- On December 3, 2023, we welcomed Edmund Gwenn (Kris Kringle in Miracle on 34th Street) to his new home at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. His urn was rediscovered earlier this year after 64 years in an inaccessible vault at Chapel of the Pines.
Thank you to everyone who donated to support these efforts!
And special thanks to Chapel of the Pines, and Hollywood Forever Cemetery, for working with us to make this Christmas miracle happen.

Miracle on Catalina Street
By Arthur Dark
T'was three weeks before Christmas, when all through the hall
Of an old mausoleum, people sat near a pall.
They'd come from afar, and they'd come from anear,
To see ol' Kris Kringle, get laid to rest here.
But shed not a tear on this solemn occasion,
For Santa's not dead -- do you need some persuasion?
If you look to your left, and you look to your right,
Your eyes will behold a most curious sight.
Santas, not one, but two, three, or more,
Through them lives the spirit of Christmases of yore.
They've come here to honor their key inspiration,
The Santa of film for a whole generation.
He made us belive in that magic again,
We call him Kris Kringle, his name's Edmund Gwenn.
But after his death, Edmund's urn was mislaid,
Lost down in a vault, there for decades it stayed.
We searched high and low, and we searched all around,
But hope grew quite dim that he'd ever be found.
'Til one fateful day, a hard-working elf,
Found wrapped in a bag, Edmund's urn on a shelf.
She shouted with glee, "He's not lost anymore!
We've found him! We've found him, that man we adore!"
For 64 years Edmund's fate was unknown,
But now we could finally give Santa a home.
Despite all the years passed since he did depart,
Our dear Edmund Gwenn had not once left our heart.
That jolly old man, he made Christmas so pleasant,
It now was our turn to give Santa a present.
So we all came together, showing love in return,
To give Mr. Gwenn a glass house for his urn.
Here Edmund will rest, from this storied December,
Forever adored by those who still remember.
Now out of the dark, finally brought to the light,
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

It's sad that no family claimed him.
Doing Gods work
Wish I could have attended in person, but so glad to have helped to make this happen. ❤
How fabulous! A real miracle which is the homecoming of Santa Claus to be showcased forever.
God bless you all. 😊😊😊
That legit made tear up. So beautifully done Author. Great job man.
Okay , now I have tears of joy running down my face . I’m 63 years old and remember going to the movies or on tv . Santa stared my Christmas like always and will always be the real Santa to me
I'm 63 too I'm ready to watch the movie now
Same, only I am 69… one of my all time favorites! Hugs everyone!
Me too! I watch the movie every year and I watched it every time with my Grandma when I visited her. It may have been in the Summer to Fall, but it was still a tradition for us. 😊 She would be happy knowing this occurred for him. ❤
So beautiful! ❤🎅🏻
Thank you, Arthur and Jessica, for doing this for Mr. Gwenn and the other stars lost in the vaults and unmarked graves.
Love the poem. Thank you Mr. Dark
That video of finding Edmund in the Chapel of the Pines will never not make me emotional. A deep heartfelt thanks to the Chapel, to Hollywood Forever, to the Gwenn family and Arthur Dark and the Hollywood Graveyard family for their roles in the greatest gift that can be asked for - that they never be forgotten.
As one of the many donors to the fund for Mr. Gwenn's niche, I'm really pleased to see how the ceremony went and how many people turned out for it. Thank you, Arthur and Jessica, for helping to bring Santa home for Christmas. ♥
Thank you for donating to him.
I was in the hospital for my heart problems. Didn't know until I got out that this happened. God Bless you and all who did this.
What a nice turnout. I donated to this cause and am so glad others did as well. Arthur, thank you for heading this project.
I'm a Gen Z kid, and I've never seen the movie, but my eyes still sting with tears for this glorious moment. Perhaps this year, I should give Miracle on 34th Street a watch. Might even be here on TH-cam. I'm glad that Edmund Gwenn now has a proper eternal resting place.
Do it Amanda it's a classic film.
You'll also find out where so many tropes come from. It is a heart-warming movie, but it's not syrupy or inane. The theme of post-war and general 20th century attitudes of disillusionment and focusing only on provable fact is perfect for our times too. We all need reminders that sometimes, there are things in this world that can't be explained and that's all right, sometimes, that might even be the point. :) Happy holidays to you!
I’m 26 and I haven’t seen it before. I think this’ll be the year I finally watch it.
It's only on Disney Plus.
@Amanda-zn7ox - I'm a Gen X and I was the same with Casablanca and Key Largo so I made myself rent them and watch them; so glad I did. I will be doing the same with this movie and many more. They far beat some of the rubbish they produce these days!
I am so happy Edmund was found and has his new home in the Light.I am tearing up.Thank Arthur and all who donated. God Bless
And it's quite the delicious case of irony that he was brought back into the _light_ by a man by the last name of _Dark._
I got weepy too.
Thank you Arthur! Countless fans of Mr. Gwenn will forever be grateful. I'm not crying by the way...
I am not crying - too 😊
I burst into tears when Mr Gwenn's urn was placed in the niche. Words alone cannot describe the joy I felt when I watched the discovery of his urn in that other video. The work you and all the others who contributed is simply incredible and unmatched. Thank you for letting everyone share in this wonderful moment.
It was a pleasure and an honor to help donate for his legacy and thank you everyone for making his legacy live on. 🎅 🎄
Hi Arthur, what a beautiful and moving ceremony. Thank you for the massive effort I'm sure it took to make this happen and for inviting the public to be a part of it. I'm so glad I was able to attend and it was nice to finally meet you..
Being a child born in this season, I was thrilled to be able to join in donating to see that Mr. Gwenn has the loving home he deserves. :) Jessica’s reaction upon finding him is my favorite moment of everything on this whole channel!! It’s such a beautiful moment. Miracles do indeed happen.
Thank you Arthur, Jessica, and everyone at Chapel of the Pines for the immense love you have shown all of those people who rest there. If only we could gift to all of the 10,000+ people the beautiful final homes they deserve, ones like the one we gave Edmund Gwenn…
Arthur, do you have any idea what a special person you are? So many people would not care about some old timey actor. Yet here you are giving this classic a beautiful home forever. Bravo, Sir.
That is fantastic! He has always been my favorite Santa, even though he was gone several years before I was born. It's lovely that so many people got together to give him a home for Christmas. Thank you to everyone who make this miracle happen. 😊❤
Well Done, All who put Edmund Gwenn to rest in a proper space. May his memory be eternal.
it is an honor to have contributed to securing a more dignified and fitting resting place for Mr. Gwenn.
“Miracle on 34th Street” has always been one of my favorite films, Christmas or otherwise, and I watch it every holiday season. this year’s viewing will be all the more special, knowing what we did to make this joyous event happen. hopefully, we will have the privilege of contributing toward securing final resting places and/or suitable headstones (as the case may warrant) for more stars of his caliber in the future! ❤
So happy I got to be apart of this special event for Edmund. Met many cool people and chit chatting with Santa was extra fun. I live 40mins from Hollywood Forever Cemetery, so I have a new celebrity to visit anytime Im there.
Happy Holidays everyone!
THANK YOU! For years, I have been begging on every YT video of Miracle on 34th Street for someone to save Edmund from the dank pit of the Pines. You have made me SO happy.
I have been a subscriber since your first video. I remember you mentioning about Edmund Gwen and how you hoped he would have his own spot. It is full circle coming to this point. And I am happy to be a part of it.❤❤❤
I’ve also been an original subscriber since the very first TH-cam video
This is so wonderful! It was our absolute honor to contribute to our amazing Santa's final sleigh stop. Thank you Hollywood Graveyard for giving him a send off fit for a king! Love it! 🥰😇🥰😇🥰
Sobbed right through this. May you all be blessed beyond measure for doing this.
Arthur, thanks to you and Jessica for this effort to give Edmund a permanent resting place at Hollywood Forever. I'm sure he's up there looking down and saying "thanks for finding me" too.
Oh my goodness. This is so magical. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped and I’m so glad he was found after all these years. Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄 🎅
A big thank you to all involved for giving Mr. Gwenn back to all his fans and posterity.
It happened! Wonderful! Arthur thank you for everything you do and for giving us these videos, tributes, and memories of old Hollywood. I've been watching since day #1. Many of these people are completely forgotten if it wasn't for HG.
EG is an Oscar winner...Let's not forget that, too 🎄🎅
I donated to this because it was one of my Mom's favorites. He deserved this honor. He is not forgotten.
How kind of everyone involved and special thanks to Arthur & Jessica. Merry Christmas!
Thank you. Arthur & Jessica are my new heroes. I am 68 and your little videos brought happy tears.....Hollywood Graveyard Forever! "He deserves to be Remembered".....
My heart is stirred with emotion by this video. A story of lapsed attention for a person whose remains were stored pending arrangements for the final interment of ashes. May this man’s soul now rest in eternal peace and tranquility. Admirers & stewards of community decency finalized Edmund Gwenn’s funeral arrangements❣️ May God bless you all and to all a good night 🌙. 🌻
And he's placed right next to the lovely Helen Chandler, another lost star found and in her new home. Thank you, Arthur.
A fitting tribute to the man, the actor, and the character he made famous. Bravo!
What a beautiful and wonderful day for Edmund Gwenn and Hollywood Graveyard for being a part of the team looking for his remains and finding them and all who participated in the fundraising to give this “beloved Santa Clause a new forever home where everyone can see him now ❤😀❤😁. Beautiful video Arthur Dark and staff. Job well done.👏👍😀😁
Was happy to donate to this. Would've been such a shame if Edmund remained lost in that vault. The turnout for the ceremony is a truly amazing sight.
Perfect!...Absolutely perfectly done...Congratulations and well done to everyone involved and to all those that donated. Rest now in peace, Mr.Gwenn. Merry Christmas to one and all!🎄🎁🎄
Sooo glad to have joined others in helping you and Jessica make this happen! What a beautiful ceremony and niche! You've saved a bit of Christmas for generations!
Beautifully done! We went home afterward, watched Miracle on 34th Street, and cried. Thank you again!
I'm happy that he's been found and can now be visited by his fans and possibly descendants.
Thank you, Arthur and Jessica for finding Edmund Gwenn deep within the Vaults and bringing him to his proper resting place. His Santa character in this wonderful classic movie lives within all our hearts! May Mr. Gwenn rest in eternal peace and be forever loved and visited by all his fans!

I'm not crying...you're crying. He truly was Kris Kringle in the hearts of so many ❤. Thank you guys for bringing him home ❤
Thank you, Arthur and Jessica ... I cried watching this video ... From now on, Christmas will not be Christmas without a celebration at Hollywood Forever Cemetery !!!!
Thank you Arthur for giving a final resting niche. I realize lots of very good boys and girls had a a big part in this joyous outcome you got the ball rolling Mr. Dark. God bless everyone who gave Mr. Gwenn a niche where he can be visited by all.
It is still so cool that you guys found him and gave him a proper place for the urn. One of the coolest things I’ve seen.
It was an honour to participate in a small way to making this happen, thanks Jessica and Arthur!
You really did something here, Arthur Q. Dark! We all appreciate it. 🙂 Happy we were able to help a little bit.
So beautiful, so moving! Thank you 🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻
Absolutely a beautiful conclusion ❤ It brought tears to my eyes to see how he now has a home where people can come to visit. It was truly a miracle that he was found ❤
What a beautiful story for Edmund Gwenn, I thought of what you all did to find him and give him a new place when I watched "Miracle on 34th Street", it put tears in my eyes.
He had such a pleasant voice.
I remember how well he portrayed Mr. Bennet in the 1940s adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, starring Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier. He's my favorite Mr. Bennet of all.
I'm so glad he finally has an appropriate resting place.
Very nice video. Thanks for honoring him i love that Christmas movie.
WOW !!!!!!!!!!! I have been waiting for this video. Dearest Santa..He was never "lost"...we knew right where he has always been...IN THE HEARTS OF ALL CHILDREN and We older Children at heart! We have always believed in Miracles. He showed us all, and taught us to believe. Then, HE showed you, Arthur and Jessica, where to find him just as he did in the movie. There are no accidents in this world, and he once again taught us to believe and then He made himself known and found. What a renewing and heart warming story. Merry Christmas to ALL, and especially to our "Santa", Mr. Gwenn, a very sweet and peacfull, GOODNIGHT! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
your comment is not only incredibly accurate but very well written! he has certainly been in the hearts of his many fans for all these years; thankfully, we were all blessed with the opportunity to turn our collective thought into action! 💜
I’m so glad he was found now he has Home.🎉
I'm crying knowing that Edmund Gwen got this well deserved resting place. "Miracle on 34th Street" is one of my favorite Christmas movies just like it is for my mom and Grandma. My Grandmother would be crying if she was alive today and I told her about his story. I knew that the funds would be raised fast and I am happy to participate in the donation for his final and permanent resting place. Thanks to everyone who donated and especially thanks to you and Jessica for finally finding him and starting the GoFundMe, Arthur. Love and thanks from Texas to everyone who helped. 😊🎉
I'm so happy that Mr Gwenn was found and has finally found a permanent forever home now.
Beautifully done Mr Dark.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
A grateful heart to those who made this possible for Edmund Gwinn. I wish I could have been there but was thinking of the memorial and watching "Miracle in 34th Street" on a loop all day to be with you in spirit. What a wonderful, respectful, loving gesture. "Merry Christmas Santa!" 🌲 Blessings - Judith 🎭🎤
Very good work!!
So many years have passed.
But still, he was never forgotten.
no not once, you see he lives in the heart of so many. 🎅
Thank you for all the work you did, Arthur , to make this happen. Edmund now has a proper resting spot. Rest in Peace Edmund Gwenn in your new digs.
Tears of joy from Saint Paul Minnesota. 🎅⚘
That is fantastic! Congratulations. I may be a dreamer but I loved this history giving him a nice resting place. In a sense was welcoming back home. Thanks to everybody made this dream possible.
Beautiful. Thank you Jessica and Arthur for locating Mr Gwenn’s cremains and ultimately, through the donations of the Hollywood Graveyard community and others, provided this gentleman the final resting place he so deserved. May he Rest in Peace
What a wonderful happening to find "our" Santa, missing for all these years, but never from our hearts. RIP Edmund, as a little boy, you made Christmas real for me. Thank you Arthur for doing this. A great early Christmas present.❤
This is fabulous!! I am so excited that he has a wonderful new home where he can rest and be adored by all of his fans! There is a Santa Claus!! Thank you!
Thank you to Arthur and Jessica, Hollywood Forever and Chapel of the Pines for making this happen. It was indeed an honor to be present for this event, and it couldn't have been more respectful, tasteful, and elegant. Rest in peace, Edmund, and Merry Christmas!
I was okay--just a little teary-eyed--through most of this, but got a little choked up when the urn was placed in its vault, and then I lost it completely when you showed the clip of the little girl who didn't speak English singing along with Santa Claus, who of COURSE speaks ALL languages! That scene makes me weep every time I see it. Thank you for doing this for Mr Gwenn; it was wonderful to see him in such a dignified and appropriate setting.❤
It is an act of charity to bury the dead with honor! Thanks for all you have done, Arthur! 🎅
seeing Mr. Gwenn sing a dutch December (Sinterklaas) song is special and he has nearly no accent!
Finally RIP dear Edmond🎅🏻❤!
Here I am sitting thinking of how I’m not feeling very christmasy then I watch this video and the spirit suddenly surrounds me ❤💚❤️💚
Twas 18 days before Christmas and all through the net people cried and cheered some people wepted, the people donated with such love and care in hopes our Santa's home would be well prepared, On Dec 3,2023 the goal was met we were all happy indeed, our Arthur Dark and Jessica with such Christmas cheer did ensure our Santa would always be near. Thank you Arthur Dark and Jessica for bringing Santa to his forever home and everyone donating to make sure our Santa is home to stay keep resting in peace Edmund Gwenn and welcome home santa and merry Christmas to you all and to all a good night
Its sad that he was forgotten and nobody of his family reclaim his ashes... probably today nobody still alive.. it’s sad also for all the stars who are forgotten and lost in the vaults ..
You’ve done with the donators a very huge thing 👏🏼🎅🏼🕯🎄
My favorite Santa.... Finally Resting In Peace .... Bless him...🎅❤️🩹...xxx

What an awesome ending to a great Christmas Story!!
Thank you, Arthur and Jessica !!!! Fantastic, and God bless you both!!
The most fantastic news of an actor finally laid to rest where he can be properly remembered by his fans.
Thanks Arthur and Jessica, absolutely beautiful
This channel is special. It has gone to places far and wide. The adventures are too many to describe. What really sets this channel apart is the mention of other Hollywood producers, animators, voice Actors/Actresses and those we didn’t know. This project bought me to tears because I do remember Mr. Gwen’s roles. Glad he has a new home.
Damn, man! This brought me to tears. A wonderful thing y'all did. And I'm so stoked that alot of folks got involved. Such a good story. Big warm hugs.
Feeling so good he has a proper home at Hollywood Forever. RIP Santa.
My brother and I went to the Arthur and Giuseppe concert and fully planned on attending this. Alas, my grandson‘s 13th birthday party was planned on this exact day and time and we had to forgo. I would never miss my grandson‘s birthday, but was so bummed to miss this. It was a beautiful day here in LA also!! The turnout looked wonderful! Congrats on making this happen. Glad I was able to donate to the cause. ❤
When Jessica found the urn I burst into tears. I thought how could they lose Santa, Santa! This gives me hope, thank you.
I cried, such an amazing Christmas gift.
Got to admit, Miracle on 34th Street is one of the few movies that makes me cry!
Bless you, Arthur and all who helped give Edmund a proper resting place. Beautiful story. RIP.
GREAT JOB ARTHUR!!!!
The joy on her face as she held the paper-wrapped urn... Thank you all for another miracle for Santa.
Thank you Arthur for such a beautiful video. Thank you for your compassion and empathy, and also to everyone else, who helped give Edmund his forever home. Merry Christmas to you. 🎅
This is beautiful ❤️ Thank you Mr. Dark for the work you do
