In case you haven't found out, you can press the fn+right/left arrow to change a single color animation (it works great if you have like orange or blue color theme desk setup). It is a feature on K3 V2 optical so I think it probably works on the K2 version as well.
I have the K2 V1 for about 6 months now, picked it up secondhand on ebay. I use it for Linux. I rock the mac setupp with the windows ALT key instead of option (since linux uses alt) - I've since got some aftermarket red WASD /ESC/.Arrows, and blank red super keys flanking the spacebar. Looks slick.

I recommend forking over $10 extra for the RGB. I though I wouldn't care for it and the only reason why I got it was non RGB was out of stock, but I'm glad I have the RGB. It looks pretty special.

I'm glad they decided to lube the stabilizers because from his typing test, it sounded rough. Although I do wish that they had more switch options, they used to have gateron yellow switches in their keyboard. Not sure what happened.

Thanks for sharing. They definitely market the compatibility with all devices, but i always get windows layouts on all my other keyboards so that's why i was a bit surprised.
I had the original K2, but rarely used it, because the front lip is just way too high for my typing style. And I don't have space nor the inclination to clutter my desk with a palm rest (I wish Keychron had at least made it magnetic so that it sticks to the keyboard when it's on the desk). If you like tall keyboards (and some people do), then the K2 is very nice for its price, although I would definitely spend the extra $5 for the PBT keycaps (the ABS keys feel light and cheap). Other quibbles: No Ins key (you can use a remapping program, but I can't do that with my locked down corporate work laptop). Well, that's it, really. Cheap default caps, too tall at the front, and no Ins key. If none of those bother you the K2 is definitely worth a look. Currently using a drop ENTR, and it's been doing well, although I prefer the action of the Gateron Browns on the K2 to the Halo Trues on the ENTR. This is a subjective thing, as some people prefer the more obvious bump on the Halo Trues and their more aggressive rebound profile. The lower front lip on the ENTR definitely makes it more comfortable for me to type on, though.

That's totally a preference thing. All of those sets are great. The only thing i want to point out to you though is i don't think any of those have all of the non-standard keys for the K2. Namely, the 1u bottom row keys, productivity keys, and right shift.

The stabs on this Keychron are better than the One 2 SF to be honest. I personally would run the One 2 SF and prefer it overall though. Other than the stabs, I do like the typing experience on the One 2 SF. I just wish it offered more switch types.

Yes, that is true and applies to all electronics and batteries. If batteries are continuously at 100%, they will lose their capacity over time. I tend to disconnect sometimes just to discharge the battery a bit in order to avoid some of the battery loss.
It looks like the length is about the same for both keyboards but the height is different. The K2 has the F keys and more dedicated keys. I would prefer that, you'd have to rely a lot on shortcuts with the K6 for the productivity keys. I think the K2 is taller but it doesn't really intrude on your desk space (as opposed to length). That would be my pick! Also, it looks like they have a hot-swap K2 so opt for that one!! Let me know if you have any questions.
I'm not sure what you mean by chroma caps or even clear keys. Can you link me to the set you're talking about? This keyboard is amazing but it has somewhat of a nontraditional layout so it may be a little hard but not impossible to find a keycap set for.

Honestly, swapping out these keycaps for a fullset is going to be an ordeal. A lot of the productivity keys will be nonstandard row heights. Some of them are of nonstandard sizes and the right shift key is nonstandard as well. Keychron does offer some keycap sets like this one: www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k2-dye-sub-pbt-retro-mac-keycap-set imo if you wanted to really spice it up you would have to get some keycaps you like to spice it up and another set of blank ones of the correct row height for the productivity keys and also the correct size right shift.
Interesting! I just looked at it and it looks like the pbt version also comes with the aluminum frame which makes more sense now! I wish they would've done that before and sent that one out to me instead 🤣
Noticed a weird rattling sound on my brand new K2 V2, so I spotted a small black screw under the keys. Just took it out. Is this a spare screw given? or... why is there a random screw there?
How does it work if you connect this keyboard to a pc and laptop wirelessly at the same time? Do inputs go to both pc and laptop? How about if you connect wired to a pc then wireless to a laptop?
You can set one color for the backlight. You use the light key to cycle to through the different RGB modes. There is a solid color option available and to change the colors FN Left or Right.
Question is a little subjective but I do think it would be loud if you got tactile switches. It would be better if you ran with red linear switches or something similar though.
I'm letting one of my friends borrow it right now and he types fine without a wrist rest but i strongly prefer them now. I know that really doesn't answer your question. Haha i don't think it's super necessary but i prefer it personally.
it's an amazing board but that shipping is quite pricey. I think eventually keychron will be offered there. They're a good company and i'm legit impressed with their products so far!

I'll be honest with you I haven't run kailh box browns yet. I've messed with cherry mx browns a lot though. The bump with cherry browns is very subtle. I don't think it's a favorite in the keyboard community. I don't have a problem with them but it is a fairly plain tactile switch. Not impressed with the feel or sound.
@@seanmarquez7484 It's hard to recommend the kailh box brown since i haven't directly tried it but if i had to choose, i would choose that over cherry mx brown for sure. There's a lot of high quality kailh switches that i really like and that i think are better than cherry mx. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the box browns were better but like i said i can't say so from direct experience. That's just what i would do.
It depends on your typing style. I like like to plant my wrists on something when I type instead of typing with my hands and wrists in the air. If you do the latter, you'll be fine but I do think the keyboard is a little tall if you want to plant your wrists on the desk/table without a wrist rest.

Been keeping a eye on keychron latetly if they had wider switch variety I think I might of bitten.
They have the main gateron switches and i just noticed some optical switch options as well.

Fn+1/2/3 switches to the different wireless devices. I don’t have a k2 but a k8 which switches the same way and does so quite fast.
