working as a brickies labourer as a kid ,one of my first cars was a LX Torana ,if you looked up on the hoodlining there was a huge lump of mud and crap there,everytime i let the handbrake/footbrake off a lump of whatever was on my boot would fly up there ,great idea moving the handbrake on the A9X2

This is beast. That interior is insane for a custom job. I'm looking at getting a custom centre console for my hq like that down the track with the double din head unit, electric window switches, handbrake relocated to the centre but I'm gonna throw in some missile switches between the shifter and head unit! That's just an amazing car!

Mark this a masterpiece. Torana hatchback still has a killer shape and tough as stance... Its compact size is a fresh change from all the bigger heavier more modern builds you have done. Can only imagine what it must be like to drive! Epic no doubt.... Would love to see a similar vid of the Sandman ute with a big part dedicated to how it runs on the street.... That twin turbo set up must haul some serious arse....

I am building a retromod hatch little more modern than this but bit less bling underneath for a daily driver . Going IRS 9" and paddleshift auto running gear . Love the car and will use a few ideas you have used
Fantastic job Mark, Even removed the gutters !!!! That's committed to the cause. Didn't the Torana's have the frt swaybar rear of the frt suspension. What you've done with the new mounting is very unusual. The Torana is a great body that is "timeless" with the modern "twist". Brilliant :-)

One time i left it parked at indoor cricket in Cannington in Perth to be stolen during the game as I used my car as a daily driver , back then prices hadnt skyrocketted and I actually purchased that car for 9K from a car yard in Vic Park. I suspect this beauty would be the exact same thing I would never want to leave this anywhere , even though this is just a mock up A9X , its expensive and a work of art. Choose carefully where you leave it

Th ebrakes were good but needed way more refinement and after several hard braking attempts they faded badly. Th eoriginal 308 which was fully emisioned motor with all the pollution rubbish on it was no power house at all, until you changed the heads , whacked on a holley or what ever primitive mods you could make back in the early 80s and then it was illegal. Great car really for the time , nothing even comparable to your concours condition machine. Beautifully appointed and tastefully refined, then again you cannot modify the original car unless you choose to devalue it.
***** Although this one wasn't an original to start with, so all the mods would have substantially increased its value. Even the engine, transmission and chassis mods are a huge improvement on stock. Because it's obviously a later engine, all that emissions bollocks is now irrelevant, because the emissions standards on even a cammed engine are still better than those of a stock A9X

There's a market for XY GT Replicas, VK Group A replicas.....why not modern A9X's now that Holden manufacturing it dead:( If this car can be made to perform just as well as modern car then there might just be market for patriotic cashed up Aussies. I'm wondering if you've thought about placing the gearbox with the differential to achieve a better weight distribution?
hello just a couple of questions .. 1. did you need to change the trans tunnel or did the t56 fit with a shorter extension housing. 2.what heater fan set up did you use as you had deleted the original engine bay one?
Nice job Mark...Lots and lots of hours in that one..!!...Just my opinion but,..I'm not a fan of the very large diameter rims..15's max (must be hotwires)with some sidewall on that car...JMO...But I can see where you're going with it...Lots of love went into that for sure...And a whole heap of money I'd think...

Love this car only 2 things I don't like is exterior door handels and steering wheel. Other than that top job

Agree wheels are a little bit too big for the side profile of the car.
So you still have the old foot brake set up with the pull handle that go's on the LX dash wondering if you like to sell it to me ?
