  • So, this was a surprise. I did not expect to like this bike as much as I did, the 2024 models have just been released as well and the new paint screams are amazing. Sry for the vertical video, Im hoping that is will work well when viewing vertical on a cellphone.

    Thank you for the impressions. Would you say that this also works well as a second smaller bike to enjoy sportier (not necessarily faster) riding similar to the ninja 400? First bike would be a z900rs. Thanks again.

      Thanks for watching! Yes I think it’s an awesome sporty back roads ripper just like the n400, I honestly would get it before the z900 and get some practice in then grab up the z. Both awesome bikes

    Great quick review. Just straight forward. Crazy how this came out and instantly Kawasaki has the Ninja and Z500's coming out next year. Very competitive field for new starter bikes. Plus the Aprillia 457! CFMoto , also, came out with the NK 800 and maybe they produce an 800SS to compete with R7 and new GSX 8R! Im guessing Honda will do something with the 750 and Kawasaki should really upgrade the 650! Lots of fun bikes to look forward to!

    • @glsracer
      @glsracer 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I would love to see an 800SS. It's good to see Kawasaki moving up to the 500 soon, it's just more proof that the A2/LAMS limitations are really too limited. While the US has no limits enforced, the fact that the rest of the world does means that we will always be fighting the bureaucrats for what we actually want.

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks man, I appreciate that. Yea man, i think they got a little scared. The N500 is going to be cool and a welcome upgrade as the 400 has been the same since 2018. Im happy to see the market getting some competition and really hope to see that 457 and the 450ss have a chance in MotoAmerica next year so its not just a N400 cup. Totally agree the kawi 650 really needs an upgrade, i know they love that engine but its just too linear and a little boring IMO

    • @tima7662
      @tima7662 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ScoutsOut that would be awesome to see a little more variety in the Junior cup! The Ninja 400 is a great little bike but competition with the 450ss, 457 and RC390 plus upgraded R3 would be a blast. I know they made it this way to make it an entry level, lower budget class and it makes it easier for ECU offerings so that each bike is identical. You can definitely see that skill is the deciding factor most of the time. But seeing different manufacturers offerings and maybe even backing would be great.
      The Ninja 650 could easily be upgraded but I believe Kawasaki will do that soon enough. I mean these two bikes account for a large volume of their business in European and Asian markets because of compliance issues. The US market is not where the money is at for motorcycles but we can always dream. At least we're getting some fantastic offerings from CFMoto!

    • @tima7662
      @tima7662 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@glsracer Yeah the motorcycle market is dominated by Europe and Asia. I completely understand it but at least CFMoto is looking to the US market and filling in the offerings we want. They saw the European and Japanese manufacturers starting to cater directly to Europe and Asia. You can see the response already with Kawasaki and Aprillia jumping quickly to correct their shortcomings. I'm puzzled by Suzuki's response with how slow they are to change. (GSX250R, really?)Honda is Honda and dominates the market. They are a slower to respond. Yamaha and Kawasaki really are starting to pull away. Triumph and Royal Enfield are making roads too! CFMoto is pushing them in a positive way for us. Politics be damned!

    • @glsracer
      @glsracer 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@tima7662 yes, and I'm very happy to see that. I have a CBR500R as well as a BMW RT. The CBR is great for what it is but despite intake, header/exhaust, ECU flash, etc, it still needs a cam to feel unlocked because of the A2 garbage it was designed to comply with. The BMW doesn't feel as limited by bureaucracy. It will be interesting to see what we get in the US once they aren't building middleweight bike with A2 and LAMS as the target.

    I found a used white one with 150 miles on it for 5k, I've had a ton of bikes and worked many yrs in the industry, let me tell ya, this bike is a home run, I liked the SS so much I bought the new NK, it's awesome too but it doesn't have a metal tank and doesn't have as much going on but still more comfortable and handles great, brakes are exactly the same between the two. It's not only for beginners (SS and NK), the old road racers/advanced street riders that still do some street riding can do some real damage to big bikes on tight roads, especially going down a mountain.

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nice, thats a good deal. Totally agree, i like my big bikes but i have just as much fun on the little ones and they are the best training tools. I’m really hoping the SS gets some aftermarket parts going for it and that is finds its way into MotoAmerica to mix up the bikes a little.

    For a first motorcycle what would be better for mostly city riding with highway speeds every now and then? The 450SS or the R7?

    • @fireice1997
      @fireice1997 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I haven’t ridden the r7 yet but I’ve watched a fare share about it. My 450 was my 22nd bike so I’ve owned my fare share of different motorcycles. With that said I think the 450 would fit what you are looking for more. The clutch is very light so your fingers wont get fatigued when in traffic. I live in Texas and the engine heat never cooked the inside of my legs even on 100° days. Also having turn by turn directions on the dash may be easier for you as well. The 450 also has motion detection so if someone touches your bike you’ll get a notification on your phone and that works anywhere. It doesn’t need WiFi or your cellphone to be in range. I was 1600 miles away from my bike and every time my son (20 months old) would climb or play on the bike I would get a notification. So that might be a good feature for living in the city. Also if you filter or lane split I would assume it’s easier on this bike. It’s very thin and maneuverable. If you have any other questions let me know🤙🏼
