored to remove main rider seat. Plain plastics look boring. You obviously have not really looked at bike if you have missed the lock.
Where did you end up buying yours? I see you guys are in Deltona
CF Moto USA just dropped off a unit for a couple weeks. There is a nice smaller dealership in Sanford. I find that smaller dealerships will give you a more personal experience than large corporate chains, and this is why I alway give my business to the smaller guys.
please do performace upgrades for the bike
At this time we are waiting to see how the few parts we already developed do with sales. We won't commit to any more work unless there is a good volume of sales.

Wait till you get the SRS single sided swingarm version 😉
Just hold your horses. And wait for the inline 4 500cc SR
@@goldwally1428 triple 675 or 800
@@goldwally1428not sure whether this is a joke or not, but the one with single swing arm and short exhaust is called the SR-S, it is already being offered in Asia.
@@terramatela6351 yes it's true we already have it here in the Philippines
Maybe develop a hardware kit for there bikes stainless steel even titanium
hello i got a 450 anyone know of a place that tunes the ecu
Main Street Cycles
For a beginner what would you recommend this one or ninja 400/500
That would solely depend on budget and preferences. Looks play big into it along with tech. The Ninja 400/500 is a solid platform and we did a first ride review on our Ninja 500 as well.
@@TSTindustries really on a budget first my first bike and less problems
@@Shadow.Shot.Airsoft I would urge you to consider a used Ninja 400 if that's the case.
No one mentions the horrible service intervals and costs. TWO (!) services at least per year are required to keep the warrenty. If you ride more, than 3 to 4 per year. That is insane.
Thanks for letting us know!
If you can't service your vehicle once a year than just use the bus or walk cos that's pathetic to hear
@@Alen-DKright? I drive 12000 miles a year in my car, and I’m supposed to get it serviced (oil change basically) every 3k miles soooooo
In my opinion Extended range oil changes recommended by factories is never a good start to any preventive maintenance program.
Motorcycles like these carry one theme in common.
Both the engine and the transmission share the same oil.
Boil the oil once in your engine and you immediately cut its life expectancy in half!
The transmission gears would literally sheer regular car oil molecules in half.
I've always based my oil changes on how the transmission is shifting regardless of mileage.
As soon as shifting starts to feel notchy, nolonger smooth?
Dump the oil and replace the filter.
The CFMOTO 450SS/SR has service intervals of 3000 miles / 5000 kilometers or six months between oil.
changes - quite a bit shorter than most of the competition in this class, other than the Kawasaki Ninja 400 which has 3750 miles / 6000 km or annual service intervals.
At every service, do a full inspection. There are a number of items to do every second service, including changing the spark plugs, plus inspecting some items like the air filter.
On the other hand, the valve service interval is a healthy 24000 mi / 40000 km, on the long end for most motorcycles (which tend to be around 16000 miles / 25000 km, other than for Yamaha motorcycles).
As the engine in the 450SS / 450SR is liquid-cooled, you have to keep the coolant fresh, as well as keep the brake fluid fresh - schedule a liquid replacement every two years.
@@user-et5om1ci9u That’s actually very reasonable. I don’t what people are complaining about. My Pan America has a 5,000 mile oil change interval, and I wouldn’t want to go any longer than that on any bike.
SS ????
Put Kawasaki on their toes to up the Ninja 400
No more Ninja 400, its discontinued and replaced by 500.
😳
@@TSTindustries500 is really just 451cc and still has same hp and torque figures as 400.
@@JessicaSimonson1976 - Almost. I've got a 400, it's slightly less @ 47.5 hp/28 lb.ft. trq -
the ninja 500, (both claimed) Maximum Horsepower 51.0 hp @ 10,000 rpm
Maximum Torque 31.7 lb-ft @ 7,500 rpm
So fake carbon fiber compared to more fake plastic. What's the difference. There not trying to fool anyone. Hardware I do agree with but then again I own a ktm we know all about shit hardware. Let's see you complained about the seat then you changed you mind. Thank God you didn't do what everyone else has done and said (oh what about parts availability) so I'm on the fence. This company has done more for the whole industry than anyone can imagine. It brings eye openers to the company's that have been around to step it up or else. First year and Kawasaki has to open their eyes. This is good people. So fake carbon , shitty screws, if this is all the major complaints I welcome c.f. moto to drop off anything in my lap. Sure it will hold up to anything built here in u.s. Oh yea we don't have anything except Harley. So if your going to slam the Chinese screw you . Remember Peral harbor? (Japanese are proven) they didn't get here over night either. That's all I got. Thanks for the rant. P.S. Love your tail tidy...
6k is crazy expensive for a no name bike
Cfmoto seems very agressive with the marketing..all youtubers say good thing about it..wonder how much cfmoto spends..how much these utubers got paid
They have become very aggressive but I think it's because they have planted themselves in the US and are trying to bring the market over. We were not paid for this, and, we never are when we do first ride reviews. We reached out to them for a bike and they were able to lend us one for this. Our review and everything said within are our own thoughts and impressions. -ML
Those are some ugly ass rear turnlights
Chinesium..... that is all
😂
Until you ride it no talking room.
Chinese bike without the chinese parts😉
KTM actually has a lot to do with cfmoto. So there's actually a lot of really good parts on these bikes. You can even see it in the design of the bikes.
