  • Carl takes some time describing how to optimize your Roll20 experience for Savage Worlds. Among many tips, he looks at some scripts that make managing status and dealing initiative more efficient. With some simple setup, Roll20 is a great platform for playing the Savage Worlds RPG. I apologize for a minor audio issue for part of the video.

    Great video and some really great APIs and Macros. I'm running a Deadlands Game via roll20 and this was truly great as it makes the whole shebang so much easier and streamlined to run. The less I have to focus on mechanical things the more time I can use to give my players a fun experience and adventure. Long live Savage Worlds!

    That's a very helpful video, especially for API use with Savage Worlds. I linked the Roll20 wiki page to it; I'm not sure if they allow that and it will last, but for now at least I hope it reaches the people who need it.

    There is no option for including api scripts on my game, is it somewhere else nowadays?
    Edit: nevermind its behind the paywall

    do you use the roll20 savage worlds adventure deck add-on?

      When this video was made, the official deck didn't exist. I have purchased the official one since then and use that now with my games.

    I didn't understand how to put custom token marks in the Status Manager, could you clarify?

    • @ASavageWorldsGM
      @ASavageWorldsGM  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The important part before calling the !swstatus changemarker is to be sure you've setup your custom set of tokens using the Roll20 UI (wiki.roll20.net/Token_Markers). Then assign your custom marker to a token on page, select the token, then !swstatus dump will show the names of all the markers assigned. The name listed is the one to use not the one you assign (the listed one using dump is what the system calls your token). Hope that helps.

    Is this still relevant with the current Official Savage Worlds Sheet?

    • @ASavageWorldsGM
      @ASavageWorldsGM  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I believe the official sheet is very similar (or based on?) to the tabbed sheet. Based on that, they might work much the same. I've been spending more time on Foundry lately, so haven't given anything a try yet.

      @@ASavageWorldsGM Yeah, Foundry is a big W than Roll20, if only they have something like API limit for free users it would be not so L

    Excellent video, but PEG should be ashamed people still have to re-code Roll20 to make the game easily playable there. You would think the company would be all over making all the VTT implementations as turn-key/easy and as like playing live as possible the moment one buys a PEG vtt product.
